- Kodama was built to go the distance and accommodate adventures of every variety. From exploration by foot to catching waves, J and his furry travel buddy have big plans for their van, which span across multiple continents.
J's massive enthusiasm for spontaneous adventures and travel by road guided his choice to bring this project to life. He approached Yama with the goal of building his home for the open road and together, we co-created his dream of having a space that is functional and flexible with thoughtful consideration for design.

Cool van, my 2020 self build on AWD Ford Transit almost exactly! I have raised fridge behind seat in a tower unit to ceiling with microwave above the fridge and 2 big storage drawers under fridge. Bed also reversed and small bed slide for bed length on drivers side in lieu of flairs. My water tank is inside over rear wheel well but you’ve nailed it. Induction, sink, showers/toilet the same. Love the work you did!

Hello, two questions: 1) Can the bed be changed to a Murphy bed style? 2) Could this van be used in colder climates, such as a ski resort in the dead of winter?

This layout configuration could be done as a Murphy Bed. If you check out our build called The Den, it has a similar layout with a Murphy Bed (minus the convertible bench seat). Kodama doesn't have a heated fresh water tank, but typically our builds do. That feature + others make them useable in the winter.
