How To Use An NLP Anchor?

- Anchoring can allow you to create a beneficial or prime state very quickly.
Creating anchors are like creating bookmarks in your mind. you can allow you to fast-track back to a certain state, thought or feeling almost instantly if done correctly.
Golfers, singers, actors and even solicitors use anchors to be in a prime state for certain reason.
Anchors are nothing new though. in fact, the whole life is riddled with them. Think about that smell of perfume that makes you think of your wife or dare I say ex-wife!
What's the song that when you hear takes you back years to the exact time and place the had an amazing experience?
These are just things that you have anchored Unconsciously. So imagine what is possible when you begin to consciously anchor those thoughts and feelings the actually want and are beneficial.
Remember, you can't learn NLP by watching videos, reading books or listening to audios. The only way, is by experience and practice.

So true! Experienced it myself!
The BOOKMARK metaphor in the first 30-seconds is INCREDIBLE!!! That IS what it is! BUT DANG if I never heard those excellent words put together before. Thank you! I will spread this message and credit you!!
I love that anchoring can be used by self or have someone help you anchor in something and really teach them how to anchor

Powerful: PRACTICE MAKES PERMANENT
Glad you like that. 👍🏼
Very interesting - and also very relatable and understandable with the given examples.
While this surely can work the issue most people will likely trip over is practice. Something like an anchor isn't set in just a few minutes... I know I could highly benefit from anchors to better deal with anxiety attacks that come out of the blue like a lightning but not only am I missing good mental 'higlights' to choose from which would be strong enough to break my state of mind (due to how my life went with all the pain and traumas) and to be completely honest, while I like to learn about things all the time I'm a bit lazy and procrastinating when it come to actually learning (i.e. practicing) things. Of course, this is all on me and this video is a really good lesson to get started. I guess I'll see in a few weeks months or years if watching this video will have changed something for me or at least was part of a change. Either way, thanks for the lesson!
Thanks

Amazing, I'm rescued 😅
I am dyslexic among other learning difficulty's I suppose I learned to mask a very very young age and I can read others body language even since their thoughts probably from the time I was 3 years old is when I recognized it that's how I survive, and a rolled full of words many that I don't understand excuse to use the ones that make a difference in my life and others so I can fit in. I guess I feel I'm a master in Neuro Linguistic Programming...
Every massage therapist should know this.
Great Video Mike, I'm curious what is your lighting and camera setup? thanks in advance.
Hi Jay, I use a Panasonic G85 with a 25mm 1.7 lens. Plus there are 3 LED Light panels. About 9 inch square.

