"Easier for the consumer"
Every caption in this video: Ear 2 (2023), Ear (2024)
Literally makes no sense
Bro called plugging something in 'old fashioned' đ
I feel ya
the âOOOL fashion way đ€ đ
Why would dropping the numbering make it anything but more confusing for the consumer? Bigger number = better product is about as straightforward as it gets
Yeah, kinda hate the new naming scheme as it confuses me a bit, but it is what it is...
@@nullfiiez i mean the expert community knows what to look for. the otherside of marketing is to keep things simple for the average joe while feeling like a fashion queen. there are still people finding out about nothing.
They're probably trying to go for the first gen second gen naming scheme
From what I know they dont want to make a new one annually.
Keep it standard. If the user needs new earbuds, they just go to the site and pick the more expensive one or the less expensive one. Apple strat. They don't call it MacBook Pro 4 or whatever.
Dropping the number scheme is going to create more confusion for the consumer, not less. After all, Nothing Ear 3 tells you that you are getting a updated version of Nothing Ear 2.
Agreed
They just want the customer to know the âearâ is the best and not have them think about upgrades
I think what they were trying to achieve here was that the consumer isnt supposed / doesnt need to pick between generations but just if they need a more premium or more budget friendly option
They're trying to be like Apple, but there's just one issue: They're not.
@@Ilikeminecraft57 Apple names the products. It's more like Amazon with the kindle.
You know the review is good when you're simultaneously learning about audio science without it slowing down a beat of the review at all.
The old fashioned and MUCH MORE EFFICIENT way of cable charging...
Facts haha
In a few years shitting is gonna be old fashioned
Shitting is a waste of my time. I just plug in spoon from my anus and scoop all of the shit out once every nightâ@@thestarheater973
That mic upgrade is huge! Thanks for such a detailed review (without going into crazy unnecessary detail). Just preordered the new Ear!
I love how detailed you explain each and everything. You're really that honest person who explained these products exactly as what it is without any hidden things. Just love it †i subscribed. And hey i ordered the Ear (a) in white đ can't wait to hear themđ„
I have never seen a tech video this impressive, from amount of info to quality of video you are doing amazing đđ
I love you explain every detail so aesthetically I love the aesthetic bro
Ear(a) looks so pretty
Yellow looks hideous.
@@Jason-sz7ek no it's tasty
@@Jason-sz7ek i disagree it looks great
@@MilesLaker But looks cheap for 100$
this video is so high quality, well produced, and gives all the information i wanted!!! esp with comparing it to airpod pros which are so much more expensive. thank u so much :)
This video is GOOD. Ran into this based on my recommended and Iâm glad I chose to watch it. Subscribed.
very impressive video quality!! love it
bad transparency is the dealbreaker for me. The Airpods pros are so good in transparency that i mostly forget that i am wearing them. Its so useful.
The transparency mode especially when using one ear
Imho most people (including me) rarely use it so that's why they haven't improved it.
@@belec5964 that's the strangest generalization I've ever heard. most people who practically 'live' in their airpod pros always have transparency mode on to stay semi-alert while doing day to day tasks. The only time I don't have transparency mode on is in the subway or if I'm working alone on a project.
@@belec5964 I feel like whether most people use it or not completely depends on how good it is. Everyone I know who has a pair of airpods or sony xm5s always uses them, while those that don't have buds with similarly good transparency barely ever use them at all.
LOL One time I used it will drilling a hole in my bathroom wall. The adaptive noise cancellation saved my ears. I could continue having a conversation while the AirPods cancel out the loud noise.
You can control the volume with the stems, just need to enable it in the app
Thank god. This would be way too stupid for buds in 2024 otherwiseđ
dude you're hella underrated. very informative and well-produced review, gave me everything i wanted to know
thank you, appreciate it!
I was looking forward to your coverage of these buds, glad you got this out so soon!
I was tempted to get the ear (2)âs last month but noticed Nothing had them on sale, and cos of leaked info I had an inkling the next generation were coming soon. Happy I waited
I got the CMF buds pro a few months back, but I am really tempted by these Ear (a). After getting the Phone 2(a) a few weeks ago I am really becoming a Nothing fan boy. I really like what they are doing in the tech space.
Really appreciate and love that you did a side by side comparison of all 3 while on a call! Most reviewers only say a couple of words when showing the call quality, but I love that you did the whole review of the microphone quality while on the call! Gives me a better idea of how each one sounds! đ Video quality, graphics, production is so visually pleasing and on point as always. đŻ Thanks Josh for all the effort and thought you put into your videos!
