I love Kevin Costner. He approaches his work with relentless commitment and it shines throughout all of his movies.
I sense that especially in directing, he puts himself wholeheartedly in the project and the experience of it. And his shy and unsure part of himself, I believe leads him to experiencing these wonderful magical and unexpected roads of life, where he finds things that are so immersive to his soul.
I have huge respect for his incredible tenacity and willingness to go to places where a lot of men do not dare go to nowadays. Kevin said that all of his professional achievements are because of hard work yet there lays an undeniable greatness in him which seems effortless - that's the Kevin magic.
You can tell by is role choices that he loves stories with depth and richness, stories of true human spirit: compassion, humility, hope and thirst for living. His greatness lays in his gratitude and appreciation for all there is and can be. I often listen to his music which gives my soul solace, comfort and inspiration.
What a wonderful gift we have been blessed with - Kevin and what he shares with us. Thank you Mr Costner. Your dedication is recognised by many of us. The beauty of your nature and your heart has given us many stunning pieces of your work. 💓💓💓

I bet he is a very serious man to work for & with, I don't see a fun man, I see a very serious, hard working man with a very dry sense of humour.
I really like quite a few of his films I must say but, there are two that I genuinely love.
Dances with Wolves (the extended version is the only one I watch) to me is in the top 20 films ever made within Hollywood.
Open Range really hits hard in the Western genre and I have always felt that Kevin & Robert Duvall were like an old married couple that were made to be best friends forever.

Kevin Costner has always been one of my favorite leading actors.
Along with Tom Cruise, Tom Hanks, and Jack Nicholson, Costner films dominated the 1980's & early 1990's movie scene. He is still doing quality work including the hit Western city Yellowstone! My favorites with him are Field of Dreams & The Untouchables.

I wrote the author of Shoeless Joe which became the movie Field of Dreams. He name is Bill Kinsella. I asked him to inscribe and sign a ex libre for my son who played baseball. I asked him to sign it, "Its not about baseball". Many people think the movie is about baseball or that field. Its not at all. Its about missed opportunities and redemption in life. The last scene breaks me up every time.

Kevin Costner is that kind of actor, where if you see him talking in an interview like this, you won't be like, "wow, he is nothing like his characters." Which happens with Daniel day Lewis.

It's nice to hear the host and KC say they both really like 'Hoosiers'. I remember reading somewhere that Hackman didn't like doing that movie, and didn't agree with some of the direction and/or writing of the movie AND was surprised that it got such good reviews. Personally, I (too) think it's terrific, and sometimes (in life) we participate in things that seem meaningless and/or stupid to us when we really are just unable to see the bigger picture importance of what we're a part of and would be better off to just acknowledge it as such. I hope Gene Hackman can see that about 'Hoosiers' (and his involvement in it). He was the perfect guy to play Norman Dale.
