  • As the #boxoffice blues continue, a fun film in #thefallguy ultimately falls short of projections, but still wins the weekend as a re-release of #starwarsthephantommenace was able to secure the #2 spot...yikes #boxofficebreakdown #challengers #movietalk

Seeing The Phantom Menace re-release today. Revenge of the Sith was the first Star Wars movie I saw in theaters when I was a kid.
Hope they do more re-releases for the first 6 movies.
As for The Fall Guy, tbh I think these numbers would not be that bad if the movie didn't cost 130 milion (not even factoring the marketing). So its got a long way to go before breaking even.

I went and saw The Fall Guy, Mars Express and the re-release of The Phantom Menace. I really enjoyed The Fall Guy. I thought it was super entertaining and fun and looked great in IMAX. The screening I went to for The Phantom Menace had a great crowd with a wide range of ages and everyone had a great time. Probably the best and most interesting film was Mars Express. It's an animated film from France distributed by GKIDS (don't know why it didn't give estimates for it but curious how it did in the actuals). It's like a sci-fi neo noir thriller. It's feels like a mix of Ghost in the Shell, Blade Runner, Total Recall and a little RoboCop thrown in. Definitely one that's worth checking out if you get the chance

@@OMBReviewsthe biggest miss was Challengers, it missed by $600000, Stars Wars Phantom Menance missed by $3000000. Total bias against any movie that doesn't fit your point of view like Tarot. You always revel when movies you don't personally like do bad. Is this supposed to be a box office breakdown or movie review site?

Bro you clearly didn’t even watch the video. I am an independent analyst. I call out Deadline because they present themselves as being objective journalists. I break down the numbers and keep it real. I mention when I like a movie and when I don't...and it still has no impact on the numbers. But good luck trying to make your baseless point.

I was watching beyond the trailer with grace randolph when she was discussing the box office results. I am sure I heard her pronounce the film tarot like "tear at" instead of "tah row". I guess she also doesn't know that the t is silent at the end. I guess we at least know she isn't into fortune telling. I'm sure she has seen a few films with that word being used however or watching someone using those type of cards at least. So I don't get how she wouldn't know how to pronounce that particular word.

Calling a film 'faith-based' doesn't help its broad appeal. If religion isn't stressed, maybe call if a 'family film'? We need more of those.

Personally I wouldn't see this movie because they are trying to use the retread (and going so far as to use an obscure series from the 80s) the madness must stop.

It fell short? Come on! An action film like this ought to have had the momentum that 87North has garnered in recent years. At this point, there's no sugar coating this. Things will get worse before they get better for movies in the theater.

i went to fall guy for emily blunt and she did not disappoint. i'm saying now that it would be a travesty to not have her use her natural brit accent going forward. ryan gosling was ripped to shreds for no reason really with just the one shirtless scene for the ladies. they were both so good opposite each other. i only gave it a 9 because there was a classic romantic comedy in there that was consumed by the admittedly epic action by half way. who knew that the stunt guy who made john wick and bullet train would have a pink thumb for romance. those who watched it, do you agree that sequence where emily and ryan talk as ryan gets set on fire repeatedly was finale material and would have been perfect at the end? also off topic... emily blunt should have been the next indy if it had to be a woman from her action prowess here, the intro to jungle cruise and the criminally overlooked edge of tomorrow. imagine her in the role instead of fleabag. almost believable.

Ryan Gosling isn't a draw.. he never has been. Regardless of how great he is in all of his roles. Plus people are broke with the economy in shambles.. I also love Emily Blunt but she doesn't draw me to this either. My theater is showing The Mummy as its the 25th anniversary for the movie. Thinking about asking the wife if she'd want to watch that tonight. At least we know what we're getting. 😂😂

2014 and Skull Island are the two top movies performance wise for the mosterverse. All the newer movies need inflated ticket prices to even compete but that also means the audiences were smaller but people just see the numbers and take them at face value. I wouldn't let it bother you. People are pretty ignorant these days 😂
