I always hear that patients with Type 4 skintone or darker *can’t* use CO2 resurfacing, but rarely hear alternative suggestions of appropriate lasers or alternative approaches that achieve the same results. Can you offer any advice for those who have darker skin, so that it doesn’t always have to seem exclusionary, with no further guidance outside of *”It’s not for people like you”* ?

My surgeons is getting a new laser next week called Tetra by Cartessa. It is supposed to be able to deliver co2 fractional and or cool peel. Is this a good machine? Am I understanding it correctly, you can choose co2 OR cool peel? I need the co2 for the tightening and from what I’m reading cool peel isn’t the best choice.
So if it's not recommended for skin of color, what procedure(s) is best for darker skin tones? Is microneedling effective for smoothing out acne scars?

doctor ive used co2 ablative laser for my acne scars i feel like my skin is even worse and after 2 months still having redness. (i have white skin.) can the laser worsen scars or i should only be more patient?

Co2 laser can remove under eye dark circles also ?
There could be many different reasons causing dark under eyes. We would need to examine you to determine the under-eyes and then select the best treatment for you.
If you have a very subtle eye bag which almost looks like a collection of fluid under the eye that you can flatten out by stretching the skin will co2 laser help?
No but reducing salts, preservatives and alcohol may help improve fluid retention.

Doc I just watched a video on CZcams where the surgeon did not use eye shields and why did she numb the inside the patients mouth? I want to be awake for mine but I have dental anxiety. I actually take a Valium just to go to the dentist every six months 😂
Can that mouth shot be avoided even getting full face done? Don’t need the lip done it’s already lighter than the rest of my skin for some reason but no wrinkles yet
We don't use mouth shots for this and we use eye shields.

Do you agree that it is necessary to make two passes under the eye area to tighten the skin? Getting this on Tuesday 😱 with an ocular facial plastic surgeon I don’t want to have to do it twice so is there a particular setting for a good treatment on the eyes? My procedure is being done by Dr Soheila Rostami in Tyson’s Va. love her and been with her for 8 years

Doc I just need my skin tightened a bit near the temple to reduce the amount of fillers I get and under the eyes. No wrinkles on this mature face yet. I have a very intensive skin care routine. Is that possible?? I am reading the levels can be adjusted it hit the most inner layers of the skin to tighten. Is this true?

It depends on the type of scar, usually microneedling devices are better for skin remodeling

I am at week 8
Apparently I had a festoon which this treatment has left me with a small lump of edema on one cheek 🤦♀️ lymphatic drainage, jade rolling, ice and pressing on it will not get it out. 🤦♀️ maybe in time? and second question, my neck and chest looks kinda waxy Wondering if that will settle down ? Thanks ❤

If it's between skin tones 1-3, then yes. After 3, then no.

So if my skin is pale I feel it is safe, I’ve had other lasers as well like Vbeam when my skin is pale and had no issues. Would it cause issues if I got co2 laser when my skin was pale but then got tanner skin due to sun exposure even with wearing sunscreen? I’m just wondering if the problems would occur after co2 laser if my skin got a tan

We have many ways to reduce pain. Topical numbing, laughing gas, medication as needed. ❤️
I’ve just had it done, first few mins are stingy but it gets better as it goes on. All I was given was the numbing cream, a few hours after and my face is hot and tingly, it’s bearable, ice packs would help
