Commisioned 'alumalpha' on fiverr for the new outro screen. Love how it turned out. Hope you do too! I really glossed over the "trust the process" thing at the beginning. @@genoisbored8170 i mean hes good at minecraft, 2800 elo meaning on the former server badlion, where the average player wasaround 1400 elo. evcerytime he won he got one point, a loss costed him around 30 points.
Shadowburnxx 376 I do think so because they knew some of the players that they wanted to show up the most wouldn't be able to play until near the end of the season
I never realised this was 2018 for some reason, I thought it was a retrospective into how they sucked season 1 but came out in full force for season 2.
The future if the shock is a bright one indeed. I never even really paid too much attention until architect came into the roster.... I even remember looking back when the roster was announced and whatever and finding names together I hadn't before. I thought it was strange and even stranger to think so much hype was put into their young players (in all honesty I wasn't TOO aware of super but I knew sinnatra would be serviceable in the least). I'm really happy it worked out especially for the young players and I hope they continue this trend. Great video!
They are going to be dangerous in the seasons to come. Young, hungry and talented and now with a coach who demands nothing but the best from them, it’s sure to be a lethal mix of energy and focus. So excited for them!
Love this series I would like it if went into more detail about certain important matches the team played not an actual analysis but describing how the team and its players performed
I can’t wait for you to review the Houston Outlaws, especially since they were able to beat out the other Texas team, the Fuel, despite having the arguably better roster.
It definitely got gradually more fun to be an SF fan over the season. Hoping we don't pull a Seoul and dissapoint next season. This roster can shock the world indeed!
Lol Houston is my home team but I'm too invested in owl to hold back. We definitely had some rough and questionable moments during the season. I love the roster and the team, and I'm sure they'll work it out with flame tairong and kyky and hopefully we'll see some mendo next season.
Bro this was a great video but you say only the shock are planning for long term success but Boston literally said that was their goal. But really this was a great video!
Boston did the same thing. Honestly Boston was more a team of unknowns. Shock has Babybay and Sinatraa (after he was old enough) while Boston had Striker who was well known in Korea.
Man do i love these videos, u think these are very interesting because i dont care so much about the owl but these are very interesting. Keep it up man!
I'm pretty sure Boston Uprising's intention was also to develop their players as time went on, rather than dominate season 1. I can't be assed to dig it up, but I remember they said similar things before stage 1. Mistakes, Snow, Kellex, are hardly superstars. I think Kazper (rip) and Gamsu's breakout performance was even a surprise to the team.
Another great video. Can't wait to see the upcoming ones since you're hitting the "Middle of the Pack" teams next. Really curious about what your thoughts on Outlaw's highs and lows will be, or if you'll cover the bizarre hate-boner the Comp Overwatch Reddit community had for them.
When I think of tanking, I'm reminded of UrinatingTree when a team is doing absolutely shit and they just go on a phase. In the case of football, there's Tank Bowl where two crappy teams battle where the loser will get the better draft pick. So yeah, we get it.
While I agree with most of the video, I disagree with one thing. They were not tanking. They were not purposely trying to lose. They just were not trying to make finals or playoffs. They didn't really care if they lost or won. The whole season was just about putting the pieces together and maturing. Overall your video was really good though.
Can someone explain why iddqd wasn’t played more often? I remember when I started watching competitive Overwatch that guy was on Fnatic and pretty much the best McCree out there, and it feels like he could still compete
Him continuously saying the reason they didn’t do well was because they weren’t planing to do well this season, just is his way of hiding that his favourite team is bad
I mean...kinda, but is that not what everyone's doing? Ask almost anyone about the shock and they would tell you that even though they underperformed in season one they have all the pieces in place for season two.
Dividing_by_0 yes, everyone is defending their teams for not doing the best, but as a channel who is supposed to be unbiased, maybe state facts like yes they weren’t ready for season 1, but don’t continuously repeat it to make yourself feel bad. I’m rewatching all the other SiRs to see if you were also defending teams but no
"My only question for the Shock is can they put it all together? Despite all the potential, despite having one if the most stacked rosters in the league, they weren't able to make even one stage final." I'm not defending them for how they did in season one. They did bad. I stated that multiple times. But, I think they have more potential for the future than the Dragons, Mayhem and Fuel at the moment. You're acting like this is my opinion and mine alone though when it is the general consensus around the league.
Dividing_by_0 I agree that they have more potential than the mayhem but I disagree with the other two teams. After season 1 there is no way the Dragons can believe they did well so we can expect huge changes and Dallas made the stage finals after all their team pieces were put together, the same season when Shock had all their team pieces together.
Shock looked good in stage 2 but I feel like their roster changes in stage 3 kind of fucked them They lost their synergy and didn't look like the same team again I think season 2 under crusty they will be a much better team
But why have they still kept iddqd? AS expirenced player to help the young guns to succeed and show their maximum potential? If so, SFS could just made a trainer contract with him.
If anyone has watched the Houston Astros they would realize that they had an insanely shitty team for 3 years and then they became a powerhouse and won the world series.

