    Just did spark plugs on one of these motors for the first time and those ignition coil boots are an absolute pain in the ass to take off if they have never been removed before. You have to pull on them till they almost break.

      Well you also need to pay for a quality shop, no shop with a $100 or less labor charge is going to do this. Dealers do this a lot and so do really high end independent shops.

    Looks like you skipped another crucial step. You should ALSO vacuum out the spark plug holes when the spark plugs are removed. (whoever is reading this, look in the spark plug chamber after it's removed.. you'll see a lot debris).

      You blow them out not vacuum them out 🫶🏽

    Excellent work, especially the thoughtful clean up. But only thing I would say, do this on any engine from anyone. No engine likes debris in the cylinder, although I bet some are more sensitive than others.

    What is the correct method to remove the glow plugs? I have seen people using a torque wrench for removing the glow plugs. Is that the correct method and would that be a normal torque wrench or one that has the option to losen with a specific amount of torque? Is it advisable to remove them with a cold or hot engine as there are many different opinion on this? What if the engine can't be hot because of the fact you need to remove some parts in order to access to glow plugs?

    You were doing so good by blowing out the spark plugs holes with compressed air….then immediately after you use an air ratchet to remove the spark plug….Dayam dude.
    Just set the car on fire next time.
    Never, ever , ever use a freaking air ratchet or powered tool to remove a spark plug .
    Good way to get fired at the dealership.

      What is wrong with using an electric ratchet for removal?

    • @mbz4652
      @mbz4652 Před 8 měsíci

      @Dnasty1 If I'm not mistaken, using an electric ratchet can break the glow plugs as it can put a huge amount of torque on the glow plugs. When you remove the glow plugs, you want to use the right amount of torque. Therefore, using a torque wrench is the best thing you should use

    • @albertol9654
      @albertol9654 Před 9 měsíci +2

      If your Mercedes is not that old, you don't need an air compresser.. Just change all the coils and spark plugs and it will run like new. But make sure you get good coils and spark plugs recommend by the dealer or mechanic. Coz some spark plugs and coils are cheap and will go bad quickly if you get the wrong ones. I had similar issues with my truck when staring it.

      Yeah unfortunately I'm a mercedes mechanic I can say I'd run from any of the newer gens. I personally drive a 2002 e320. I trusted up to 2013 but even now they're awful for our customers. We have a customers with 30k-50k that already needs 2500 worth of oil leak repairs regularly, front diff seals fail normally, rear springs break normally
