Great tutorial! Thank you so much for sharing. They all came out gorgeous! 😍
Thanks so much Sylvia! I’m really glad you liked it 😊
Thank you, Dragena.
My pleasure! ❤️
These look great. I also use old wax melts which smell lovely and sprinkle mica powder on too.
Thank you so much! I haven’t tried with mica but I will as soon as I get some 😊❤️
The napkin makes great washi tape. Use a single layer napkin, wax it, then get some double sided tape layer it down in strips first before cutting the napkin in to washi tape. I make washi not just from napkin but from all sorts of papers including printed tracing paper. Try it it's is beautiful very addictive ❤
Oh, wow! That sounds very interesting. I'm going to try it. Thank you for that ❤️❤️❤️
As well as napkins you can turn any waxed paper that is transparent into Washi tape I make all my washi tape now instead of buying it it just so unique & so addictive everyone please try it you will enjoy the process. Just like to say a BIG Thank You for your wonderful videos I've got some great ideas for my Forest Journal. I'm an artist but during lock down I had a go at making an mini photo album for my daughter now I'm so addicted to junk journaling I've been working on this forest journal for a good few months now so with watching your videos it has given me so many great ideas so I will be able to finish it now so keep your videos coming. Take care Chris xxxx❤️❤️❤️
I watched a woman make her own by laying strips of masking tape what ever width you like laid side by side on a sheet of baking paper, and then she painted and stenciled and stamped the strips. It looked beautiful and original. She said you keep the tapes on the baking paper that way the stickiness lasts on the masking tape if kept that way, and use as required.
Thank you. Its something that would use up that bit of wax left at the bottom of tea lights.
Love them all
Hello from Alabama, USA. I was watching Natasia from Treasure Books, and she was unboxing a Journal she purchased from you. Inside were a few sheets of waxed paper. I had never seen this before, so I had to come look for myself and low and behold just 5 days ago you demonstrated your process. I have already made my towel covered cardboard, ready to pick out papers. Thank you so much for sharing. I have subscribed and am looking forward to watching more of your videos.
Hello and welcome Karen! Thanks so much for a beautiful comment. I really appreciate it. I’m so glad that you liked the video and that you’re going to make some waxed paper. It so much fun!
I’m so grateful to Natasa for that video flip through of my journal, she’s so kind. I love her channel and her tutorials.
I love to share my creative process and it makes me really happy when it’s received well, so thank you again 😊
Did you know you can make some amazing wraps for your foods by using fabric and bees wax? They are made exactly the same way but if you use bees wax they protect your food. You just can’t use them on meat. Great for bowl covers as well.
Thank you for the suggestion. I’ve heard of this but never tried. Perhaps I should. 😊❤️
Amazing results❤
Thank you! ❤️😊
Wow, I never would have thought about trying this technique! Thanks for testing out all th3 different papers!❤❤❤
You are so welcome!❤️
thanks Dragana, nice tutorial as always, cool technique shown in detail and with different materials, very useful. ❤️❤️🌷You always make me want to get to work, I finish watching your videos and I'm excited to try it myself. Thank you for the beauty you share and the positive energy you always radiate. Have a nice joyfull day
I'm so glad you enjoyed it Alessandra! Thank you very much for your beautiful comments. I enjoy reading them always ❤️❤️❤️
@@Saacibo ❤️
Wow! Love this! Good work!😊
Thank you so much ❤️😊
36:10 that translucent envelope looks awesome. The whole video is actually awesome, so much potential. So far for making papers translucent I only tired baby oil. Thanks for such comprehensive and hands-on lesson. I am a bit sick at the moment with a cold but still totally energized by this video and will walk to the nearest store selling candles to pick some and try on my paper. I trust your comment that the iron is not too difficult to clean after such experiments (and if not - well, my crafts are much more important than my cloth, lets face it).
