  • To remove a engine:
    1) Removed all connections from engine to chassis
    2) Drained all fluids
    3) Get some knowledge before removing a engine or have some buddies with experience to help out.
I watched a video of a 94-96 Toyota Camry engine removal and I just kind of follow its procedures. The Celica is a little different but very similar. The proper tools does help out a lot. Good luck on your swap and thank you for watching. Please comment for ideas and suggestions.

Good job. My dad was a mechanic in the early 60's, I recall him telling me how he whipped out car engines in an hour or so. Not possible on today's cars. Learned something from your video, wondered what the module with the cable attached was on my 97 Celica-as you explained for the cruise control, seems obvious now. With the amount of oil leaks on my Celica I reckon the engine would just slide out no problem!

Phew, I’m tired just watching you do all that work. Can’t wait to see the 3sgte engine installed. My all trac swap is still in the shop and I think yours will be done before I get mines back lol.

haha, there's not much to disconnect but it's just time consuming. You just need some proper tools and a some knowledge to get the job done.

Man I really appreciate you for this video. Has been a huge help in pulling the 5SFE out of my 5th gen Celica. For the most part it hasn't been too bad, but they really have to put that power steering pump in the worst possible place lol.
Btw, I'm leaving my trans in it and supported via jack stands, so I figure I should be fine in leaving the CV axles on there while I pull just the motor, right?

Which gen 3sgte? The swaps are simple and pulling the 5sfe is easy if you have done it multiple times. I have swapped the 6gc multiple times and have a lot of knowledge if you need help.

@@charliexiong6541 Southbend makes a really good hybrid clutch kit which could be bought at primemr2. As for fuel you can use a Supra Walbro 255; it is a bit noisy. I would suggest replacing gaskets and seals while the 4th gen 3sgte is out. Also, polyurethane mounts from gt4play are nice. I have both the red and yellow inserts.
