Whoever set the stats for Angron might need to see a therapist.
I think they based the unit off of a literal lore-based encounter where Angron's offensive actually 'lost' because the defenders just kept throwing wave after wave of swarming infantry after Angron and he was too preoccupied killing them all to achieve his goal.
In other words, the best way to deal with Angron is to basically pay tribute to the Blood God with a mass sacrifice by sending swarming infantry up and putting them to auto reinforce. They will die one by one and get replaced one by one.
Problem is, they also gave him the ability to call down a Bloodthirster cluster and people can selectively right-click...

I have killed the Swarmlord with Shadowswords and Orbital Lasers. I have never seen Angron be killed.
I think the best thing to balance Angron would be to give him a time limit like the OG Bloodthirster.
Angron isn't supposed to be balanced. If you've let daemons actually get him then you've already lost, he's supposed to end games not prolong them.

Angron made the fights so boring, I wanted to see massive titan smashing but that demon just sliced up everything.
The only strat at the moment seems to be everyone ganking up on demon players and obliterating them

Mr AngryDemonPants would be a lot more interesting if he only healed based on the damage he deals. Only champions of Nurgle have any business freely regenerating infinite health!

For me the MVP of this game was the IG player that was the only one contesting the central energy grid against the Chaos Deamon and SpessWulf

1. The great gargant was crushing grots just being in proximity to them, to titans not have the same in this mod?
2. Angron needs to be fuckin nerfed. I'm all for primarchs being op, especially daemon ones, but he should not be taking focused fire from a warlord and a reaver and barely take any damage
Yeah, I think his health is the first thing to balanced on level of swarmlord. But all his other abilities must not be nerfed because it makes him unic, I guess
He costs the same as a map wide nuclear weapon, I think it's fine

For those trying to figure out how to kill Angron....you don't. Do something to keep him occupied and go after the base.
Well, the Angron situation summarized pretty well why me and a lot other players don't bother with Ultimate Apocalypse (apart from the fps)
For context Angry Ron is THE most expensive unit in the entire game (at least in the build I used to play) and is meant to be the equivalent of an "I Win" button that all races get (which is usually some form of map wide nuke).
There are theoretically ways to kill him but they are few and far between.
If Angron player is not mind bogglingly dumb, than he can just fly away from any trouble
I haven't played this mod for ~7 years now. Can someone please tell me how much it has changed (i.e. what's the new stuff)? Also is it still a nightmare to install? Finally, are there still 'sync errors' now and then?

I dont play UA but from what I have seen Angron should be banned as a house rule. It was a fun game until he arrived on the field and just about ruined the game.
Angron is, in essence, a win button that only exists to end games that last too long. He's like other game enders, but just as a model instead of nukes. You counter Angron by not allowing your opponent to get him, and if it's that late in the game and you're not putting pressure on daemons' base, you're probably not gonna win anyways.
@@tau-5794 that makes sense but I also think it depends on how expensive he is. From what I have seen he is easier to get then other game ending techs which is a big part of the issue.
Besides, its more fun to watch the whole map blow up then watching some big guy slowly slap away at buildings!
He is killable but it’s very difficult, basically paladin hammers have stunlock and ability disabling effect coupled with their banish ability, so if you have 4 squads of paladins with hammers having a go at him while one squad uses banish ability, you keep angron disabled long enough to kill him
@@reclusiarch557 Damn those graynights always seem to be the ones killing all the big units lol. Good to know he can be stopped even if only one faction can do it practically.

Angron is OP, but isnt there a mechanic to kill him?
There is a way, but it’s almost impossible, the way you kill angron is to get him in stunlock with paladins equipped with hammers while one of paladin squad uses banish ability on him, it’s doable against AI but in multiplayer it’s nearly impossible unless the angron player willingly gets him close enough to paladins
