      Each persons sensitivity to copper depends. Some it can be great and some it can be harmful. Copper itself is antibacterial and like she said it competes with Zinc.

    I had something similar with my skin for years and what helped was a simple zinc supplement and topical Sudocrem that you can get at Coles or woollies for a couple of dollars, which also has zinc in it. Life changing 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

    i developed really bad fungal acne in bali and singapore too! i remember having one or two breakouts over the years before my vacation because it can get humid in my hometown (toronto) in the summetime but singapore truly made my skin horrific lol. HOWEVER it helped me discover my issue so i'm thankful! i don't know if you know by now but taking daily probiotics also helps balance the bacteria internally thereby fighting fungal acne! i'm doing that and i think i will continue to do so longterm. your skin looks great, can't wait until i'm there too :))

    thank you so much for this video!! i'm shocked by how similar our stories are. i went on the copper IUD around this time three years ago, and though it claims to be "hormone free," i broke out so badly from it. i attributed initially breaking out to be from going off the BC pill, so i went back on my BC pill with the IUD in, had some luck with that after a few months, and then boom... all hell broke loose! a couple months after i had the IUD removed, my skin went back to normal for the most part. but shortly after my big break out/IUD removal, i developed what i now know to be folliculitis. when i have a folliculitis breakout, i also get bumps on my forehead and the little identical pustules all over my cheeks/chin area. i'm currently in the process of changing my routine to be fungal acne safe. i hope i can get it under control!!

  • @aylaruby2376

    Thank you so much for sharing,😍
    I had similar to you! I was put on Estelle contreceptive at the age of 18 which was to help with my skin, which it did! But in my early 20's I started getting hormonal cystic breakouts so my gp put my on doxycycline which I stayed on for 5 years 😱 I was to scared to stop it as my skin was so clear, the odd spot.
    I've recently stopped contraceptive and doxycycline 5 months ago and OMG! I got fungal infected pimples on my chin, coldsores, hormonal spots along jaw line.
    Other side effects weight loss 11kgs just dropped off me, and I've had vertigo alot which is crystals in my ear are off balance and I get dizzy!
    It's been a crazy journey, but I had realized its all down to my diet, sleep and general well-being ♥
    And finding a good healthy skin care. (BUT)
    Antibiotics are the worst! You get hooked, I felt horrible when I came off doxycycline.
    I feel your pain 😢
    I'm safe to say I've been the healthiest I've been in a long time.

    Xoxo
    I had Malisis faliclitis on my chin it was horrible and so painful I was given a week worth of antibiotics and and a ointment, They were tiny little white heads all clustered together very itchy.. It healed within a week so so sore!
    Have you heard of eco tan their products are Amazzing and natural 💕 I have so much more to say but I won't. I feel like we have similar skin xx

      @ElsasWholesomeLife  Před 4 lety

      Wow thanks for sharing your story! 💘 it’s crazy the side effects hey! Can I just ask, with the malessezia folliculitis you got on your chin after- you said they put you on antibiotics? But that would worsen fungal acne? Just checking because that seems counter intuitive to fungi 🙈 so glad to hear you’re in good health now

    • @aylaruby2376
      @aylaruby2376 Před 4 lety

      @@ElsasWholesomeLife yes that's right my doctor put me on a week's course of antibiotics and a lotion and called it the name you mentioned 😱 😱 what happened was I popped one of the tiny pimples not thinking.... And it spread I've had it twice in the same part of my chin over 2 years.
      I initially thought it was a coldsore so was wearing a patch but no.
      He said to me antibiotics are the best for any sort of skin issue as its a quick healing affect, and he gave me the right fungal lotion to apply, I'll check I still have some left and tell you the name.
      Since I've come off both medications Ive found an Amazzing skin care range at the moment I'm using eco tan products and raww cosmetics are Amazzing also ♥

    This is what I have! I thought it was just spots for so long, until my mum told me it wasn't normal to get these spaced apart, uniform little spots on my back, thighs and chest. I was taking zinc, tried changing my soap and tried all sorts of spot treatments, and I'd never had acne before in my life.
    Tried using an anti-fungal cream but the spots came back immediately after I stopped using it :( Probably going to see a doctor and get some sort of oral anti-fungal treatment next.

    Weird, I’ve had my copper iud for 3 years and love it. Insertion was fine, adjusted to it after a couple of months, period has returned to normal (no excessive cramping/bleeding from my normal). I already took mega doses of zinc for my skin (and was also advised taking this supplement was a good idea re the copper toxicity issue), so have noticed no apparent related issues there. I’ll literally praise it to anyone who will listen! I am also chronically iron deficient and my periods have never been, nor have they become heavy, since getting the copper iud. Can I just say, to anyone contemplating a copper IUD, don’t let yourself be swayed by either horror stories (like Ellie’s) or unicorn experiences (like mine, I guess). Talk to your doctor, do your own research, and have realistic expectations. Good luck!

    I think it’s a bit misguided saying the copper IUD will cause very heavy and more painful periods. Every individual is different. I’ve had 3 non-hormonal copper IUDs with wonderful experiences. They don’t make my periods painful or heavier.

      Doctors told me that nothing was wrong with me, or that I just have cysts.
      Honestly I think I may have endometriosis but I don’t have insurance anymore so I don’t have the resources to find someone who can help with why I’m experiencing symptoms.

    this is unfortunately the story of every healthy vegan's life. i dont know if you're vegan but.. ya i eat mostly raw and avoid sugar and grains & my body has been detoxing all the time. fungal acne is a bitch. its always something :( sometimes it makes me just want to eat unhealthy again so my body will stop reacting to everything. my friend studies plant based detox nutrition and i dont know how all of it works, but i just know my reactions to foods. And since I started eating mostly raw i've had so much pop up. Its no wonder a lot of people quit veganism - its tiring... but as my friend always says, its better to have a bunch of annoying little problems now than a couple huge problems later in life.

    • @Corn22
      @Corn22 Před 4 lety

      umm you should probs my eat grains if you aren’t allergic...as well as cooked foods to ensure you’re getting proper nutrients and your skin isn’t suffering because of an unbalanced diet. a lot of skin conditions are genetic unfortunately but a balanced diet with good probiotics is important, and a plant based diet is among the healthiest in the world IF it is done correctly...eating good foods shouldn’t make you “detox”. your body is constantly “detoxing” through normal liver and kidney function. check in on your blood work and make sure you’re eating enough/etc!
