    I am at the beginning of my "investment journey", planning to put 85K into dividend stocks so that I will be making up to 30% per year in dividend returns. Any advice?

      Investing without proper guidance can lead to mistakes and losses. I've learned this from my own experience.If you're new to investing or don't have much time, it's best to get advice from an expert.

      The issue is people have the "I want to do it myself mentality" but not equipped enough for a crash, hence get burnt. Ideally, advisors are reps for investing jobs, and at first-hand encounter, my portfolio has yielded over 300% since 2020 just after the pandemic to date.

    Withdraw strategy as a sanity check...exactly! Fully retired using the 4% rule as my sanity check. Spending under, then unless the world blows-up I am staying on target. We can't project the future; we have enough trouble with the day's weather.

    Thanks, Rob. It helped me so much for you to share your assumptions on everything. I know we are all guessing, but great to know where you are starting on those. I loved watching you use the Roth Conversion tool. Thanks for taking the time to do this. It's hard for me to catch your live sessions when you present them.

    You are sure right about the game Rob! Every fan was sweating the 4th quarter. Some great play by LeBron, Embiid, Curry, Booker, and Durant at the end.

    The home value for both you primary home and your rental future value is set under the assumptions tab. It is not set by the general inflation. Love your channel and newsletter 🙂

    I hope you can help me with the following questions:
    1) When targeting a 60/40 allocation, would you consider replacing a portion of the bond allocation with dividend-paying companies?
    2) If you're able to closely match your Required Minimum Distributions (RMD) with dividends, do you think it's a good strategy, considering it reduces the need to sell many stocks?

    This is a FANTASTIC video. I'm a new user for NR and while I'm fairly versed in using software like this I'm actually getting the NR coaching session for $250 to go over my Baseline and make sure it's modeled as well as it can be before I start fooling with all the scenarios. On another note @Rob_Berger I am VERY much interested in the results of your testing the different CFP's results against your NR result at timestamp 1:00:25. Give us that video! Make it long form and go into detail please. THANKS.

    Sorry, just got around to watching this. It's really helpful for a NR newbie. Anyway, re: the question @1:51:21 about different returns for bonds vs equities , I broke my single brokerage account into three distinct items in NR: One for stocks, one for bonds, and one for cash/equivalents (T-bills, MMA, etc.). Then I could set the returns by each type as if they are in separate accounts. It only requires me to update three account balances instead of one. No big deal for me.
    And I vote for a monthly show dedicated to NR!

    How to put inherited accounts into the scenarios? Some are pre-secure act IRAs that can take advantage of the stretch, and some are post secure and must be distributed and taxed within ten years.

    I'd like if you did this monthly, I find it very useful. I also usa MaxiFi. Although not as complex, a short session on that one wooikd be useful to me. Any other software wouod also be of interest. By the way, I discovered New Retirement because of you. Thank you!

    NR straight lines forecasts which just isn't realistic. I'd like to see a way to factor recessions and sequence of return risk, and have a way to do expense adjustment in down times.

    • @matthewowcarz8259
      @matthewowcarz8259 Před 29 dny

      If you pay for an account you can set up different scenarios to run for those situations. Not a perfect software, but I'm happy with it for now.

    New retirement basic (free) Is frustrating af. I’m not convinced paying for a subscription will make anything easier

    • @matthewowcarz8259
      @matthewowcarz8259 Před 29 dny

      I'm not sure where your frustrations lie, but I signed up for the paid account and am very pleased with it. You get 14 days free, then they charge you monthly so you can always cancel it. The paid allows for a lot more specifics and I feel like I have better control over the variables. Plus you can make up different scenarios and run roth conversions. I figure I'll use this for a few years to keep myself on target as best I can, then sign up for an advisor.

    Criminal that our net worth is so dependent on understanding and finagling the tax code which requires the application of arcane knowledge AND luck with respect to assumptions about future returns, inflation, etc. 2 people with the same exact saving patterns and portfolios will pay markedly different taxes depending on tax planning. Awful use of our brain power.