Interested that reminds of Russian physiologist Ivan Pavlov (1849-1936), classical conditioning is a learning process governed by associations between an environmental stimulus and another stimulus which occurs naturally
What's the purpose 9f breaking state?
I seem to have a conditioned response to laughter/smiling. Whenever i'm in a social situation and the person I'm talking to laughs or smiles, I get a feeling I am being belittled and so I feel threatened. How do I associate laughter and smiling to be a good thing? Do I need to use anchoring?
ceeloc that seems more like a limiting belief. When you realize that that belief comes up in your head, instantly replace that belief with the opposite and adopt the new belief.
Is anchor a positive state or a negative state? Or doesnt matter?
How do u anchor habits to eat healthy
Can I effectively create two separate triggers for the same state I want to anchor? For example, I like the trigger of tapping on my desk/table - it feels like it would work really well; but if I'm in a meeting or some other public context, tapping the table may seem weird, so I want to use a trigger word, quietly spoken, instead, for the same anchor - for instance, calm, clear thinking in the midst of the stress of an "impossible" deadline. Can I set up both triggers and switch them when I want?
Great question.
And, of course you can.
Keep in mind when creating the desired state, you must ensure you prime the anchor while the state/feeling is at its peak.
@@mikesweet5261 Great! Thanks so much, Mike!
Great video, by the way - clear, to-the-point and very usable info. Been trawling through NLP stuff on youtube all morning trying to find something I could use on procrastination that was straightforward, without a lot of preamble (or details not relevant to my needs) and vagueness. You got my thumbs up!
There was a lady who wore an anchor on her shirt and my coworker called her a bad word. This retraumatized me so I have to try a different word I make myself.
Oddly, I found anchors though “Chaos Magick.”
Too vague mate. Create the anchor and fire a trigger?
We need examples. How do we build anchors?
Hey Mr. Sweet!
So I just started listening to Tony Robbins' Unlimited Power, and as you may know, at the time he authored this he was using NLP and sharing some of the basics. Among other things he talked about anchoring and triggers. I got enough from it to understand how to create an anchor. But what I want to know is how to I remove or disable (or whatever the word might be) an unwanted trigger?
In one of his examples, Mr. Robbins talks about how he went to stay st some hotel, and had issues with his luggage. Turned out it had been stolen, He was very angry as a result, in an intense state, and as his wife was there, even though he let it go, by imagining the thief trying on his clothes, when he saw his wife's face later it triggered that anger which he had been feeling back at the hotel. Apparently this is a common issue with many relationships.
I would like to know how I can become aware of unwanted triggers like that, and how I can break those triggers, so they no longer trigger those emotions, which aren't even relevant to whatever I am experiencing in the present moment. They are things I felt in the past, being triggered presently. That is what I would like to become aware of and then neutralize. I have already learned a lot about old stories, becoming aware of these, supplanting them with a new story that is more positive and supportive. It seems to me that becoming aware of old triggers and supplanting those is the next logical step.
If you could direct me to any books, resources of videos that teach this subject directly and specifically, I would really appreciate it. Thank you! Also, what is the official name for the process of removing anchors or triggers?
I can't explain it myself but try searching NLP Collapsing Anchors
I literally made word happy itself a trigger I realise it now 😂

you're normally organized. :)
Good spot! 👍🏻
Can you use this technique to change subconscious beliefs?
Psych k works well for that
Can u anchor sthing from an event that didn’t happen but pure imagination ?
Of course you can. As long as you can create a powerful state, you can anchor that. Your imagination is so powerful, build the state effectively and you have the perfect opportunity.
what if it just doesn't work? I can try to rewire my brain but I'll still be tired and wanting to sleep when the alarm goes off
You fucking pussy!
@@bravefastrabbit770 isn't it past your bedtime?
@@yadusolparterre You cant even stick to a strict wake up time. Thats completely bitchmade dude! Ima call you out on everything ure being, n by the same token myself on everything im fucking being. Does NLP really work? :/ How do you "anchor a positive emotion or peak state" to something? :O
It's not about whether NLP works.
NLP is the structure of what works.
NLP was formed from modelling "what works" the structure and the patterns come from that.
There is no denying NLP works because that's what it is.
Some call NLP the "structure of excellence." But to simplify, NLP is the structure of what works.
@@mikesweet5261 Cool thanks! I wanna try it if it works. So like, if you tie/associate positive emotions with habits or memories, it will make them stronger or reinforced? I'll give it a try, thanks!
@@seanpatrickrichards5593 only anchor a peak state.
It's not about just tieing or associating. It's about making a neural connection that fires a response.
But, get the state you want then give a specific anchor.
Enjoy the process.
I have followed NLP since 1979!!!! & yeah it works Many of its ideas were rubbished by the psych industry (& teaching) Now most have been scientifically proven CBT studies , brain science etc BUT you MUST have a proficient Programmer ! I have anchored a wonderful intimate occurrence & it still warms my life ! 41 years later!!!! wow extraordinary!
Practice makes permanent … anchor associations …
dude, you have some inauthentic vibes
no it doesn't work the way you say and other trainers say. I and many people have tried but it didn't work. when we tell this to trainers then they start making excuses and they say that it needs practice and so on. Theory behind anchoring is right but it's not so much simple.
