All Born Screaming has been my favorite this year as well! It abeolutely floored me when it came out. I've also enjoyed Gloom Divisiom by IDKHow and Older by Lizzy Mcalpine :)
I agree with the majority of your takes here, especially HMHAS, All Born Screaming, Dark Times, and Mountainhead, but I wanna bring up Joywave's "Permanent Pleasure" and IDKHOW's "GLOOM DIVISION" as albums i've been loving since they've come out. I'll toss in AVRALIZE's "FREAKS" as some of the best metalcore i've heard all year, Fax Gang and Parannoul's collab album "Scattersun" as some really cool glitchy hyper pop shoegazey type beat, glass beach's "plastic death" as something I can't even really pin down into any one genre, Microwave's "Let's Start Degeneracy" (I'm suprised you didn't talk about it) for some really chill, slightly gazey alt rock, and Wallows' "Model" for some really nice indie alt rock. Love the mid-year review, great way to recap what's been good this year!

Permanent Pleasure took me by surprise, i wasnt expecting to love it as much as I do; He's Back! and 787 Dreamliner, and Hate To Be A Bother are personal favorites! i first got into Joywave in 2022 when they dropped Cleanse, and i think PP is definitely the band at their peak.

I think it's a good thing that you put out this video. Always better to check out some of these recommendations now and save some time at the end of the year for the next batch of solid records than listening to too much all at once. Anyways, Clancy is my personal best album so far with Post Human and Saviors right behind it!
If you’re into emo rock (and I know you are), the new Southtowne Lanes album has been HEAVILY slept on in mainstream music. Such a good record and I highly recommend checking it out.

Honestly I know you don’t do reviews too often anymore but I would love to see one for “Only God Was Above Us” if ever, since it does seem you’re passionate about it. That album seems to have gone somewhat under the radar for a relatively big band in a sea of big hot releases. It’s been my favorite of the year quite handily and every song does just get better over time. Somehow…it did manage to dethrone MVOTC for me.
@@artvjon Eveythings redundant at this point. I find the album refreshing and genuinely joyful. The D’Addario brothers are some of the most talented musicians in the industry, also they only record Analog which most people only record digital.

Caligula's Horse's new album (Charcoal Grace) and Imminence's new album (The Black) are ones that have made big splashes, but the new Cyberiam (Unobtanium) is a beautifully introspective album from them

It`s interesting that zou said that Billie "leans heavily on her brother Finneas on production" while on the other hand, they said that Billie done a lot of production by herself on this record.
So far my AOTY is Coup de Grâce by Seeyouspacecowboy. 2000’s metalcore and post hardcore back with vengeance and attitude, this proves the band is more than just a nostalgia act with its electric energy, earwormy choruses, band chemistry (especially between the 3 vocalists) and a jazzy tinge not seen on their previous records that makes this one feel special. The guest vocalists are also fantastic too. Not a single skip, I don’t personally see anything topping it for me and I feel like not a lot of ppl are discussing it in the conversation of the strongest albums released this year.

I agree with the majority of your takes here, especially HMHAS, All Born Screaming, Dark Times, and Mountainhead, but I wanna bring up Joywave's "Permanent Pleasure" and IDKHOW's "GLOOM DIVISION" as albums i've been loving since they've come out. I'll toss in AVRALIZE's "FREAKS" as some of the best metalcore i've heard all year, Fax Gang and Parannoul's collab album "Scattersun" as some really cool glitchy hyper pop shoegazey type beat, glass beach's "plastic death" as something I can't even really pin down into any one genre, Microwave's "Let's Start Degeneracy" (I'm suprised you didn't talk about it) for some really chill, slightly gazey alt rock, and Wallows' "Model" for some really nice indie alt rock.

I think it's a good thing that you put out this video. Honestly I know you don’t do reviews too often anymore but I would love to see one for “Only God Was Above Us” if ever, since it does seem you’re passionate about it. That album seems to have gone somewhat under the radar for a relatively big band in a sea of big hot releases. It’s been my favorite of the year quite handily and every song does just get better over time. Somehow…it did manage to dethrone MVOTC for me.
A Dream Is All We Know by The Lemon Twigs. Superb release this year. Must listen if you haven't!

the best and most underrated album of this year is Bringing back all mankind by mark jones. The best experimental album
The new Nothing More album is their best since the self titled record. Hopefully you dig it!! As of right now it’s my favorite album of the year and it just came out today 😂
My top favorites so far this year are Saviors, Clancy, Prelude to Ecstasy, and Only God Was Above Us from this video. Also in my personal list would be Model by Wallows, Cage the Elephant's Neon Pill, and IDKhow's Gloom Division.

The new Lip Critic is my aoty no question. They're hard to compare to anything but if you like Death Grips or Show Me The Body you gotta check it out

It`s interesting that zou said that Billie "leans heavily on her brother Finneas on production" while on the other hand, they said that Billie done a lot of production by herself on this record.
So far my AOTY is Coup de Grâce by Seeyouspacecowboy. 2000’s metalcore and post hardcore back with vengeance and attitude, this proves the band is more than just a nostalgia act with its electric energy, earwormy choruses, band chemistry (especially between the 3 vocalists) and a jazzy tinge not seen on their previous records that makes this one feel special. The guest vocalists are also fantastic too. Not a single skip, I don’t personally see anything topping it for me and I feel like not a lot of ppl are discussing it in the conversation of the strongest albums released this year.
