How do you homeschool?
Yes! I love the idea of just continuing school through the summer. Keeping them interested and always learning!
Nia, I love that you do school work throughout the summer. I think that is so smart! I didn't even think about doing something with my 3 year old... now you got me thinking! ALso, love how you interact with your kids. Good job momma!
+T&D Life haha awww! I'm glad it was informative for you!
Nia's Nest is get back I owe
Nia's Nest is get
Nia! A fun part of your worship time is a classic music lesson.
You take a story book they're familiar with, and have them assign musical sounds/dance moves to it. Then they get to tell the story with the sounds and dance moves!
Makes story time more involved, creative, imaginative and fun! Also it really boosts retention!
Have fun!
As of right now, my daughter goes to a public school, but I've been giving a lot of thought to homecoming. Thank you for for showing us your homeschool schedule & what you like to use.
I have been homeschooled for the past eight years! This is my senior year now, and I am so grateful that my mom took us out of school! I think you would be great at homeschooling!
I love how you incorporate homeschool with your kids over the summer. It's so helpful in keeping the things they've learned in the previous year fresh in their minds for the coming year. We homeschool year round and I'll have a 2nd grader, kindergartener, preschooler, and a new newborn this year! : )
+Taming the Frizz how many hours a day do you homeschool the oldest two since you do it year round?
We start around 10am after breakfast a little free play time. We usually are finished by 11:30, in time for me to make lunch while they watch a short educational DVD. We focus on reading, writing, and math at this age, though they will get history and science exposure each week at our Classical Conversations co-op. We do read alouds, Bible time, and hands on "life skill" type learning too, which I don't count as school time. ; ) We love Seeds Family Worship music as far as worship and scripture memory goes! (it's free steaming on Amazon Prime music)
I love those state cards. I will definitely need to pick them up for our homeschool room.
I starts homeschool with my prek. Right now. Thank you for sharing.
LOVE the worship time you incorporate into your homeschool day! You've inspired me to add more of that into our daily routine! Loved doing this collab with you, Nia! 💕
same to you natalie!!
Nia, I think that your mother skills are out of the park they are amazing. Your children should be very thankful to have you as a mother.
I love the worship idea!! This is something I'm going to start incorporating into our day! Look into a University Model Scool. It's what we do with our kids. Basically they go to class Christian School 2 days a week and then I home school 3 days a week. The school gives me the curriculum to use, which helps keep me on check. We absolutely love it.
Love this! I'm still in high school (senior!) and I have been on and off homeschooled since 5th grade. I would definitely say homeschooling has allowed me sooo many opportunities especially with my faith! It has taught me maturity and also self discipline when it came to school work and that has helped me to be more disciplined in my own life with other things as well.
I love the brain quest books and time for worship! It's so sweet to watch them sing and dance💜
I think doing the schoolwork in the summertime is ingenious! My son is only 9 months old but after watching these videos, I feel like homeschooling is definitely the route I'm going to be taking! Thank you for the video!
My oldest just turned 3 & I plan to start a homeschool routine in September.
Love the idea of doing the summer school! When I have kids, that is something I would love to do with them!
love the times table flash cards love that you incorporate worship into the day.
I am absolutely loving these collab videos that you gals have put on. We start homeschooling preschool this fall and I'm really excited. I appreciate all the insight and different perspectives everyone has on homeschooling. It's awesome!
Thank you for the tips and the tool suggestions! Love the State flash cards.
I was really excited to see this. My daughter starts prek this year, and I was wanting ideas. This helped a lot. Thank you :)
Summer school! That's so great that you stay active with them in the summer.
+Lydia Senn i try to! It's not daily, but it works for us!
We have just started full time home school and we are loving it but I have so much to learn :)
+The Buchanan Family oh wow!! That's incredible! Good luck!
we love using the brain quest books we have the pre k one right now too! we do bible story before starting school. but love the worship time. this is something id love to incorporate. it was awesome doing this collab with all you mamas 💜
I love how you integrate homeschool with school outside the home! Thanks for the tips...definitely going to order some brain quest books for supplement. Thanks!
