How well do the Nothing Ear (2) work with iPhone? How good is the Nothing Ear (2) call quality? Are they as goof as AirPods? In this video I’m going give you my first impressions and a quick review of the new Nothing Ear (2)! I'm going to take you through the unboxing, the design, the key features and I’m also going to give you my thoughts on whether these are worth getting.
BUT... I also wanted to show you guys something that I don’t think anyone else is talking about, which is odd, specifically related to Apple's Airpods Pros as well as looking at some of the other best wireless buds out there, so make sure you stick around until the end for that.

Finally someone who is logcal and sensible about making the comparison right. I own neither buds, was planning to buy Nothing, but it is so annoying when people say "These are amazing buds but they are not as good as Airpod pro 2". Well of course!!! it won't be at half the price. Thanks for this review, can make a decision now.

The photography and images here are all fantastic. I love the Nothing 2 buds due to their design and fit, and I am willing to put up with their abysmal battery life, because of that alone.

As a product designer using plastics in my designs, you have to choose between ”scratchproof” and ”crackproof”: either the plastic is prone to scratches or it’ll crack if you drop it. So it makes sense that the case scratches easily, but survives being dropped.
i have both the standard airpods and the ear (2), honestly i was thinking to get the airpods pro but finding out these bad boys exist, its a steal considering my budget and how i use my buds in general!!

the intro had my jaw on the floor, definitely one of the most satisfying intros I've seen, and thus, i have no choice but to subscribe. love the in-depth and honest review of nothing ear (2), it's refreshing to hear someone else say that one shouldn't compare ear (2) to airpods pro, Samsung buds pro or any other premium earbuds above the $200 margin.
I'm considering buying either ear (2) or sony linkbuds s wf-ls900, since both are (almost) on the same price range right now. would appreciate your thoughts on which is the better deal by making a video or just simply commenting here (lol)

Engineer here. I've shipped a lot of products, and worked with a lot of UX designers over the decades. There are pros/cons to the design, a classic form vs. function issue, and that is the clear case. Looks great....at first. In short order the case, which is designed for travel, will get scratched up and the beauty will fade quickly. Marketing people love this though, because then they can sell protective covers and/or license the design rights for protective covers to 3P companies.

I love the way your video is made. I'm watching this after I've already ordered the Ear (2) but I loved the fact that you do a proper benchmark unlike the other youtubers who straight up compare it with the airpods. It's like comparing a Hyundai with a Rolls Royce and saying why the Hyundai sucks. Someone who's in the market for Hyundai would like to see it compared to products in the similar price band and at that price point, Nothing feels like a no-brainer

Hey mate, great review. i noticed this was posted in May. Can I ask if you did the firmware update which was release 18.04.23 or did you purchase these with the new firmware? Apparently there is a huge difference and a lot of the connectivity bugs were fixed.

I do want to recommend trying the OnePlus Buds Pro 2, as they easily become my second favorite wireless earbuds to use, only behind the Status Between 3ANC. Really good earbuds, especially the sound quality. Either way, I still enjoyed the content & will be watching more

Had these nothing buds for two months... They are so comfortable and sound fantastic. Had the pixels and these are a definite step up.
Do you think Phone calls are better than Pixel buds Pro? I have Pixel 7 Pro and heard that PBP has clear calling feature. I'd like to know the call quality of Ear 2 outdoors ( Subways and windy situations)

@@mah92lk A very difficult thing to compare without a scientific back to back test with others. I've asked my wife if she can tell the difference but she says they both sound good to her. The sound is good in my ears at least.
wondering if you've tried out the soundcore liberty 4/4 ncs and how you think these compare? i'm big on anc (london transport and all) and fit (my ears are quite small). the nothings are the most expensive (£120 vs. £80 and £55 on the 4's and 4 NC's) so i'm curious if they'd be worth it :)

@@dofkiux7568 I like them! I think for what you get they seem like a good value. They def sound better than my AirPod pro v1’s. They deal better, don’t move much when power walking unlike the AirPods. I’m pleased with my purchase. I generally use them for work and power walking(listening to music) and use my AirPods for everything else.
How's the call quality outdoors? Compared to your old airpods pro 1
@@mah92lk cancel more noise, fit better in my ears. Better sound quality (subjective) If they had the same ease of transition and use with IOS devices as the airpod pro I would choose them first every time. That said battery life is not as good. Outdoor quality is good. I prefer to use them while power walking vs AirPod pro 1’s

If these are just a tad better than the Ear 1's, they should be worth it.
I still love my Ear 1's in white & black. I wear mine while out in extreme heat, rain & saltwater while fishing & they block out other boat motors when they pass me while I'm in my Kayak!
Sometimes they scare me because I don't hear them, I started running transparency mode.
It does seem like the battery life drops over time. They last about an hour less than when brand new.

