The only Caro-Kann variation I truly fear · Training Game

- There are very few variations of the Caro-Kann I fear entering. This one is the worst, scariest and hardest to play for black. I think that black simply hasn't got equality with precise play, which is usually the case in the Caro-kann, and, what's worse, white is the one attacking straight out of the opening.
So if I wanted to put some pressure on my 1..c6 opponent, I would play this. In fact, I have decided to include it into my repertoire as a sideline I'll use every now and then.

What catches me the most is the beautiful thumbnails !!! Amazing channel i swear , good content for new players who wants to improve , Keep going brother
I about had a heart attack on Rd1. Time trouble and mutual blindness is a crazy thing in chess. I have done the same thing, and got away with it in the same way, so many times in blitz with seconds on the clock.
One of the things I love about your channel is that you put up clean, unedited game videos, mistakes and all. That takes a kind of courage that is refreshing to see. Great work.
The position reached after white's second move is the so called "closed scandinavian", a rare (and quite bad for white) variation that usually arises after 1.e4 d5 2.Nc3. Black can transpose into a caro-kann with 2...c6 like you did, but the way to punish white is to push 2...d4
thats what white wants!
I just tried that "bad move" with white and my opponent went completely astray.
49min43 seconds ??? both blunder , didnt expect to see that
Dude hung is rook in the end game, lol
49:42 "Hanging Rooks"
He didn't play bishop takes rook. He didn't see it. You got lucky there.
haha he definitely did, I was SHOCKED, and he almost played it twice... thankfully he didn't though
What an insane game! It was awesome to see your thought process play out. Thanks! And congrats!
Exciting game! Thank you for sharing.
Another demonstration that especially in piece versus piece endgames, gotta do a 1-second check before making a move and after opponent moves if something silly is blundered, if there's increments. Such blunders are very common!
Your thumbnails never miss bro! Fantastic!
So glad I watched this to the end!
great thumbnails as always!
I was thinking the entire time "Thats a really strong knight, I wonder if he's gonna sac the rook."
nicely played
Wow - you made him think cos there's a BIG switch in time usage!! Neat one!
You put up a tough fight. A very enjoyable game to watch.
That line is actually really fun, if you go for qb6, d4 and a quick attack on the queen side
exactly, 7....♕b6 8.O-O-O d4 9.♘e2 a5 is what I would play
Yes, and white can't even really attack you on the kingside since you haven't castled yet.
@@MGstut I see you got the lami course as well :D
Here come the lami bois :D Same here. I like this line
@@ourtube1128 To be honest, I found the line simply by looking through the database to find a solution to this d3, bd2, O-O-O stuff.
After Qxf3 I think immediate Nf6 should get you into a more comfortable game than e6 and N(b)d7 which denies the g/f knight access to d7
Exciting, fun game! 😁
would gladly rematch you mate, not one of my best games
missing the hanging rook was bad but it was on time pressure,, but playing axb4 is what im ashamed of, h7 kg7 bxg6 was an easy win
1:20 "Argghhh! Why does he go for that?!?" Sounds like me every game I play
That was too exciting for me ^^
You should play 7.. Qb6 and d4 against this Bd2, O-O-O stuff. You get an equal position immediately where you're the one attacking.
A line I’ve recently learned after 6. d3 is g6 to fianchetto followed by Nd7. Not sure how well I would have played at this level though honestly
that was intense wow
I didn't expect your opponent to sacrifice his rook for your knight??.. Enthralling tactical battle in the end game though.. You kept your cool and thoroughly deserved the victory.. One of my favourite games so far 👍
that sounds just like me: 'I don't know what to do'!!!!
Does he still do the twitch training sessions? He mentioned them at the end of the Ragozin Defense video, does anyone know?
Great game
49:43 🤡
😲
may I ask why you don't try to enter the Tartatower variation in these lines? I very much enjoy those lines for black and feel that opting into the classic carro for white as opposed to taking the knight on f6 is rather slow
Why after 0-0-0 isn't d4 Nd2 e5 just good for black?
And what was the problem with Ra7 after Bc8?
Hey Stjepan - I just noticed, going through your game, that you played 64. Kd5 Rd1+ [error!!!!!] cos he missed BxR [game over] so 1-0?!!! So...no draw then?!
I don't like this line either, but with this move order you can just play 2...d4 and get a Van Geet which is instantly equal for Black and somewhat fun, being a bit novel.
Why not 2...d4? Seems like a very comfortable game for black. Still a fight, but black may retain a slight advantage and doesn't get attacked right away.
What a beautiful game. Immensely enjoyed this.
In his chessable course Erwin L'Ami recommends 7...Qb6 and says the line is bad for white, maybe something to investigate.
you should have gone for d4 after e4 from white, gaining space. I think that's the best option deviating from carokann.
I think that 1. Nc3 would be vastly more popular if 1... d5 didn't exist as a reply to it; still, people who play the Van Geet/Dunst in the first place are almost 100% certain to know those critical main lines for White, so I understand why some would like to avoid it from the Black side, despite getting a slight theoretical advantage.
@@Scientist93 got it.
You are the expert here but I was under the impression that 7. ... Qb6 is the modern mainline (at least from 2018 onwards)
Was it only me screaming 24.Kn e6...kn f4 to isolate the q from the rooks and attack the bishop but before exchanging queens. Love your vids many thanks
Yes I was screaming too
K d7 prevented the queen coming down in first place
Hasn’t white got Qxe5?
First time here for me. Seems like a good channel but you have got to fix the sound issues
I lost it when you played Qe6. The bishop sac is so obvious. Ne6 was the only move.
Blunder at move 65 . Bxd1
52:26
Bishop e3 is impossible for a white bishop.
hey stjepan, love your channel, but the background humming noise makes it hard to watch some of these videos. You should consider investing in a noise gate.
64. ... Rd1+?? was a complete blunder that your opponent also failed to see.
65. Bxd1 was the simple win for White
Yeah, when I saw that rook move to d1 my immediate thought was game over. Except...wth? 🤪
i was shouting your rook😱😱
When Be6 was played Rxe6 wins for black
Wtf is this variation with white building a queenside pyramid even called?
👍
My man, you saved it by the skin of your teeth.
The title is a bit misleading. It sounds like it is from White's perspective.
Expect to play against it more… You literally advertised to your future opponents that you are afraid of it.
Or...maybe that's what he *wants* them to think...bwahaha
ooooh my goooood czcams.com/video/PYKUuGbdeCA/video.html he miss that he can take Bxd1 what the???
also to make this win better you actually beat a NM known as darkunorthodox88 so congrats!
Really his opponent is an NM? how do you know
