I love the feeling of silky it’s so soooo soft and warm to the touch but it makes me hot and sweat. What is as soft and lovely as microfibre but more breathable. I find cotton too crispy if that makes sense
Seriously cotton is 100x more comfortable, poly sheets feel so loose and gooey, 100% cotton sheets are so clean and crisp feeling, they feel like paper
Instead of throwing your old shirt away, donate to goodwill or Salvation Army. One mans trash is another mans treasure. Landfills have enough to deal with

IMO Cotton is hands down better than microfiber. My opinion is based on the fact cotton has been used in garments for centuries, microfiber since the 1960's. AND microfiber is made from human made chemical and petroleum products which can cause hives on my skin among other allergies. Pollution is much worse with petroleum products. Yes, cotton does use more water, but it absorbs more water 😃
Only concern is price. If you have money to purchase cotton or any kinld of natural fiber, Never ever purchase any polistar or microfiber cloths or anything.

So many of them may be made of cotton and yet still have polyester filling, which I am still reacting to. Do you have any recommendations for 100% cotton comforters with cotton fill?

I bought an entire set of "microfiber" sheets, pillowcases, and a blanket from Target to replace the sheets in my furnished apartment, and my god, I had the absolute worst reaction. Even after washing, I woke up feeling like I was gagging and felt I had fabric fibers in my mouth and throat. Tossed them out, and went with 100% cotton. Microfiber fabric is Evil.
I just bought cotton sheets for me and the kids I'd rather spend a little more money to buy something that's greener and made in a capitalist country rather then a Communist country

I buy my bedding at Walmart.. one side is polyester & the side i cover with is cotton. I love the cool crisp cotton sheets in a cooled room 👌🏼

You're right - natural fibers are better than synthetic but synthetic materials are cheaper.

You could go goose down/feather comforter. Better than cotton fill and still natural. Prices are pretty decent too, Costco sells a fairly cheap one
You can get 100% cotton In some Walmart
I usually use a blanket or quilt cause of overheating but you might have luck with some cotton knit blankets and layer them when it's cooler.

Probably use a mechanics hand cleaner to clean the oil stain. Rub in and soak.
