    This is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. See the beauty of the final product, and the simplicity of the manufacture.

    You've succeeded in explaining the process of modern porcelain manufacturing in such a short video that dozens of other fail to do in a full hour. Well done! One question I'm left with, though: the paper templates that are stuck to the bowl to transfer the patterns, are the left stuck on underneath the glaze, or are they removed before glazing?

    • @makemeimagine
      @makemeimagine Před 3 lety

      The in glaze decals look like they’re applied after bisque firing but before the glaze. I guess the paper burns out and won’t affect the surface of the glaze no matter the application

      @@makemeimagine : I don't like this style, I rather that they painted it on by hand or something. Yes, I can see a lot of them have been made. But surely... they need to sell it slowly and release them over time ? Cannot believe that they've made so much... and so many... If you keep it well, these bowls can lasts around at least a good old 20-30 years. I kept all the ones from my mom's days... and those specific ones that she used to be able to steam them in extremely hot steamers... I kept her double dutch steamers.... :) Perfect ! I can see that, they do not seem to be AS hardy, as the old ones...

      @@makemeimagine they don't bisque, the porcelain is raw glazed. And I didn't see what they did with the paper, I don't think it could be left on. I will check on my next visit.

      This town that produces porcelain has been doing so for 1700 years. People want traditional designs because it's a signature of the city and region. Can't you use a search engine to shop for something you like?

    • @maggiejetson7904
      @maggiejetson7904 Před 3 lety

      You can, but like Carthes said it is not what this town is famous for in the last 1700 years. This is like asking France to make beers and Germans to make wines, they can do it but they won't be the best like they are in their own work now.

    • @MeiinUK
      @MeiinUK Před 2 lety

      @@gravityhypernova : If you really noticed though... these, or some of these people, are not those same "1700 years ago families that are still here".... These are the NEW era people, from another region, that picked up these old factories and tried to do something for a living. You do know this, right? Don't you ?
