  • We are leaving McDermitt, Nevada (Mile 538) and finally make our way into the beautiful Owyhee where we have to swim across the high and fast flowing Owyhee River before we get to Rome, OR (Mile 661) our last town and resupply stop on the ODT.

    Tolle Aufnahmen Arno, was für eine atemberaubende Landschaft. Da bekommt man richtig Fernweh, einfach ausbrechen aus diesem System ❤️

    Hey Arno, what date did you swim the Owyhee River? I know 2019 was a high water year. I am trying to determine what a safe flow rate is for fording the Owyhee, using the USGS site. I don't know many others who've swam it :) Great videos!

      Hi and sorry for my late response! We swam the Owyhee on June 25th. The current was pretty fast and strong and the water level high but it’s also worth mentioning that there’s no rapids nearby downstream in case you do get into trouble.

      @@arnoschuster4392 Looks like water was flowing around 900 cfm on the Owyhee that day. That'll get the heart rate going for sure. Thanks for the info!