Thanks man. Not a huge fan of JBL to be honest, but planning to review some soon. Generally speaking I’m not going to review buds that don’t have ANC. They’re not something I would use so I can’t give a solid opinion / review. Hope that helps 👍

just looking for some buds for around 100 quid...the downsides on gliching and not connecting were these before or after the firmware release?? Im possibly going with these over the beats and the sennheiser. There only for occational use on public transport or watching stuff in bed and my prevoius pair were a 20 pound amazon special so im hoping the difference will be day and night anyway. OnePlus better sound and anc but I really like the design despite nothing having worse sound quality (but not that much worse)
On services yes Apple and Amazon, etc offer hifi. But it depends on the phone too because iPhone atm and others can’t send hifi audio over Bluetooth tech

An audio engineer did a review on this compared to all of the top buds out there and this scored the best in call quality. The only thing you wouldn't buy these for, that you can find elsewhere that is better, are the noise canceling, audio quality and possibly comfort and battery life. Other than that, if you are finding yourself making calls on the go for your business, these are it.

Even though I understand what you’re trying to say, I can’t help but laugh a little when I read what you wrote. You basically said was “these aren’t very good in terms of sound quality, comfort, and noise cancellation” which are literally the 3 most important aspects of wireless earbuds…but according to you the call quality is on point which seems to be the most important aspect TO YOU. For me personally the ANC, Battery life and Sound Quality are ALL WAY WAY WAY more important!!
@d.a.v.8638 yeah. Idk maybe I was drinking. I have them and I would use then over any apple products or Samsung buds. The noise canceling is alright, call quality seems good, but only when both are in....but yeah, sorry about that.
So they are basically bad at anything other than making calls lol

hi i m facing a charging issue one side buds its drain very fast as compare other side left side drain very fast and come to 10% i dont know others are facing this issue or not i m having ear 2 please help me out i have allraedy replaced in new one its same problem
tbh in case of waterproofness IP 54 and IP x4 is same, because first number always means ingress protection against foreign objects, and the second means protection against humidity.

I know it's your living to make people buy your affiliate links but if you took the attitude of 'fuck them I give my BRUTALLY HONEST opinion of a companies product' you would gain the most loyal of followers an that would grow organically. You'd have a following that trust you. You'd stand out as an influencer that doesn't conform to companies'promotional packages. You've got serious potential.

read so many forums that their battery life is atrocious :( is it true ??? is the battery life only 2 hrs with ance off after a full charge inside case?
Damn, I was about to buy a pair myself….right up until you said you only get 4hrs with ANC on. I’m the kind of person who wears his earbuds ALL DAY EVERY DAY! In fact I bought TWO pairs of AirPod Pro 2’s so that I can have one pair in while the other is charging, but I don’t want to have to do that with whatever pair I buy next.
Video on new Sony M5 buds dropping any day now - keep an eye out for that!
Mine got so scratched after just one month, i bough a case for them, and now the hinge is kind of broken (feel very loose) because of the case put stress on the hinge and it didn't open properly, just don't buy a silicone case like i did. Also some dirt got literally stuck inside the case of the Nothing Ear 2, and there's no way to take it out, everything that i would try would scratch the case even more.

Can't you put a clear plastic screen protector on the case large sides at least? You could use anything larger, and place it face down on a cutting board, take exactly blade an boom 💥 protector installed!

What about Edifier NeoBuds Pro 2?
I have them and tbh, besides call quality I prefer my Cambridge Audio Melomania 1+ with foam tips, the case is way nicer and smaller, the battery is over twice as long without putting in the case, audio quality is similar, they don't have active noise cancellation but with foam tips it's the same noise reduction than the active with rubber tips, and I got them for £50 on sale.... I hate the case on the Ear (2), it's big, likely to break as has a stupid design where the hinge is under stress and you have to press a button on the case to sync (wtf is that about). Overall good product but they really should make a better case, provide with foam tips and improve battery life.

You are the picky one !! i kind of like El Heffe's vid's as well, but for me i am interested in stuff like transparency effectiveness, not just anc quality.. Also some of the app's out there are just miserable -- no good hw no good Sw take the $$ and run ... loved your venn diagram made a clip out of it !!! 0n paper sony link bud's seem the best but so .... many choices out there that you don't consider tozo earfun etc...
Did you know that there are many great audio brands that make TWS headphones besides Sony, Apple, Samsung, Sennheiser and Google and for much cheaper? Well, Nothing targets the mainstream brands anyway, so your comparison is not wrong i guess haha

In my experience,, out of 14 premium earbuds i have, nothing earbuds 2 is the best in term of call quality it never disappoint during calls or virtual meetings. But it has terrible battery life unfortunately

Otherwise you can compare them to the JBL Live Pro 2, Soundcore Liberty Air 4, Sony LinkBuds S, Galaxy Buds 2, 1More Evo, Earfun Air S / 3... and even against all those, the Nothing are far from being the best
Nothing is going to have to get as close to a 1:1 feature and performance wise to airpods to become a real player in this space. The problem is that Apple dominates this market so much that the Airpod replica market has more of a foot-hole marketshare than the majority of Apple's main competitors in this space.
I Will Keep My Money In My Pocket On These Too As Well As The Bose Ultra Headphones
I think freebuds pro 2 or 3 are the best value in the market.