Dividing_by_0 what’s the outro song?
Brenden Pencak darude - sandstorm
And look how they’re doing now, I guess they’re proof patience really is key.

Rwbiix Cube what??
San Francisco Shock is like the Freshman who got all C's and then became a straight A student Senior year
I'm from the future and you were right
They won TWICE

4:33 its interesting that none of these players play for any of those teams anymore
Hello from 2019 right after the Grand Finals.... Looks like the plan worked :)
2020 grand finals too

He protecc
But most importantly
He architect

You talking about architect or Dante cuz he be building things too
Seoul Dynasty next and where it all went wrong for the most hyped team outside of NA
Dude your videos are god tier! These Season in Review are soooo good. Keep it up man!
I love these vids
I really like the redesigned outro picture thing
Thanks! commisioned someone to do it and I love how it turned out.
San Francisco set up this team to be great in the future, but unfortunately had to lose the first season to do so
Miles Clark you sure I mean people thought NYXL were sandbagging to “study” the enemy. things don’t work out as planned always
Shadowburnxx 376 I do think so because they knew some of the players that they wanted to show up the most wouldn't be able to play until near the end of the season
Shadowburnxx 376 that’s a little different. As when the pieces came they improved drastically. As NYXL goal was to win. That didn’t pan out.
NYXL lost due to meta change. Their players aren’t the most flexible
Except he SF Shock worked
I want dividing to revisit this video after the SF shock won OWL season 2
Boy do I have news for you

These SiR videos are top quality. Thanks man
i REALLY love these videos! keep pumping these out these are really great
Great Video!

Nice video ❤ thxs so much for the sir vid make more in the future
I cannot wait for the Houston one.
Dylan Pursley I’d rather watch the Seoul one over the Houston one, but that’s just me
Seoul is next bcs they got 8th overall. Then houston.
Dividing_by_0 I think he already knows that, but then again what do I know
Maybe but just in case.
Lol Houston is my home team but I'm too invested in owl to hold back. We definitely had some rough and questionable moments during the season. I love the roster and the team, and I'm sure they'll work it out with flame tairong and kyky and hopefully we'll see some mendo next season.

look at them now
Definitely need one for each if the rosters. Especially playoff teams. If not just top 4 in Valiant, NYXL, Fusion, and Spitfire.
Boston did the same thing. Honestly Boston was more a team of unknowns. Shock has Babybay and Sinatraa (after he was old enough) while Boston had Striker who was well known in Korea.

The San Francisco’s shock was like a roller coaster sometimes they looked like the gods of overwatch other times they looked like a low tier team

The UrinatingTree if the OWL. Thank you kind sir.
well the thesis of this video looks pretty good right about now
As a shock fan I can’t wait to see them next season
For Most improved player, i think Agilities is also a good Contender, He went to Feed to best Western DPS
SF Shock: Time to roll out the tank
hey man. at 2:43, you made a spelling mistake with Babybay's name. Otherwise, awesome video!
1:36 cmon don’t leave me hanging

That’s what tanking is though... purposely not trying to win now to win in the future
So that worked out huh
it sure did
Seoul Dynasty next? Seoul Dynasty: OWL's Fallen Kings

I think season 2 under crusty they will be a much better team
LETS GO SHOCK SEASON 2!!!!!!!!
yay another SiR let s goooooooooooooo
As a sixer fan I’m very familiar with tanking lol
how do u review all these teams in the different seasons u actually watch all matches again?
plot twist: the players weren’t tanking
when you reach the playoff teams, will you be covering the playoffs in SiR?
Uhh, Toronto esports existed before OWL was even announced. They are not Bostons academy team mate
he was right
But why have they still kept iddqd? AS expirenced player to help the young guns to succeed and show their maximum potential? If so, SFS could just made a trainer contract with him.
Yes more please.
Well i guess it worked
Not sure why you have 4K subs should be 100k or 1mil even
Imagine having 5 DPS players on a 12 man roster and then the meta turns into 3 tanks 3 healers.
“Babyaby”
Not sure I'd really call it a tank...that to me suggests that they were TRYING to lose, and I don't think they were.
If anyone has watched the Houston Astros they would realize that they had an insanely shitty team for 3 years and then they became a powerhouse and won the world series.
Talking about nrg without mentioning nairo
disappionted!
I like how everyone, including the Shock’s expat translator, mispronounce Choi HyoBin’s name.
