About this video:
The Cast Of Hairspray The Musical perform You Can't Stop The Beat. From the programme broadcast on 17 June 2021. - Hudba
The lyric change to “and it sees both white and black” is beautiful.
Marisha Wallace giiiirrrrrlllll!!!! This lady just has effortless vocals. I couldn’t breathe just watching not one of them missed a beat. Fantastic guys well done
Thank you ! Xxxx
Everyone needs to match Marisha Wallace's energy and joy. Why all the serious faces?! You can literally see so many people thinking through the choreography.
@@joannehills140 I mean this is before the show is even opened to an audience. The show doesn't have it's first performance till this coming Monday. That performance was after they had already been performing for a while and had found their footing. This was also performed without an audience, and a live audience gives you energy. But that being said, you can totally tell that the actors aren't fully comfortable in their roles yet.
Marisha is such a star and really shines in every role she takes, I was lucky enough to see her as Effie White at the Savoy and she was breathtaking
Marisha got a thunderous standing ovation after singing I Know Where I’ve Been in opening night, blows the roof off every night. Super production, if you can get tickets it is highly worth seeing
It was the first time we’d been in costume, wigs and on the stage xxxx
I don’t think I have ever seen a bad production of this play , it looks amazing !!
🥰 it’s honestly so much fun!!!!!!
One of the best productions I saw was the All School Muscial performance in my hometown in which all the schools in the area came together to perform Hairspray. Easily one of the best productions I have seen of the show.
People! At face value it's fluff but underneath you just won a big victory for civil rights! Anger and frustration has turned to triumph! Celebrate it with urgency! Energy! The audience is paying to see you have fun on that stage! Let it loose!!!
The perfect show for the return to live theatre! "You Can't stop the beat", because the beat can't and won't be stopped!
❤️❤️❤️
Anyone else hear this and think 'Karim and Amy' - pure Strictly magic!! ❤️
Definitely not
@@cannotthinkofausername6379 oh dear! Well have a good day anyway
Me 🤣

Absolutely fantastic! Michael Ball is awesome as Edna.
Amazing!! Can't wait to see Mr. Ball back in action again!

👏🏻👏🏻
My favourite musical
I like the 2007 version
I love Les Dennis 💕
Is Michael bell doing it on tour
yo
Travolta killed in this role (in the movie)
How on earth was Les Dennis cast? How on EARTH.
Why not? He’s an actor?
Lizzie Bea as Tracy she is ace.
She’s a tad annoying tbf
Why?
@@richardwarner7438 she just too annoying to be Tracy
Algum Brasileiro ?
Am I having a weird hallucination or is that Les Dennis?!
It is
Does anyone know what motermouth Mabel is saying instead of i t don't know white from black?
it sees both white and black
Why did they change it? BLM?
@@ciaranmarsh255 mainly because those running the revival found that being "colour-blind" is stupid and instead wanted people to see the difference in skin and celebrate it
No, it’s “and it don’t know white from black”
@@christianebusani that's the original lyric. It was changed to "sees both white and black."
Disappointed they missed out Penny & Seaweeds chorus
Is everyone blind and deaf?
Why?
michael balls
Have to admit. Not a fan of this version. It seemed incredibly complacent. Just my opinion
Ok I’m not the only one cause
It’s not the same as the show, this version was just for the one shows xxxx
why the lyric change? totally unnecessary
whats the change?
If they were going to change the line, it would have made more sense for it to be "cuz tomorrow is a brand new day, and it don't see white or black". Meaning, that color won't matter in the future. People won't see color, they'll just see people
Because there's an issue called "colourblindness" where people pretend they don't "see" racial differences and use it as an excuse to disregard racism instead of acknowledging it and trying to find a way to end it.
That's what the new line does, it acknowledges racial differences and makes them equal regardless.
@@nathancreek6086 there is an issue where far too many people wish there to be differences and division and will portray black people as weak and in need of constant help in order to make them the perpetual victims required to push their own political narratives.
We have corporations using race for profit now, it is far worse in my view than any perceived racism problem in society.
Bought your "george floyd" inspired ladies underwear yet from M&S?
This Tracy is a bit annoying
