Can you imagine that this was just a demo lap? He was taking it "slow" and he was just enjoying himself. A race timed lap is about 2 to 3 minutes faster...think about that.
At 16:16 in the video he is checking out his own shadow while wheeleing at a 100+ mph. What a lad!
I think the average speed of that lap was around 119mph. His lap record, which is the overall course record, averaged 135mph…

In the description of the video he says many of the wheelies were for fun. His average speed on this lap was 119mph. In the race it's around 130-135 mph. The yellow flags are slippery surface warnings.
He looked down because he thought oil was on his left foot peg. His foot kept slipping and he was checking out why. Still this was his demo lap and he was just enjoying himself. He stated it was about 80% of the real speed during the actual races.

He thought he whas losing oil....case his foot slipped of his step....but no oil.....qnd btw this is a practice lap....late in the afternoon..so sometimes he holds back....can you imagine the full race speed?....net to Pete hicky....you should lood at the missile macabre by john mcguinness also onboard but full race speed....

I'm pretty sure he said that this footage is from a safe lap meaning a no risk lap with an average of 118mph with like a 19min lap time, he has done a 135mph with like a 16min lap time like thats just insane.

You have to remember this was a goon lap for Peter, he was having fun and not at race pace.

Its definitely insane but remember how much more visibility in real life there will be compared to a GoPro.

he's not pulling the front wheel up on purpose, it comes up under hard acceleration and/or due to bumps in the pavement. He is trying hard to keep the front down by getting forward off the rear of the seat, and using the back brake. But, he's absolutely caning the bike, so up it comes!
When oil gets on your tire you're screwed and dead there.
When you said at 8:50 that you wanted to know the speed, top speed on a hp4 is over 186 mph, he was in 6th gear at at least 10,000 revs, gotta be hitting 160 on tight roads through bends and over jumps 🤯
The bikes outrun the helicopter in a lot of sections.
The Isle of Mann is the pinnacle of racing and that boi is MOVINGGGG!
During the topspeeds in 6th gear he is going around 185-190 mph

That was a demo lap on the BMW. 119mph lap average speed . Peters lap record is just on 135mph or 2 minutes faster than you see in this run. :) The slowest of the racers this year went faster than that lap. The bike was on display earlier that day and his foot was slipping on the pegs. he was looking down to see if it was oil ..as you do at about 140MPH lol
@@mrmagoo5093 every time he hit 3rd gear the front wheel was coming off the ground. Lovely bike, sounds mint.
