- A tour of the location for the movie Follow That Dream. Special thanks to Stephen Morse, whose exceptional words on Elvis' acting in Follow That Dream can be read at the end of this video. Mr Morse resides in Stoke-on-Trent, NOT Stroke-on-Trent. Is it Anne Helm or Joanna Moore at 00:54?

Lovely, beautiful scenes. Thanks✌👑👼❤🌹
One of the best Elvis movies,he's so loose and relaxed in it not so stiff like in so many other movies..And the lead song is one of the best ,going along with the massive hit like Can't help falling in love with you. Great stuff in that film. !!
Great movie. Wonderful behind the scenes. Really well done.
One of his best movies. I hang out at Bird Creek Bridge every now and then when I drive to the gulf, and it's even more special that most of the movie was shot there.. The film was shot in my area. Inglis/Yankeetown(45 minutes from me north of Crystal River) mostly, and the surrounding areas. Nature has reclaimed the beach they made for the movie, but it's basically the same except for the power plants you can see from the bridge and were first built in 1966. It's very peaceful at night with the gulf breeze blowing and a good place to fish. My Grandma and Dad were big Elvis fans, and they passed it on to me. I was born four years after Elvis died. Inverness-14 miles from me-was the sight of the courthouse scene.
I love the bank scene in this movie it really showed Elvis talent as a comedian as well as a serious actor yes he was able to adapt to any role he did it superbly
One of his best and funniest films!
Question. How is possible to be that gorgeous? And inside and out.
One of my favorite songs too. His voice range is amazing.
He was a true freak of nature. No other human looks like that.
Wonderful. My fave Elvis film
Presley's gift for light comedy was superb, herein, one of cinema's finest understated deadpan comedic performances. Today, he might glom an Oscar nod. Then, it was dismissed by elitist urban critics who misperceived him as playing what they saw as his own character - an ignorant, backwoods, hillbilly. In fact, Elvis had an acute understanding of human character & perhaps the most exquisitely refined interpretation of screen dialogue & song lyrics of any communications artist in the business.
love that song angel from follow that dream
Thank you for sharing this. It was very enjoyable.
Thanks for posting this interesting insight into the making of Follow That Dream. I saw it at a theatre in 1963, it was brought back to our local theatre 2 yrs. after the original release.
One of his musicals that has some decent acting in it to make it an enjoyable film to watch.
this is my favorite movie of all of the Elvis movies. It was filmed 50 miles from where I grew up and live. I finished high school in 1963. Elvis was a big star with us in school. Follow that dream is a feel good movie. We need more like it.I might go to the area one day where the movie was filmed . It would be neat. Lost a treasue when Elvis died. I know when and where I was when I heard of his passing and the person who told me. Couldn't believe it. Great slide show and thanks!
Can I ask if you seen him in person :) and how old are you already then?
This is undoubtedly his best comic role, playing a superb dead pane comic role and the songs are great also... He really could act if given the script and direction..
TOTALLY AGREE!!!
Great video. Really interesting. Good to see that a lot of the area hasn't changed
Elvis is the King 👑
One of his best films in a while. Decent plot without Elvis being a race car driver or whatever. Good songs throughout.
Elvis was and still is the coolest on screen with what he had to work with did a job no other actor could pull of with his style and charisma sure some of the songs were not grammy material but they were fun and blended with the script remember those who love you understand your enemies never will and people treat you according to how they see themselves as dolly sang we will always love you Elvis God Bless !!
Ron Young
Clearly you haven't heard what's "Grammy"material is now!! 😀I totally agree with what your saying here. I still go back & watch his movies again & again when there's nothing on (in 2018!) worth watching! So that means I watch A LOT of old Elvis movies!! 😂Call me old fashioned, but there's a sweet innocence about them, no cussing or explicit sexual content like most movies contain now. I prefer the "Hitchcockian" less is more theme, use your imagination to fill in what you can't see in detail!! God, I'm official old & thinking & speaking like my mother!! 😃And actually, that's not anything to be ashamed of in these times... right?? LOL!!

King Creole= Elvis' best serious/dramatic film.
Excellent! Thank you for sharing with us.
Terrific video, good work, nice humor about the contract and good ending with that review contrasting Elvis' performances in Dream and Star.

