If you had suppressed the Industrialists and/or the Church you probably would have avoided the civil war. Giving up a few small consumption taxes would have been relatively painless.

Just a suggestion, maybe you could also show the demographics in the country so we can see the assimmilation and increased higher SOL employement (Peasants to laborers and then laborers to machinists, clerks and engineers)

what happened with the immigration button was that u had already reached the immigrant target (if I'm not mistaken it's 30M) before researching Civilizing Mission
May have already gotten that, I can't recall as such.
Iberian-American countries are so hard to play in Vicky 3 they start with no literacy and education and bad population.
But Mexico *can* pull through with its additional provinces and higher relative population. But it's a tough game with them, for sure!