Thank you so much for your kind comment. I hope you feel better soon. Maybe some light crafting boosts your immune system. Crafts are definitely more important than clothes, I agree with you on that😊. Get well soon ❤️
I had to laugh when you said you don't use your iron for clothes. Lol I don't either! Lol Reminds me of when I was buying some large cake pans at the thrift store. Another shopper said "You must do a lot of baking! " I told her I don't bake any more....I use them in my garden for holding potted plants to water them. Lol It amazes me how these papers turned out translucent. So pretty! The butterfly looks great...like a vellum one. And the pink crumpled paper turned out gorgeous. We switched to flameless candles, but thankfully I kept some wax ones...now I'm really glad I did as I'll be trying this too! Thank you for showing us a great way to transform paper. Both your voice and your slight accent are very pleasant to listen to. Congrats on 30 yr. together! Hubby & I are coming up to 58.
Thank you so much Anne! Congratulations to you and your hubby, too. Wow 58 years together is amazing!
I never liked ironing unless it's paper or craft related 🤣 I couldn't see the point, everything gets wrinkled quickly anyway so why waste time straightening it out 🤣
@@Saacibo Thanks! Doesn't time fly when we're having fun? Lol I agree...with the fabrics today, ironing isn't really necessary. There's more important things to iron, like wax onto paper! LOL 🤣
Thank you for sharing this video. I will be giving this a try real soon. The papers turned out beautiful.
You're very welcome! I'm glad you liked it. Thank you so much for watching 😊❤️
Super cool technique, and it looks relaxing too! Thank you for the tutorial. 💕

Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed it ❤️❤️❤️
Great results! Thank you!!
You're so welcome! Thank you! ❤️😊
Phenomenal 💜 💙💜
Thanks so much Steffi ❤️
I tried waxing cotton scraps for book cloth. I used a wax warmer from Aldi for scent ed wax to melt the wax and spread it with a silicone brush. Worked well, no gratingor cutting candles anymore. Planning to try with paper next.
That's a great idea! I should get that wax warmer. No Aldi here, but perhaps in similar stores 😊❤️
This helped me a lot! Keep up the good work :)
Glad it helped! Thanks so much for watching!
Thank you so much, Dragana, for sharing this technique with us. :)
You’re most welcome Juanita. Thank you for watching 😊
This really help me
Thanks so much for watching!
Wonderful tutorial! Love the look of the waxed papers. Also, love your artwork. Thank you for sharing.
You are so welcome! Thank you for watching!
Great video! I've seen others put their hot page between two pieces of paper towel to soak up some of the wax. Doubling up the page is smart too!! Thank you!
You're most welcome! Thanks for watching and for a great tip! ❤️
Yes this is very interesting. Love the idea. I will try for sure.
I'm really glad! Thank you so much for watching 😊❤️
Beautiful and inspirational! Can't wait to try. Please show your stitched projects
Thank you so much!
fun!
Thanks for watching ❤️
Great useful information, I do appreciate this tutorial. Thank you for sharing.
You're most welcome! I'm really glad. Thank you so much for watching. ❤️
Wow great tute. Loved it. I know what I’m doing today 😍😂
Thanks ❤️. I might do some too, I used up all my stash so quickly 😆
Thank you very much. Looking forward to trying this myself. What a beautiful napkin! 😍
Thanks so much Maria. I’m glad you’re going to try it, it’s really fun 😍
@@Saacibo It reminds me of many years ago when I did batik for my A level art and I had to removed the wax from my batik. After dyeing different sections, it is sealed with wax and then further dyeing and waxing and so on. Then when complete, all the wax was removed with an iron and clear newsprint and news paper
Wow, that sounds so interesting and I think that I’d like to try it some day. I haven’t tried that technique but it sounds amazing. Thank you for bringing it up to my attention 😍
Thank you so much. I've done waxpaper before but used titles instead of baking and this will make a huge difference. Thank you
You are so welcome! Thank you for watching 😊❤️
love this technique. I have lots of hand made paper and will try this.
Wonderful! Thanks so much for watching!
What a lovely and inspiring tutorial. How lucky that I have everything I need to try it out. Thank you. `Saacibo
You are so welcome! Thanks so much for watching!
Hello Dragana, Those papers came out beautiful! I am going to try it with some of the papers I purchased from you. I still haven't decided how I am going to use the fabric bundle I purchased from you. It is so lovely, I want to save them for a special project. Be well! Thank you so much for sharing. Francine (from Chicago) ☺
Hello Francine, I'm so glad you liked the papers and fabric bundle. I love waxing digital papers, it makes them look older and I love that look. Thank you so much for watching and supporting me. ❤️❤️❤️
❤❤❤❤❤
I will for sure do this sometime soon. I use baby oil on printed images on regular copy paper and they turn out translucent almost like vellum, but this waxing looks very interesting as well.
