HY-DIV268N-5A is is a PWM chopper-type single-chip bipolar sinusoidal micro-step stepping motor driver. 2-phase bipolar-type stepping motor can be driven by only clock signal with low vibration and high efficiency. Suitable for drive Two-phase stepping motor dynamic voltage 12V to 48V, the maximum drive current is less than 5A and having outer diameter of 35 to 86 mm.
This drive uses the current loop subdivision control, the motor torque ripple is very small, low-speed running is very smooth. High-speed torque is much higher than other two-phase drives, high positioning accuracy. Widely used in the engraving machines, CNC machine tools, packaging machinery and other high resolution requirements on the device. NEMA17, NEMA23, NEMA24 and NEMA34 stepper motors work perfectly with this HY-DIV268N-5A Stepper Driver.

I am confused by the lable 5A. The datasheet of the TB6600HG sais 4,5A and 5A 100ms peak.

Does the Amp written on the driver is a peak value or rms?
Would like to use Ramps 1.4 and mega with nema 23, what's your thought about that?
Which step mode is better for an application ? i mean we have full step , 1/2 step , 1/8 step and so on , which one is better to use ? when increasing steps leads to decreasing torque
I think 1/2 is the sweet spot. Microstepping not only increse the resolution but also makes the motion smooth and eliminates resonance, but at the same time going far to 1/4,1/8,1/16 can cost a lot of torque making it useless to use. Even the torque vs frequency graph in the datasheet of nema23/nema17 is given for half step operation.

I am able to answer only 1st when the sketch is uploaded to the arduino board after that the arduino is using the usb cable as for power only you can disconnect it and power it through a 5v adapter

the voltage in the source is 12v but if the motor just need 3.2v , it have to decrease the voltage from the driver's output or we can connect it directly???

Rough rule of thumb is 20 times motor voltage for peak source voltage. So peak source for this motor would be 64v. So run the highest the driver will allow for best motor performance. Or maybe 48v source

huh? not smart to run the motor at higher then amp rating? you give the motor ...V but the motor pulls ...A so the driver would be overloaded?
