Was about to shell out hundreds of dollars for a holder, light table, etc., setup... Keeping it under $50 is incredible. Also going to DIY the copy stand and try to keep it under $100 total 😎 Thanks for the video!

This is such an underrated video. One of the most useful and detailed vids I've seen on DIY film scanning. It's a shame I had to scroll so much in order to find it. THANK YOU! I've been looking for ideas to upgrade my diy film scanning, and I just made a 2nd version but I think I will make a 3rd with this design in mind. Awesome video.

Great idea. I am going to develop the first roll of b/w 135 film in 20 years and inspired to make a similar device by your video. Thanks!

You have made a good rig! Thanks for sharing. Do you think we can use film duplicator/copier like durst/kasier like to modify it to help us scan negatives better?

It's worth trying, it's totally feasible in theory.
      Thank you :)

Hi! VERY interesting! Especially the part about the type of acrylic glass you are using. One more question: what light are you using? I'm trying to keep it as low cost as possible.... Have you tried various lights?

It's a LED light but not very good. Flash light is always the best.

Very interesting video! I will try to make this myself. What is the thickness of the gap between the cardboard and the black board, can I use normal 2x a4 paper on top of each other? and is it possible that the negatives can be scratched when inserting or removing it when scanning?

A name card will be just right I think and if you inserting or removing slowly it will be safe. Thanks Odso.

Do you recommend high temperature color LEDs like 7000 or 6000?
