  • Good morning mga ka-online palaboy...
We are live and alive from the heart of Tokyo... Ryogoku sumida city Japan...
Since, this is my first morning here at the apa hotel, I'll try their breakfast buffet
I'm so curious how the Japanese start their eating habits in the morning.
I'm going now at the 4th floor, where the restaurant is located.
    It's called la veranda...
I will give a full tour of apa hotels breakfast buffet in a separate episode so stay tuned for that.
For now, take a glance at it.
After a quick prep, I promptly go to Asakusa by foot.
From my hotel to Asakusa it's 2.2 km away or about 30 mins walk.
I decided to take a walk instead of taking the train merely because I want to see the real Tokyo with its usual streets and its crowd movements.
And also for practical reason I can save money from not taking the train, and the traveling time is just the same by foot.
And also, to lose some calories from my heavy breakfast.
Wow it's seems they are having a great time in riding the rickshaw...
I will try it someday, but for now I want to have a site seeing in asakusa shrine.
I got a full tour on a separate episode.
After having a tour, I went to my second purpose.
I want to try the mont blanc matcha Ice cream to find out if the social media craze is valid enough.
When I arrived, there was a crowd already as of 11 am and I'm the 7th in cueing.
While I'm observing the crowd, I noticed that a customer handed over an unfinished ice cream cone to a woman, I guess a staff also of the store and she put the cone at the trash bin.
At that moment I started wondering, why the ice cream is almost untouched given that in all of the social media people are gone crazy about it.
    Then my turn comes.
I choose the cone version also, it also available in a cup.
    I just paid 1400 yen.
She just put the matcha chestnut paste in a presser with several thin holes underneath of it.
Making the paste, noodles like finish.
The cone already have stuffed inside.
She just add a gold sheet on top of the noodle-like paste.
While I'm fixing my monopod, the matcha paste instantly fell down which I slightly lean the cone unnoticeably.
My bad, another yen is wasted. Dumb song.
When I looked at the video, the paste easily feel down because the cone was lean at the lower opening if the wrap. And the paste is slightly sitted on top of it making at risk from sudden falling when you lean it a bit.
In my embarrassment, I immediately escape from the crime scene.
And look for some refuge...to eat what is left for me.
Ok... I will stay here for a while to taste this.
I still have a few spoons of the matcha chestnut paste, To tell you frankly, is not that good.
I'm a match lover and I don't find the kick of the matcha... It tastes so bland...
And even the stuffed inside the cone, nothing leaves you a good impression, it's just an ordinary spoon of cake.
This mon blan is just an eye-tricking food, it's better for display not for consumption.
It's so creative in presentation, specially when you see it with gold sheet toppings, you will surely entice to buy it and have the taste of the gold.
My verdict, 1400 yen is overpriced for this desert.
Next stop, let's have some sushi...
    That's on the next episode.
