    Thanks, Jeff! I swapped the wiper switch & fuel tank selector, so fuel is now directly under the fuel gauge. I used an 80s intermittent wiper control, but the shaft extends over an inch from dash - makes it easier to adjust!

    NICE..! All Great Advise ..!
    Looking back, I wish I took this route, instead of rewinding all by hand...
    Question off topic, if I may.
    Any update on the second part of your video on rebuilding the distributor..
    (Setting it up and adjustments after the re built)..
    Oooo and thanks for those clips,,, I couldn’t find them anywhere at the time... definitely going to stock up on those,, can use them everywhere..!!!! 👍

      We are planning to move the Punisher to points and will do a tuning guide on that. Probably in the next couple of months.

  • @hughphillips67Mustang

    Do you have a detailed video of the wiring on the ignition? The 65 f100 I have, the previous owner has a complete nightmare of mixed up color wiring. I don't know what goes to where, and if it's even supposed to be there in the first place. Or if he added it later. Please help.

    Great!!! Too bad they don’t have a complete wire harness for my 79 Ford F-150.

    If you were doing a restoration on a vehicle older than 1980 would you replace the harness Just Because?

    • @AutoRestoMod
      @AutoRestoMod  Před 5 lety

      Only if it were as bad as this one, or I was planning a lot of upgrades. My 1967 Mustang wiring looked like a New Delhi tenement house due to all the "add on" stuff. This can neaten up the situation.

      Sorry, we can't really go back and attack that again, we might be installing an American Autowire on the '64 Falcon hardtop we are working on, but I hope this info helps:
      From the instructions:
      Ignition Feed
      (PINK WIRE ON THE HARNESS, I THINK IT IS MARKED "COIL") This is your 12V switched power source for the distributor / coil. This can be connectred directly to the “Bat” terminal on a typical HEI Distributor, to a Ballast Resistor as in a point’s type Distributor, or to be used as the ignition power source for an Aftermarket Ignition Module such as an MSD or “Dura Spark” module. see the installation instructions for the type of Distributor you are using for specific connection requirements. If you are using a GM style HEI distributor, terminal C and connector P have been provided to make that connection
      (see page 11 figure A for some examples).
      Wire# Wire Color Printing Procedure
      3F Pink Ignition Feed Feed for the ignition
      The ignition plug on the switch should be a plug and play, thread it on the switch provided and mount accepry wires according to instructions and you should be good to go.

    Will the American autowire harness (American Autowire Complete Wiring Kit With Switches F-100 1967-1972) allow me to use LED lighting?

    • @AutoRestoMod
      @AutoRestoMod  Před 3 lety

      Yes. LED offers less voltage draw than incandescent. LEDs are only an issue in the winter where the bulbs don't create enough heat to melt snow and ice.
