    Im happy to have my 4K upgraded to a classic 6K maxed out Rig. My rig is 90% similar and I love the BM colors. Every project I earn more experience for clients and my art. Thanks, good work. Best Dominik

      Thanks for watching man! And glad to know you're happy with your gear and your work :)

  • @michelangelotorres_filmmaker

    This video reminded me of when years ago, on a Linkedin group, I received a series of insults for having proposed the BMPCC 6K (the 6K pro hadn't yet been released on the market) as a camera for documentary filmmaking. Judging by the comments below I must say instead that you have built a healthy community made up of good guys, far away from the toxicity that is felt elsewhere.
    Anyway, the setup I would use is BMPCC 6K G2 (or a Sigma FP) with cine-modded Contax Zeiss lenses: an all-arounder, a nifty-fifty, and telephoto (Sonnar 135mm f2.8 might be an option).
    Not a big fan of zoom lenses, but I recognize their usefulness in certain scenarios. Unfortunately, there don't seem to be any good quality vintage zoom lenses and one thing I would love to see come out on the market would be some sort of affordable Angenieux zoom lens, maybe Meike could make something like that, let's see.

    • @OfTwoLands
      @OfTwoLands  Před rokem +1

      Some people love to give their negative input and lots of keyboard warriors out there unfortunately. Sorry you had that kind of experience. I am lucky with my audience, yes :)
      And I agree the zooms never have the same quality as my other lenses but are so useful for doco and travel work, and the IS helps a ton sometimes.
      This year I definitely want to get my hands on some cine zooms and see if it bridges that gap.

    i absolutely love my G2. yeah it's not the smallest thing, but when i absolutely just want something to toss in a bag when i'm out and about, that's what my BMPCC OG is for, but yeah the G2 is just a stunningly fantastic body, and I do have the Meike FF Prime 35mm T2.1 with a Aria black mist. So i may look into that power supply. I have the Blackmagic battery pack for the G2, but it just makes the thing taller, and kind of makes adding my Tilta follow focus a bit tricky.

    • @OfTwoLands
      @OfTwoLands  Před rokem +1

      The 6K G2 is such good value and I bet the 35mm Meike FF is awesome! Love those lenses :)
      Personally I prefer to use the battery pack since you can remove it and still use the regular cage.

    I go with the S5, smallrig cage, crane 2S gimbal with follow focus, lumix 50mm f1.8 & Surri T1.5 anamorphic, variable ND (1-10) . A 5" bestview monitor (not recomended since LCD is coming unglued from box). Mics are either a wired or wireless lav, or a cheap Boya on camera. May upgrade to the S5 II at the next black friday sales (for the auto focus).

    One thing to note: The SmallHD Action 5 actually has way less features than the old Focus to protect their more expesnsive models. Focus Peaking is missing for example, it only has focus assist (which I hate).

    Amazing as usual!! Thanks a lot. One question about the "Backup" - i shoot Weddings or smaller Start Up Companies. I usually use a Samsung T5 1TB, but i am always scared if suddenly the Samsung crashes down with all the footage on it. How do you "save" yourself in terms of backup (especially for wedding kind of shots, long days)? Thanks and keep going.

    • @OfTwoLands
      @OfTwoLands  Před rokem +1

      Thank you!! That is one of the reasons that I prefer to use Cfasts and I keep the Samsungs for backup to actually store the files so I have two copies at all times in two different spots. I have around 3 Cfasts and 2 or 3 T5s for storage on each shoot usually.

    Great video, thanks for sharing mate! Personally I absolutely love my OG BMPCC and I use it when I can, but more often than not (when the corporate clients demand higher resolution, as they often times do) I'll go with my Lumix S5, GH5 or G9. Still great tools. Anyhoo, cheers!

    • @OfTwoLands
      @OfTwoLands  Před rokem +1

      Thanks for watching!! The OG pocket is still such a good little cam, especially for personal projects! And I've got a few friends shooting on the GH series and they love it!

    • @qvarfoto
      @qvarfoto Před rokem

      @@OfTwoLands Yes the OG has a certain filmic look that's quite unbeatable at the price and size. I've looked at getting a BMPCC6K for a while, but I currently don't really have the need to own one. I've hired the Ursa for bigger projects and I love it, but for me personally it just doesn't make sense owning. Perhaps in the future :)

    I’m rocking a RED Komodo with full Contax Zeiss set of primes. Still have my 6K Pro as a backup but I’m honestly looking to sell cause if I need a B cam I can just rent.

    • @OfTwoLands
      @OfTwoLands  Před rokem +1

      Nice!! I've always been super interested by the Komodo. What do you think about it compared to the 6K Pro since you have both?

    • @TheJairoObando
      @TheJairoObando Před rokem +1

      @@OfTwoLands It's the perfect entrypoint into the RED ecosystem in my opinion. I love that the Komodo FOV is a bit bigger, in fact with the Canon Speedbooster its ever so slightly larger than full frame.
      As I'm starting to work with legitimate colorists/editors etc they appreciate the familiarity of R3D files as well.
      When it comes to BRAW vs R3D I would say BRAW is not terribly far off from R3D but it is better, given the price point between the cameras its expected.
      The form factor was one of the biggest things for me, I didn't want a plastic camera anymore, I needed something I could take in rough environments and rig up a lot if need be. Also unfortunately, the "legitimacy", you're afforded by RED is something to take into account with clients, I think its ridiculous but it holds a little weight. Overall, I love the Komodo, the workflow is definitely slower and more expensive but I'm not doing one man band stuff anymore really so it works for me.

    Hey Flo, have you had any issues with the top flap of your matte box flapping in the wind? I have the Smallrig Mini Matte Box Lite, and it's so lightweight that slight wind rattles it. Curious if you've had this issue and a solution.

    • @OfTwoLands
      @OfTwoLands  Před rokem

      Hey, not really! That being said I use the Tilta Mini and the NISI C5 more. If it is really windy then I will try not to use a matte box altogether to reduce wind resistance.

      Thanks for watching!! I always put a general link for Smallrig since the handle I use is quite old and different from the newest ones and their products on amazon is often sold out. My cage is the main 6K Pro cage and with it you can attach a mic directly via cold shoe. :)

    J’ai à peu près ton setup mid-range, mais j’utilise aussi beaucoup le tokina 11-16 ainsi que le canon 35mm f2 pour son IS. J’aimerais bien dans le futur ajouter un objectif pour avoir un certain caractère par exemple pour des clips, et je me tâte entre le meike que tu montres ou un contax zeiss 28mm. T’en penses quoi?

      Merci d'avoir regardé! Le Tokina a l'air d'etre vraiment sympa. Cette année pour ma part j'ai pas mal envie de tester des zooms cine.
      Alors les deux objectifs te donneront du caractere. Tout depend de ce que tu recherches. Les Meike sont s35 et de vrais objectifs cinema et le Zeiss est plus dur a trouver, il faut le modifier mais couvre plein format. Me conseilles-tu d'en acheter en 4/3 ou direct en monture EF avec adaptateur et je pourrai les utiliser sur une 6K éventuelle plus tard? - Merci pour ton retour