+Krystal Kemp we love them! Thanks!
Thank you for sharing such great tool for teaching your kiddos! I have a 3 almost 4 years old little girl and we're starting to work on pre-k stuff now! So fun watching them learning!
i loooove when Abram traces letters...then attempts them on his own...his excitement is through the roof! even if it doesn't look exactly right!
So neat. Not a full time homeschool mom but my 3 year old is getting ready to start preschool and I'd love to have new material to work with him at home.
i love doing it part-time!
I have a 3 year old as well! I didn't even think of doing pre-preschool things! I need to get on my game!
Love the simple ideas for the summer!
Hi, Nia. We Homeschool using K-12 but I also add in my own curriculum as well by purchasing books, flash cards ect, an even throw in craft an music time. We gotta make learning fun, so the kids will be interested right?😉
Thank you Nia! We are starting our journey in homeschooling!!
I love everyone in this collab because there are such different points of view
Love teaching my kids about the 50 states. I remember loving learning about them in school
+Victoria Bristow same here! The states and capitols have always been a fav of mine! I'm not good with geography at all though! So showing symphony the shapes of the states early on was important for me!
I appreciate the wealth of information I'm finding on CZcams about home schooling. It's not really an option for us at this point, but I'm gathering all of the resources I can find in case it does become a possibility in the future. Thank you for sharing your journey.
I'm trying to establish a routine with my almost five year old. Thank you for sharing yours.
+Leah Hinrichs it's hard to get it going, but once you have it in place it's a game changer!
We homeschool using a variety of curriculum, very eclectic ☺️ My kids love hands on games I find on Pinterest! You should check out around the house learning activities on there, so much fun!
+Our Appalachian Adventure I used to do some hands on stuff from Pinterest too. I wonder if they were the same?!
Nia's Nest I bet lol.
I've gotten those brainquest books at sams and enjoyed using them for extra reinforcements on top of our curriculum.
Here from Natalie's channel. I think it's cool how you mix 'real' school and homeschooling. that's a great way to see which one your kids respond to best!
Well, I am DEF going to add worship to my routine. Love that SO much! Also, I need to order that workbook for my 3 and a half year old! Loved creating with you ladies in this collab. :)
thanks steffie! same here!
Love those brain quest workbooks! My little step brother just went into the third grade and started at a different school with a more accelerated curriculum so I totally want to look into those to help him brush up on his second grade info and solidify the new third grade info he's being taught. Thanks, Nia!!!!
+Amanda Jones aww thanks!
New subscriber... Coming from Natalie Bennett's channel. I was home-schooled my entire education and I loved it. It's so worth it.
Hello. I really enjoyed your video. I found your video through Lydia Senn's channel on the collab. I like the idea that you are teaching through the summer and I think that is very important to kids, especially as they get older, so they don't forget what they have learned. I really liked the sing and dance praise time you had too. That is really important, probably the most important thing we teach our kids at home. Thank you for sharing.
SUMMER SCHOOL! That is awesome. When I was a kid, I always wanted to do school in the summer, but in my hometown summer school was reserved for delinquents and those who were failing in class(es)
Thanks for sharing what your summer homeschool looks like! Enjoyed your video.
+Mandy Lee thanks!
Watching these videos of homeschooling is making me so exited to be able incorporate it myself
+juanita pretorius aww that's awesome!
Love that you incorporate some learning in the summer. We homeschool 4 kids and one of the main reasons of why we ❤️ it is because of the family time we get! You seem to do such a great job, have you ever considered doing it full-time?
I did it all !!! Great tips for our little ones were debating on homeschooling since i was homeschooled. :)
Thank you for this video and letting me find more mamas to watch!
