First time goat breeder. Woke up to 2 dead kids this morning. Didn’t think she was that far along. Not sure what caused their death. Really worried about the other three does. One is I’m guessing a month out. The other two about two months out. This was very helpful bc I don’t know exactly when they were bred.

Thanks for the information. I had a doe I thought was due anytime and ended up waiting for another 6 weeks. She was huge and ended up have to very nice kids. We are in our first kidding season. Plenty to learn and document on our farm channel. 👍🏼🐐🤠

Bunch of people's goats are having babies right now and we should be expecting some soon but we don't know for sure.none of her a goat have bags in their stomachs are huge but I think their bread cuz they are with a billy all the time.

My goat has been said to be pregnant by more than two vets but this has been since Dec 2023 last year till this year it is 7months now
But I see now heat since except for some milky droppings sometimes and some cries
So please I wana ask can a goat stay up to 7to 8 months before delivery?
And the belly is big but not to big
And is a small goat
The udder isn't getting bigger

We have a goat that was a stray and found her way into our property and doesn’t want to leave. She was a stray with a male goat that still lives in the bush by our property. She has been here 3 week, she’s looks pretty young and I’m certain she’s never had a kid before. Her milk bag looks a little bigger each day. I was wondering if the growing of the bag is a slow process or quick? We can’t get near her so having to just observe and guess if she is or not. Her belly is also getting bigger but she’s also got a constant food supply now
I'm new to goats and just bought 2 girls and a billy.One is a mom and the other is the daughter.The baby is weaned from mom and the guy told me she might be pregnant again and duue bewtween Feb and March.

I goat April 5 and it is june 2nd and they told me she was under a year old..her milk bags are filling up..is she pregnant.they didn't have the goats separated from the billy.i have never had a goat before
I posted a video of my mini silky fainting doe in heat when my buck was inside the barn. Also videos of them loving on eachother. :) I just dont know if he got her or not. Our standard doe went into heat 1st. Kept them in together for a couple days. Then our mini silky and left her in for a couple days.

I need a help my goat I think she is preg but after 3 months I mean she dried her milk at the end of march she has started producing milk again mid of June and I haven't noticed her while in heat since 3/4 months I guess so

And she got a 4 month baby as well
We recently got two miniature goats (a billy and nanny). They both are young. The Nanny was just weaned off of her mom 5 weeks ago.The billy is a little older. The billy was banded the day we got them(2 weeks ago).My question is does the nanny's teats supposed to be flat to her stomach? They are about a 1/2 inch long. Thanks

A Nigerian yearling, & a la mancha bred to a little silkie. My first goats. I've been milking the la mancha since I got her in July. She went into heat October 22. I took her to the buck & she didn't have another heat cycle. Didn't actually witness the deed, but she's filling out some & milk production is way way down. I think she's drying herself off. Not her first rodeo. The Nigerian got bred the night b4 THANKSGIVING. Also no subsequent heat cycle, so I'm pretty sure they're both pregnant.

But still I am in doubt, my dough is in her first time and her delivery date is just 10 days away, but no sign of udder growing.😔, Still no idea if she became pregnant. Took her two times in a week for breeding as she was still shouting after first.

It depends on if she was in heat when she mated..as for the second time in the week when you took her to mate she was not in heat as goats are only in heat for 24 hours..some could be barren as well and i have heard stories of some still mating while pregnant
I think my nanny is pregnant. We purchased her and two others. She has been very mean. Head butting the two youngers. Has injured my young billy. Her utters are filled. We were warned that she may very well be pregnant when we got her. We are having to put her in a separate pin. She is really kicking butt when anyone gets close at all. She is taking food from me though which is good.
I have a odd question lol my older male cowboy was banded to early and has a small amount of testicles like the size of a dogs can he be firtle I think my doe might be pregnant

I have a doe i believe is just coming out of being in heat and she will not stop beighing today. She is eating good and not showing any symptoms of pain or sickness. Is this normal or should we give or vet a call you think?
They don't normally have pain on sickness

I should be having some here in a week or two. I had a edie who had a prolapse uterus I think because she had 3 bucks two were big. I never bred her again but for the following three yrs. She came into milk every spring though not bred . Got any ideas about either of these situations?
I'm so sorry about the prolapsed uterus. I haven't had a goat with one but last year, one of our cows had one and we had to put her down. Her bull calf was huge. Most likely the large size of the kids were the problem. And some animals are just not as strong and may not have the best uterus attachment etc. I would research about precocious udder in goats. It sounds like that is what you are dealing with. :) ~ Delci

Is it good to just leave a billy with your females year round I know two breeders that do that but I would lime to know if it is healthy
Goats have a 5 month gestation period. It is possible to breed consecutively but not recommended. Pregnancy and birthing take a lot out of a doe. Also, summers births can be difficult on both mama and kids. Parasites can also be a bigger issue in summer. I would not suggest leaving the buck to expose does year round. 👍🏼🐐🤠
