- This is a walking tour through the International Terminal Departure Gates post security at Vancouver International Airport (YVR) in British Columbia Canada. The walk starts just past security to the end of the International terminal and back to the duty free store.
Gates 48 - 77 are in the International terminal, however gates 48 - 53 can be blocked off for use on domestic departures and gates 72 - 77 can be blocked off for use on US departures.
It takes approximately 10 minutes to walk from security to the farthest gates (64/65). There are currently 3 airline lounges available: Air Canada Maple Leaf, Plaza Premium and Delta Skyteam. Several other lounges are still closed post covid.
There is about 10 places to eat or buy food although there seems to be constant construction for new places. Currently the only full service restaurant is the Lift Bar and Grill located in at the end of the food court adjacent to Gate 53
If you have any questions about YVR airport or have any requests for places you would like to see please leave a comment.

🏞👟 Your Vancouver walking video was so picturesque! The beautiful scenery and stunning mountains were so calming. I can't wait to save this video for my next treadmill session. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you!
Thank you so much for the video that I am really appreciated!! I have to simulated while I wait connection for four hours next month with a one year old kid
That's quite a long layover. There are several quiet areas you can relax at before your flight. There are kids play areas near gate 54 and 59, or the nice quiet area between gate 67 and 68, or at the end gate 64/65 you might want to check out.
Oh thank you so much for the comment and also gives me informations about the details!!!! Definitely will check that out!!!
Thank you for kindly answering people's questions!
If we are coming from USA to S Korea with a long layover, do we have to go through customs first?
Yes you will have to clear Canada Customs first before you can continue to your connection. There is special area for International connection passengers which helps streamline the process somewhat, but you still have to clear Canadian customs first.
Your video of the international arrival area at YVR says it was done March 23, 2023, the same date as this one of the international departure gates? How did you manage to arrive on an international flight, clear customs, and then get back through security to the international departure gates the same day, or were you connecting to another international flight?
Oops that is a typo, it should be March 27, which is when I returned back from the trip I departed on March 23 on. Thank you for letting me know I have updated the date.

hey YVR Travels, is the security gate same for international and domestic flights in YVR? Or is there 1 security gate for domestic and separate security gate for international travels?
There are separate security gates for domestic and international departures. Technically there are 2 domestic security gates (depending on the airline), 1 for international travel, and 1 for U.S. Departures.
thanks much for the super fast response 😀 I flown from YVR domestic ~ over 30 times over the years, but my first international flight is coming up in feb so excited! @@yvrtravels
you are welcome. I hope you have a safe and event free flight. The international terminal is quite large, and some of the gates are a long walk so be sure to give yourself plenty of time @@samhunter3249
What time was this ? Seems pretty empty
This was about 9:30am in the morning. It starts to get busier closer to noon as many of the international flights to Asia often leave. But there are also fewer scheduled flights to Asia now that pre-covid, particularly to China, so it doesn't get as busy as before
