I'm french and I can tell you that this standing ovation was sincere, long and sincere. Cannes projection can be stressful, some directors are booed. It's an arena of wolves. But this standing ovation, it means that Kevin Costner is part of this family called cinema as an art form.

So true! He has an ability to make a movie emotive and so enjoyable at the same time, from start to finish. Life is a mixed bag, it can be funny, sad, horrific, loving, clever, silly and so much more and he packs in that depth and puts it on screen, without it being contrived or too artsy. A rare talent.

This was a fantastic appearance. Costner was funny, affable and charming … also instructive and illuminating.
The story about his parents going to everything that he did was so touching. A parents biggest joy is watching their kids and supporting them.
Some parents don't like to watch their kids' movies. A lot of actors don't watch their own movies. Johnny Depp is one of them.
Costner has that Gary Cooper natural actor quality. Never tire watching either of these actors, despite time and distance between them.

Costner is right, there are moment in movies I'll never forget, like the end of Field of Dreams where he asks his Dad to play catch. Never fails to put a lump in my throat even though I know it's coming. Love The Untouchables, Bull Durham and Dances(Sean Connery and a young Andy Garcia🔥) but also Macfarland U.S.A.

The audience stood up and gave Will Smith a standing ovation at the Academy Awards, just right after he assaulted Chris Rock on live national TV and was never prosecuted. I remember the curtain too. In my theater, the curtain would close first, then it would open slowly. It just before it reopened the projection starts ON the curtains.

I recently re-watched The Upside of Anger. His performance is flawless. It was such a good movie. He is a great actor but there is an every man quality to him.
He is the best of the best out there acting. He always brings so much to every character he plays. Kevin is the reason I watched Yellowstone . The actors are all amazing on that show but Kevin is the heart of it and the anchor that holds it together. If at anytime I see his name attached to any role I am there. He is a legend👏🏻

I have been a fan for many years, I always thought Dances with wolves was gonna be my all time favorite movie then I watched yellowstone then 1883 then 1929 and now I'm at a loss for words. Kevin you have done it again an again an again. I can't wait for Horizon.
Love all his interviews he is such a beautiful human. When he talks about his parents and his kids, there is so much caring going on. Love that he talks with his hands all the time and gets up to demonstrate what he is communicating.