Yellow is my favorite
Look how cute it's
Great review! May I ask the comfortability on the long time you are wearing it?
very nice review. would love if you introduce latency tests. thanks for mentioning that passthrough has not been upgraded.
i will switch to another nothing ear when they get on apple airpods level of ambient passthrough
Thanks for the review. Interesting to see they released a $100 model, very competitive with the JBL Ghost. 39% battery is such a massive upgrade, thank goodness. 4 hours of battery really isn't enough for my day-to-day, I'd want more, but I'm happy with that.
8:40 actually apple music also has good lossless audio support which quite a few people actually use
Quality review. You just got a sub!
Letâs go đ„ thank you for the sub!
I wish the Nothing Ear case was like the Ear (a) - rectangular...
Looks so much better!! đŻ
And the yellow colour for the Nothing Ear too!! đ„đ„
What if i am an apple fan boy but i need to use, nothing ear (a). will they won't work? include features
I bought the nothing 2a and was DEVASTATED by the value for money it offers! Great performance, solid design, same for the cmf buds, definitly going for these when they re available
I got AirPods 1 gen with the complete apple eco system, I like that I can switch between devices very easily but they only last a bit over an hour and i have to choose between ear a and AirPods Pro 2 but the ear a seem to be appealing (mainly design and price) what do you think?
Amazing thumbnail by the way đ«
hi joshua, Overall, which one is better? Nothing ear or Nothing ear (2), i have Nothing ear (2) btw, or i should wait for release of Nothing ear (3) ?
Do they sound a lot better than the standard EarPod tho because it seem like wireless earbuds still doesn't sound much better than it, I like yellow color but if I want to wear a speaker on my head, I did prefer just spend more and get a headphone, I prefer to listen to the natural and surrounding and get to knoe new people when im outside than keep immerse myself in the digital world, and wjen I want music, I will just use speakers or headphone
That is the REVIEW đ
What about the battery backup....any improvement on battery?
if they want to remove the number they should add a date marker somewhere to identify the year model. so theyre not changing the name but the year like a car.
Right now, for $100, should I go for the new Ear (a) or for the old Ear (2)?
Should i get the ear A or galaxy buds fe, because the buds fe is actually cheaper in my country.
You can add volume control with the app
There are volume controls on the stems for the ear2, did they remove it?
How's the transparency and noise cancelling compared to pixel buds pro?
Can the ear (a) be charged with the Nothing/Nothing ear 2 case?
Do you know what materials the parts that are touching the ears are made of. These companies usually donât reveal exactly whatâs in their materials. I have a very bad allergic to acrylates. So I canât use AirPods or most ear buds or even bone conductors or anything really.
Yellow colour feels super cheap. I get it's a fun colour. Pass-through is essential if you wear your earphones or headphones for long periods in an office or on the go. Give them a break while reducing potential noise. This is a dealbreaker. (I'm happy though that they didn't put in some marketing spacial stuff)
they come in black and white as well...
@@dabossprsu8742 Ah! They have been pushing the yellow and for now it seems like my country only sells the yellow ones for the (a) and the regular ones in black and white. My mistake.
I compared them with the Oppo Enco X2 I have, same specs, but they came out 2 years laterđ a bit of a scam for the nothing Ear honestly
My Nothings Stems came apart here in hot SE Texas. I thought they sounded great until I bought the Earfun Air Pro 3's!
Earfun's just connects to my S24 Ultra & Tab S7+ so fast, they last hours longer, the sound is so much clearer & punchier than my Nothings.
To get the same sound as my Nothings, I set the Nothing's to 85% volume where my Earfun's are at 60% that just blocks all sounds out, so no need for ANC & they last hours longer than my Nothings.
All of this for on sale at $55. Hard to beat.
just invest in a solid pair of AirPods bro stop buying these shittier alternatives trust me

Can i use nothing ear a earbuds to use ear 2 charging box
If I didn't know any better and saw the Ear 2 next to the Ear at a store, I'd definitely think the Ear 2 was the newer one
My guess nothing will issue an software update down the road to improve the transparancy mode
I have Nothing Ear (2). Should I upgrade to Nothing Ear?
Does nothing ear 2024 support wireless charging?
1:48, i wish samsung would make a step like design. It's just functional and makes sense.
OPEN ear!!! design was missed here with the cheaper option and more colourful option like Red,Blue, off white ect.
better then Iphones Airpods proÂŽ? when using a Iphone ofc
Literally bought some ear 2âs the day before they dropped these lol
Man I had so many issues with the nothing ear 1. Sound quality great but too many problems
If it's worth anything, I've had a really good experience with the Ear 2. No disconnections. They sound great (I'm no audiophile, just a random guy). I manage to make the battery last through the whole day, and sometimes multiple days (granted I almost never use both eatbuds at the same time).
