On resolve, do you edit on an SSD? If so, see if there's a correlation to the lag spikes when editing onboard vs on an SSD. This has nothing to do with the speed of the SSD, but more on how resolve links the media from the SSD compared to how adobe does it. IDK the details but as someone who switched from adobe to resolve completely, this is something that i deal with a lot.
another issue i find is the way resolve handle's playback when using a bluetooth headphone, i.e. airpods, compared to a lined headphone/ built in speakers. I find the bluetooth also causes lag spikes.
with these minor frustrations, ive been binging videos on m3pro chipset, specifically on video editing, seeing if i can make a purchase. thanks for the video!
Try editing in a 1080p timeline in resolve and then just export to 4k. You won't lose quality, and you won't get any lag spikes.

@@dewanshchristopher5963 Just change project settings resolution to 1080p and after all editing is done change project settings to 4k. Or just editing 1080 and export video file to 4k.

if you already have macbook and wanna update your setup mac studio is good choice
try working in pro res not in h264, h264 the computer needs to decode do whatever you are doing in resolve and playback, in prores there is no decoding while workiing.....

After M4 release, the performance is basically identical with M3Pro, so that means in the upcoming few month we can see the macbook pro will have 20-50% depreciation value in 2nd hand market for the previous model.

You see, as someone with an older imac from 2013, this MacBook pro is thw perfect upgrade for me, with all the stuff going on with windows 11, I'm not really inclined to buy a windows laptop, besides, I've wanted to try final cut pro for a while, and, i think im gonna go with the 14 inch m3 pro MacBook, and not an m3 MacBook air due to the lack of ports, besides, I know that this newish MacBook will last me 5-10 years before maybe upgrading to a new laptop, and, frankly, that's what I need

I bought a m3 max 36gb with 1tb. First Mac computer. I hope this last me 5 years for basic stuff..
More than enough for daily tasks. Even for a heavier workflow you're set.
bro people get air for daily stuff and it can easily last for 4/5 years w no problems and you got fully loaded m3 max it will be more than enough for 4/5 years of heavy work ( 3d , machine learning and etc )

Nice review. I am making a major upgrade from a Mac Core i5 and a MacBook Air Core i7 8GB RAM to the m3pro 512GB and 18.x GB RAM. I don't know if their upgradeable. I did tear apart my macbook air and put a new SSD in it, I hope they didn't solder the SSD to the motherboard, I'll refuse the package pending your response!

I am really in confusion, because my last laptop was 16 inch and heavier than the MacBook 16😂, the point of SSD put me in hard decision because I want laptop everlast for about 7 to 8 years without any problem, and I saw editors said that the 512 is pretty enough put I think that you will have more knowledge in that point if I can stick with 512 with external 1 tb ssd, by knowledge that i will use it for programming and editing only and I came from 2 tb laptop and I don't use half of them and I have no external monitor.

no you won't really notice a difference, I would upgrade the ram if you want to spend the extra money
Depends on what you do really. M2 air is a great laptop too and is highly capable of doing everything the M3 can.

Now take what I say with a grain of salt because I’m not an expert but I’ve heard that for AI training (if you have a ton of money to “throw away”) you should aim on getting as much ram as possible. Again, take it with a grain of salt, you should research into Ai+macbook more though

bro we all gotta group up and do something about the SOLDERED SSDs on apple products. It's an abomination. the SSD is like Tires or Transmission on a car. You should be able to change it. If your SSD dies you can't even boot of an external drive... it's basically bricked if your SSD dies..Do you realize? Do you actually realize?

I am so disappointed I just bought a MacBook M2 pro and the last month and I'm sending it back. It's the biggest piece of shit I've ever owned. I've currently got a Lenovo Legion 16 inch with an RTX 49 in it and I decided I'd get a MacBook to try the experience. What a fucking letdown that was. LG 55 inch HD OLED TV HDR makes a picture look grey you can actually see it looking grey when it should be jet black on the screen. HDR should not admit any colour on an outlet at all until there's a picture you shouldn't be seeing a grey background image on HDR on an OLED and there is an image there. The fact of the matter is is that the MacBook is fucked up the picture on the external display Port is fucking abysmal. Honesty Laptop I've ever. This company has completely taken its eye off the ball and has no idea what thefuck it's doing.