Really Interesting!!! THANK You for Posting!!!
I live in Yankeetown. My father and Grandfather has too. They lived on an island near the location by the Bird Creek bridge this was filmed at the time.
Nice video - good work.
Yes! Good Elvis Movie filmed in my home state of Florida:)
So So Cool Mr. Elvis!!
On this day in 1962 {April 11th} the Elvis Presley movie "Follow That Dream" had its world premier in Oscala, FL {I'm also wondering why Oscala}
Co-star Arthur O'Connell was nominated twice for an Oscar for 'Best Supporting Actor' {'Anatomy of a Murder' in 1960 and for 'Picnic' in 1956}
The theme song entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart on May 12th; eventually it peaked at #15 and spent 10 weeks on the Top 100...
R.I.P. Mr. O'Connell {1908 - 1981} and to The King {1935 - 1977}...
Very enjoyable presentation. Thanks!
Great movie. Have to visit these locations some day.
This is my 2nd favorite Elvis movie, the 1st being King Creole......
Really love and appreciate these videos. Thanks.

elvis forever the king of music...thank god brother bob followed his dream...tcb.
That was so nice thank you.
Cool video, thanks, I really enjoyed it. I knew Tom Petty met E on set, but didn't know his Dad worked on the crew.
Fantastic. Excellent work. I've subscribed.
I've been there, loved it!
Terrific!!!

I swear i watch this movie with my dad in one night's on of local tv channel's first time this in 80S and i was teenaged , and since that that time I didn't find this movie till now * the point is I get so stuck in this movie views.
Elvis you were really Angel .
Enjoyed, Thanks
The comment at the end has been lifted from my review on IMDB but I did not create this video (I wouldn't know how!) ; and I live in Stoke-on-Trent, NOT Stroke-on-Trent :-).
Fantastic Production ! Very Interesting Information too.Great job on this.
I'm sure he could have been a good actor if his Management had allowed him to be. But records came first, followed in the 70's by a return to performing on stage. He will be remembered more for his music than he will be for his movies.
Elvis should have "stuck to his guns when it came to renegotiating his contract" with "the Colonel" I enjoyed the movie and the music as well
Well done video...I enjoyed it!
very fun video
wow ! I believe !
It was not Tom Petty's father who worked on this film. Petty's uncle, Earl Jernigan, owned a film supply company and he worked with any film production that came through this part of Florida. Also, young Tommy was 11 years old at the time and, immediately upon seeing Elvis (and the hoopla surrounding him), vowed to become a Rock Star..
Thank you for the clarification.
Very interesting
film trés drôle et plaisantj'aime
I've been to Crystal River Florida. Next time im going to check out the bridge and the hotel they stayed at
This was really good and Wild in the Country.
It's Joanna Moore at 00:54
No one must read your description for I see no one answered your question. That looks more like Joanna Moore in that picture. I don't think it is Anne Helm. I understand how it could be hard to tell but that looks more like Joanna's eyes.
I wish florida fishing was like that today.
where`s your pop, in that wood pile next door.....well, he wasn`t in the wood pile when i left :D
Why don't they show this movie on Sunday afternoons? I remember the movie well. We had just moved to Leesburg after my Dad retired from the USAF.
💝🕊🦋
Forget Elvis. I came to see Ann Helm!
I am about 7 1/2 hrs NW of here! Not really a hop, skip and a jump, but, still in Florida I am. :-)
Steve - Thanks for your message. I have tried to send a reply but I'm not sure it has been 'sent', so here it is :
"Hi Steve,
You have not offended me at all - quite the reverse - I was flattered to see my comments included ! As you can tell, I love FTD the film and its great location scenery. I can quite understand your having made a small typo in copying the words 'Stoke-on-Trent' so, by all means, keep my comments included.
Keep up the good work !
Regards,
Steve Morse"
I live there
....I have to follow that dream....
The social worker played by Joanna Moore was Tatum O'Neil's mom
Just bought movie but can't find blueray DVDs and add soundtrack all songs this movie. Can't find it at Target stores or Best Buy. If one bought get scratch blueray last longer. Easy store my collection. Thanks my old next store neighbor buy me blueray player for my birthday. One good Quality sound. Thank you.
Tom Petty's UNCLE on his mother's side (mother's sister's husband), not Tom Petty's FATHER as stated in the clip, worked in the film industry.
Good get. I made quite a few mistakes here. Hope you liked the video in spite of it. :-)
He filmed were im liven now crystal river fl
This is my favorite Elvis movie.. Some of the scenes are really funny. I don't really like most of his movies. This one is classic. Elvis in the bank is my favorite scene.
Cool video, what songs did you have in it
James Sero, Elvis movies declined after the early 60's because he wasn't getting the right material, but his music was always great, for example, the comeback(1968) and the 1973 satellite show in Hawaii. The Beatles were the greatest group and Elvis the best solo artist of all-time.
@0:57 Joanna Moore or Ann Helm's feet beside ELVIS?? 🤭. 8-7-22
No one has been able to locate Elvis' look alike cousin from the movie.
God they just don't make men like Elvis anymore... 😢😢