Love that you homeschool during summer!!!
this is amazing. thanks for posting.
I love this!!! I am definitely going to incorporate this into my kids life
+Nicky Huffman that's so awesome!
We did similar thing and used Brain Quest book with my 7 year old during summer, he likes that book :)
that's awesome!
I never had that occur to me before! That people can home school over the summer. I don't know why. It seems like a total duh! thing. I kind of always saw summer growing up and the time to just do anything and melt my brain with TV. haha. But now that I think about it.... there were times when the start of the next year I would have forgotten a good bit, and would have to relearn. So it makes soo much sense. I also love that you make sure to incorporate worship time and make it fun and active. I think with busy days and schedules it can be an easy thing to forget. So its a great habit to form early. Thanks for the video! And thanks for the giveaway opportunity. Super nice of you guys. :)
This is our first year homeschooling! Our first born was in Kinder last year at a local school and we enjoyed it but my husbands work schedule is crazy and homeschooling gives us much more flexibility plus we can pick our own curriculum.
+Emily Tucker that's so awesome! I'm glad you found something that works for you!
Yay! I needed this badly! We start homeschooling next week, and I'm so nervous/excited! I needed these tips! Perfect! Hope to win the bundle!
Got sent here for the Giveaway, will have to look up those activity books that you use with your kids, they look awesome! Thanks for showing us how you do your homeschooling.
I actually really love all you mom's. I am debating on home schooling my daughter, keep in mind she barely turned one. But I grew up being introduced to reading and writing kind of really early. And I'm excited to do that with my child. I'd love to hear your fears of home schooling and why you think it's a great idea to home school!
Love this!! cant wait!!!
I want those state flash cards!! Those are awesome! Love your family and vlogs!
I do the same during the summer with 6 year old son that is now in the first grade. Good job Nia. Love your mommy thoughts ❤️👍🏼👏🏼

I'm in 10th grade and have been homeschool my whole life. My mom has also homeschool all my 11 siblings all the way through. The past 9 yrs we have used classical conversations which is a homeschool co-op. If you are interested in homeschooling I would definitely recommend and suggest you look into it!
whoaaaaa! mega props to your amazing mom!
So excited to have a support system through CZcams!
Homeschool-ers are totally not appreciated enough! Great job. I'm new to your channel. I've been binge watching videos since I'm really interested in homeschooling my preschooler who loves flashcards! He has an awesome memory so as soon as you described them I paused the video midway and quickly checked it out. They are a bit pricey though so I'm so glad you're doing a giveaway with the book bundle. Thanks :)!!
I love Natalie and i watch you for a long time
Homeschool video- I love this channel and your main channel!! I think you are amazing mom and family!!
We homeschool our children! They are 6, 5, 3, and 1. We are just getting ready to start our "school year" next week. We will have a 1 grader, Kindergartener, and preschooler. Last year my oldest did Kindergarten but we also had a baby with extremely severe colic during her school year too, so last year was chaotic and sporadic with her schooling. This year will be much more scheduled and routine. I'll be learning as we go as to what works for us!
I love those state flash cards! Where did they come from?!
I remember watching you homeschool with Symphony before she entered kindergarten in your vlogs! OMG they are getting so big! I'm currently homeschooling my 5 year old and toddler and post about it on my channel. I would love to see more of your homeschool ideas Nia. You are such a creative momma!
+MyMomLife that's so awesome!
Thanks for sharing!!
I'll have to get that Brainquest book for Eden! She loves learning. We do worship in our house too :) My favorite moments are when David's playing his guitar and we all sing together.
that is so special! Eden will love these books...there's so much to them! what worship playlist do you use?
David does all the playlists in our house! lol we have a mixture of Hillsong, Bethel, Jesus Culture, Housefires, Elevation Worship, Desperation Band. :) I think there is even a "Bethel worship" station on Pandora. For the kids, have you seen the Hillsong kids and Bethel kids music videos?