My gf has the Ear (Stick) and she's had way more problems with those like the earbuds not disconnecting even thou they are in the case.
All this to say, I think after the Ear 2 they've gotten better at making earbuds, so I would trust these new ones are of similar quality.
How is it possible that they made transparency mode even worse...?
Coolâ€
Thank you for metuculus to the point review. I specifically like that "ear" is having equalizer, that is valuable future.
One comment I will make , when you to show logarithmic curve you got on the screen instead exponential curve.
It is common in audio engineering to have sound intensity value on the X -axis, and Decibel scale on the Y- axis.
Otherwise it is confusing.
Ah, my mistake - thanks for pointing that out! I appreciate it a lot.
I have airpods pro 2... but i feel like i kinda want to purchase the Ear A just because they seem to freaking care about the user feedback...
I recently boughy the stick and was due they donât use rubber fittings.
I really want these (coming from AirPods) but I want that custom EQ flexibility đźâđšđ„
Dang I wish the transparency mode was better
8:07 - 10 minutes of charging will get you 10 hours of use - with usage of buds for 6 hours on anc and 9 hours without anc? Did they make some magic with charging that 100% is achievable in 10 minutes?
the question is how much worse are they vs sony wh-1000xm5.
I don't believe that you mentioned the fact that the Ear (a)'s don't have access to the advanced EQ. Thats the big separating factor between both devices.
Also, at least with the Ear, any EQ setting you make in the app gets saved to the hardware itself, so any device you connect the earbuds to will have that same EQ applied.
Those two things are massive imo.
ANC in comparison to Bose, Samsung....?
I'm tempted to grab a pair of Ears to compare to my Galaxy Buds2 Pro.
The stems is the way to go man, i wish samsung had a stem like design
Kind of disappoiting to see the same design for the Nothing Ear compared to Ear (2) since dust and other things literally got inside of my Ear (2) case, and they scratch really fast
Can adjust the volume by, 'Double pinch and hold'!!
so is going from the nothing ear 2 to the nothing buds a good upgrade?
You lose the wireless charging, but you get better noise cancelling and more bass. Depends on what you want. Personally, I'd keep the Ear (2) unless you really want those features!
@@JoshuaChang yeeaaahhh gonna see how long the ear 2 will last, lets hope nothing doesn't stop selling the nothing ear (a)đđđ
I wonder what they will call next model đ Isn't it will have to be ear (2) ?
Ear (model year). Just like appleđ
†0:10
Wish Nothing would look into fairphone and make buds with replaceable battery
This channel is like MKBHD x Dave2D
The only sad thing is that the Ear didnt get the design of the buds the same way the Ear a did in white colour
"one clear difference" hehe
Wow
COMPARE WITH buds FE
i dont understand. Why is the Phone 2a, worse than the Phone 2, but Ear is worse than Ear a
Wait you can't control volume by sliding up and down on the stem? They had it on ear 1
Yeah, they changed to pinch controls, which I find more convenient c:
You can just double pinch and then hold & the volume will go up
Does ANC works on Ios as well?
Yes
I have the nothing ear (2) and I never use them with ANC because the battery life is kaka. Thats my least favourite thing about these headphones.
Dropping the number scheme is a terrible idea. Makes it way more complicated.
From the review. These donât sound like a better option than the Pixel Buds Pro.
They just following Apple path. Why making (1), (2) and then dropping it? Itâs not like 12th version, itâs only (3)âŠ
Actually, most streaming services, with the notable exception of Spotify, support lossless.
2:13 i thought he would say oneplus buds pro series
i was waiting for mkbhd lol
The next version will we nothing ear B, and it will goes on until nothing ear XYZ
Watching this video on my phone 2 with my ear a đ
Gen X and Millenials are used to having EQs to adjust and know how to do it. We don't let Carl and Tim tell us how to listen to things, lol...
Gues im not a millennial then
It seems to be a good product, terrible naming scheme tho.... it confuses consumers
The dilemma about audio is that the more capable you are of buying high-quality audio, the weaker someone's hearing can become.
âThe decibel scale is logarithmic.â
*proceeds to show exponential graph*
Pls rotate phone 180° đ
Bring back ear stick
Dropping the numbering scheme for the name - then why Nothing named the microphone technology, "Clear voice 3.0"?!?
Just stupid!! đŻ
>Easer for the consumer
HOW
HOW NAMING YOUR OLD MODEL "2.0" AND NEW MODEL IS BASICALLY "1.0" IS "EASER FOR CONSUMER", HOOOOW
What the different? Ear 1 and ear đą
There's a huge difference in every way.
Anyone notice this is the first time they do white interior for the white buds đ sexy AF đ€€
Have u reviewed cmf buds ?