Glad you liked the idea! Now that you've mention it, I think I want to try with baby oil. Thanks for watching 😊❤️
This is so cool! I will have to try this. Have you tried to wax tea, coffee, or Kool-aid stained papers? Would the stain lift off in the waxing? Would the stain burn when trying to wax?
Thank you! I haven’t tried to wax dyed papers. I’ve tried with ink jet prints and ink stayed unchanged, no lifting off. 😊
Спасибо! Это было очень интересно и весело смотреть. Я ещё не понимаю, как использовать такую бумагу, но я обязательно сделаю её!
You’re very welcome! Thank you so much for watching 😊❤️
I really like your video's. Got a question. How do you join the papers to use them? Being waxy, what glue holds? Thank you.
I’ve been using all purpose clear acetone based glue. Something like E6000 😊
If you want to streamline this process, skip grating the wax. Just iron the paper until it's warm enough and then rub the wax over the sheet. Saves a lot of effort and you use only the amount of wax you need.
Great tip! Thanks so much! 😊❤️
❤❤❤
Thanks for another great tutorial, I love in tropical North Queensland and I was wondering does anyone have any trouble with the papers melting in the heat, after you have used the in your artwork being journals, cards etc?
Leonie
I would test it by placing a waxed sheet of paper between 2 regular papers and leaving them for a few days to see what happens. 😊
@@Saacibo that makes sense. Thank you I will.
Can you not just use waxed paper that you get in the grocery store vs shaving candles? Thanks for this inspiration! I am going to try some Perfect Pearls or other pigment powders with the wax; especially on the black cardstock
I haven’t tried this with grocery waxed paper. Not sure if it would work. Great idea adding pigment powders! Thanks for watching 😊❤️
What kind of glue do you use with the wax paper when you cut thing out like the butterfly?
I use acetone based glue, such as E 6000 or UHU universal. White craft glue doesn’t really work with waxed papers 😊
I tried this and couldn’t stop. I was going to walk little dog and she gave up me and went to sleep!! I learned what I could do with one sided scrapbook paper. Thank you for sharing this video!
Deborah, you’re most welcome! It is addictive isn’t it. I usually stop when my legs get sore from standing too long 😆. Like you said, it’s great for one sided papers, really quick fix.
I feel bad for the little dog, at least he or she got a good nap😍
Have you tried this with coloring crayons? I think I may try just to see how much of the color transfers to the paper.
No, I haven’t but it’s a great idea! Thank you 😊❤️
What temp is the iron setting pls?
Wax is very hard to glue what are you going to glue it with
I use acetone based glue with waxed papers and so far it worked. Something like E6000
Dragana beautiful video, but you used your iron on wax directly. Doesn't that ruin your iron? I am just wondering.
Not at all! I just cleaned by ironing some paper. All the wax melts off.
I already commented on the paper which I love! I am just curious about how you speak English so well, with barely a trace of an accent?? Did you live in the U.S.? I lived in England but unfortunately not for long enough to pick up their beautiful accent! Just curious, I hope that you don’t mind! I think that you are fabulous and if you don’t want to answer, then I certainly wouldn’t want to pry!!💕💕
Thank you for the compliment. I don't mind answering. I love English, although it is not my native tongue, so I struggle sometimes. I hope it's not too apparent, thank God for video editing software 😆. I lived in Australia for 15 years, must've picked up the accent there. Now days I live in my hometown of Sarajevo, and I don't get to practice conversational English often unfortunately, apart from speaking in the videos I make.
Thank you so much for watching and commenting. I appreciate it ❤️😊
@@Saacibo I admire you! Great job!
It would be easier if you grated it with the fine side of the grater.
Thank you for the tip 😊
Does the wax crack off. After a bit??
It’s been 2 years since I’ve recorded this video and I still have some of these papers. I haven’t noticed any pieces falling off. Some cracks might appear when you fold these papers. 😊
I just found this video, it is just fabulous, and looks so addictive… I will certainly look forward to the ‘ironing’ now !🫢❤️
Great! Glad you liked it. Thanks for watching ❤️😊
