    Twisting the cap when posted does indeed move the blind cap. That is a good thing because it acts as a holder for the blind cap that can be screwed back on by twisting in the opposite direction. That way you don't lose the blind cap when filling.

    I would really love this Piston Filler in rich green or olive with its gold nib and trims.

    I really love this in-depth review and appreciate the chapters. It is so helpful when creators do this especially for longer videos. I was on the fence about getting this pen because I wanted to wait it out for a different color, but I have to have it now! Awesome first video. Looking forward to more!

    I got mine today. Love it and I agree that a size 6 with silver trim would be cool!

    I just got my Piston Sport (medium) yesterday, inked it with Kaweco Royal Blue during my lunch break today. Very nice, smooth nib, ink flow at the upper end of my preference. I like the weight compared with my other Kaweco pens: Three Ice Sports, two Lilliputs, all but one of them F nibs, one M.
    The blind cap was loose out of the box, but snug it up and it doesn't appear to loosen while writing. I like it a lot, and not just because I tend to like piston-fillers in general.

    Great overview and first video! I’ve seen many people complain about the blind cap coming off accidentally. I wonder if kaweco will consider a step down in the future, so the cap liner engages with the trim ring instead of the end finial.

    Very well done review. I'm going to pick one up but I can't find a nib comparison. Ex fine or fine? Grind a M to italic? .....?

      Thanks so much for watching!
      For referencing Kaweco nib widths, I recommend checking out what retailers may have for the AL Sport because the Kaweco Piston Sport has the same size 5 nib (the difference is in the nib housing because the body of the pen). Hopefully retailers can get those added to the Piston listing to make things easier.

    Just got the piston sport in broad. Would have preferred medium but where I got it they didn't have any left. I have a TWSBI Diamond mini rose gold in broad and it writes perfect so I felt good about ordering a broad. When I first inked it up it was so wet, feathering really bad. I experimented with different inks, using Diamine Earl Grey and now it writes like a charm. Also about the blind cap, I just screwed it on very tight and don't twist when i'm unposting and that has seemed to solve that issue.

      This is great to know, thanks for sharing! I just bought the TWSBI Mini in a 1.1 Stub and can't wait to give that a try and compare it against this Kaweco Piston Sport.

    Are you able to separate the nib from the feed. I would like to do that for deep cleaning as I’ve been burnt by dirty nib units lots of times. Thanks in advance.

    Won't capping the pen, scratch it? Nice video.

      Kaweco Classic Sport, AL Sport, AC Sport, Bronze, Brass, Skyline, Frosted, SS Sport, & Demonstrators (but not in GLASS ... Great line 🙂) are pocket pens. To use them longer than a couple of strokes, I've almost always posted the cap. Just normal sliding the cap on and off, I've NOT noticed any scratching or gouging on my Kaweco Classic Sports or my AL Sport. Will the pens get marked as time rolls on? Sure, but the normal act of sliding the cap onto the barrel isn't likely to dig gouges or induce scratches that mark up the barrel. I have a AL Sport ~ "Golden Espresso", and I've used it for 2 years + as my main EDC pen. It has some marks where the paint has worn thin, but you really have to look. Plus, I see no real wear from posting. If scratches are a concern with posting the cap, I'd say purchase a different style pen (longer barrel), and don't post. Kaweco has been making these pocket style pens a long time, and they are well made IMO. The plastic Sports are very reasonably priced. If you can find a AL in a color you like, the ALs are tough, and I like them better, as they weight just a little bit more. Some of the other materials the Sports are made of ~ SS, Bronze, Brass, AL/Carbon tend to cost more. To each their own. Great little fountain pens.
      I really like the new AL piston filler. Having the clip incorporated, plus the piston filler and ink window! Wow, what's not to like (except the higher cost... .) I'm sure Kaweco will sell a bunch. Thanks Stationary Stack for the great video. 🙂

    Is the plunger/cartridge replaceable?

    • @StationeryStack
      @StationeryStack  Před 2 měsíci

      The Kaweco Piston Sport has the piston ink filling mechanism, which I have not heard about replacement parts (and how to acquire) at this time. Ink cartridges are not compatible with this pen.

    Why do people call it KA-VE-CO and not the way it is spelled "KA *WE* CO ??

    • @StationeryStack
      @StationeryStack  Před 3 měsíci +3

      I had the same sentiment when I began my Kaweco collection. I learned through pen friends in the pen community that it's pronounced Ka-ve-co because it's a German brand. I also found this helpful video from @JetPens czcams.com/video/oNeT4nGWC48/video.htmlsi=q71tqbXcQKH_ABDI&t=253

      @@StationeryStack Thank you again, for sharing the link...I will make the proper corrections, in my future pronunciation...this is my first german language class..lol
      I bought 2 of these Kaweco's ...the grey body, with the fine and bold nibs.
      and the Frosty kaweco with the medium nib.
      My wife loves them, so I bought her the Copper metal Kaweco ...which she uses everyday, since she got it..LOL

      Learned this years ago when I became a fan of Win Wenders (pronounced Vim Vendahs)

    Because it's german and that's how Kaweco pronounce it - duh.
