    Bro are you mad?! The things you don't like about the car are useless facts, The fact you curbed the wheels means you can't park or drive properly, it has nothing to do with the wheels, and the fact it's a 3dr is also irrelevant because you can get a limited edition 5dr so just choose that instead?!

    i've had mine for 2.5 ish years, bought it when i was 17 with 21000 miles, now i'm nearly 20, hitting 52000 miles. Overall I absolutely love my car, and i think the stereotypes around them are ridiculous. I don't agree that revving your car to 6500 rpm destroys your car lol.

  • @elliotwild9612
    @elliotwild9612 Před 5 lety +5

    Positively however I believe its a brilliant first car, it handles brilliantly as it has fairly wide tyres for a small car, I spent £30 on an induction kit which meant it sounded amazing for a 1.2 and it just looks like a little hot hatch with some cheap and easy mods

    Done nearly 20k miles this year in my 2009 1.4 Sxi and the only issues were the heater controller and the oil pressure sensor breaking, both of which I fixed myself for £20 or so. Mine had an issue with the gearbox where it didn't like engaging 1st but it seems to have gone so I think there's a knack to it but idk. Love the video tho.

    Just bought this car in white and my daughter has one in canary yellow. I was pleased with the car but only two things I would say is my car doesn’t pull away that quickly, I find it a bit sluggish. Secondly, I didn’t realise to after I bought it that I couldn’t connect my phone to it for answering phone calls which isn’t the end of the world but slightly annoying. Overall though, love the car and would recommend it.

      £1300 is a joke for a years insurance with a black box, I was £1500 for my first year with a 2012 corsa because I just scrolled down to the first company without a black box, £200 for my freedom was well worth it, also bearing in mind the price you are quoted with a black box isn’t the amount you are guaranteed to pay usually you end up paying more because it goes by diving style and driving pattern and stuff

    Six years ago when I was 38 I nearly bought a grey ltd edition on a 14 plate with 7000 miles on the clock, unfortunately it didn’t happen and I ended up with a 1.2 design 5 door, absolutely hated the car, it was ugly and dog slow, one bit of advise though ,put vpower in the car and it will be much more responsive and smoother reving, I had standard Esso in the car when I bought the car and it was flat as a pancake. I see ltd edition corsas about and I wander if I should of gone for one but I’ve got a 2016 Peugeot 208 gtline now with a stage one map and ram air induction kit, she’s putting out 160 bhp and 220 ibft. That’s the biggest problem with the 1.2 ltd edition it’s so slow, if it was the 1.4 turbo u could up the power to your requirements.

    What I don't like about my red one is that i had to sell my 64 reg BMW 535d Touring to fund my mortgage deposit and I bought the Corsa limited. This means I resent it greatly, but I'm struggling to dislike it. Seems like a fun little car and I'm actually not as pissed off as I thought I would be. Absolutely gutless tho, going from 310bhp to like 83 is ludicrous lol

      @@SupercarSpotter3105 no end of problems with it so far. Bought it from a guy called 'Scally' who picks up cat N/S cars, 'fixes' then flogs them. Got it for a cracking price tho so it's not the end of the world. It needed a brake light, a DRL and 2 wiper blades (were totally wrecked) and I don't know how it passes an MOT the other day with a brake light out... and engine mount is gone, as well as the fact its needing a decent servicing since its been absolutely unloved.
      I also had to top it up with a litre of oil just to make it acceptable. So next week it's getting the engine mount done for £85, then it's having 4 spark plugs and a coil pack. Then new air, oil and fuel filters. In the end it's likely to have cost me the guts of £250 on top of the £1800 I paid for it with 67,000 miles on a 2012 61-reg.
      Be nice when I've sorted the shit that other lazy bastard couldn't be bothered to.

    Picked up a 2011 Corsa D SRI 1.4 for £2800, I’d say it’s similar to yours but the better version as it has sporty body kit same as yours, 17” black alloys and sports suspension. Also it’s a 1.4 so slightly better performance. I’d say your 62 plate is worth about £3500 these cars tend to not keep value as most are on finance and once that ends then dealers try to sell on cheap.

  • @Zondaa
    @Zondaa Před 6 lety +1

    I also own this car, do you find that the fact you have to get the most out of each gear to get anywhere (as it does lack power and haste) affects the fuel economy? Don’t get me wrong around town a tank will last you a good few weeks going to work and back and here and there, but i feel like a newer, better built and more efficient car would have better fuel economy even if it had a bigger engine. I’m looking at upgrading to a BMW 116i which has a 1.6 engine and more power, in theory it would use more fuel but i feel like my corsa uses more than it should as it’s a category D and is very jolty through gears

    • @SupercarSpotter3105
      @SupercarSpotter3105  Před 6 lety +1

      Zondaa I agree they aren’t as good on fuel as I first thought when I got the car. And yes you have to use pretty much all the gear to get the most out of it. But it does only have 83bhp and it’s only a 1.2L engine. But still for a car which is only 6 years old it’s not the best on fuel and the gearbox is not great either. I’ve just recently got a Fiesta Zetec S and that is so much better in fuel and the gearbox is a lot smoother and actually wants to change gear whereas the Corsa you sometimes had to force it into gear. Never driven a BMW but would definitely be a good upgrade if you can get one.

      brad ryan I would say that’s a good deal. As long as it’s got all the previous service records and ur happy with the condition of the cars paintwork, wheels and Interior then £4500 seems like a very good price. If u can get it checked out to see if there any mechanical issues but if not then take it for a test drive and see how it feels and then make ur mind up from there

      Miles Sampson yes you can pick them up for cheaper than £4,800 but they’ll have 75,000+ miles on them or it’ll have been crashed and repaired. If you want a good low mileage model that’s not be crashed and repaired then u will really struggle to find one for less than that.

If u listened I also said it was one of the reasons I bought the car, is because it had black wheels. Didn’t say I didn’t like the car. And also not once did I parallel park that car, I accidentally curbed them when I pulled up next to the curb to drop someone off when I first passed my test. Was an accidental thing that happened because I wasn’t concentrating properly when pulling up to the curb.

    • @SupercarSpotter3105
      @SupercarSpotter3105  Před 6 lety

      2 things. First how can you expect me to be a good driver with less than a year between making this video and passing my test? Becoming a good driver means you need years of experience not just 10 months. Second I bought the car knowing full well the gearbox wasn't in the best of conditions and would probably need to be refurbished at some point. So yes part of the reason it sometimes didn't go into 3rd is probably down to the fact that im quite inexperienced but the fact that the gearbox was also on its last legs was also a reason as well.

    • @SupercarSpotter3105
      @SupercarSpotter3105  Před 6 lety

      What car are you learning to drive in? What make, model, year? What I said in the video is that i bought the car with 18K miles on it not that it had 18K miles on it when i filmed it. The previous owner to the car was a new, male driver as well and bought the car, ragged it a lot which knackered the gearbox so it didn't always go into gear the first time of asking. I'm not denying that i'm not a very good driver im saying that the gearbox is also at fault here. I owned the car I think I know more about it than you do.

    • @SupercarSpotter3105
      @SupercarSpotter3105  Před 6 lety

      It really depends on which insurance company you go with I mean it’ll be completely different with every company but you should look for offers which are less than £1800. Any more than that and it’s not a good deal. Have a play around with some of the options on the insurance websites to try get it as low as possible, although make sure you don’t enter any false details otherwise that’ll cause issues should you need to make a claim. Hope this helps.
