I think "frustrating" is one of the most accurate descriptions of Jon Jones on so many levels
Soooooo many levels
I felt bad for Rampage in this fight. Similarly to Shogun there were moments in this fight where Rampage didn’t know what to do because nothing was working and looked frozen.
I was devastated by the shogun fight i was a massive fan and jones just shut him down and made him look like a child its one of the most surreal fights ever if you show shogun before that
Like Elsa.
Yup throw Anthony Smith and Texiria up there too they were shocked had zero offense
TRT Vitor
@@dun0790i felt the same, Ive been watching Shogun ever since he beat the fuck out of Arona in Pride, than seeing him get the Belt from Machida while they were both in their prime and Jones beat him like he was a small child
Them oblique kicks got me limping around my house now
Such a dirty tactic in a fight 🤣🤣 like Page said he fought within "the grey areas of the rules"
@@drunkenmmamaster419 In what way is the oblique kick in a gray area? It’s completely 100% allowed. It was just new and no one could defend it back then.
@@user-vt3vo1yd3vImo it’s perfectly fine. If it works it works. And you land that kick correctly, it definitely works
He be trying to end people's careers with that kick.
@@user-vt3vo1yd3v exactly. Pretty sure a wheel kick to the dome does more damage than the oblique kick. I get why it would be frustrating but banning it would be ridiculous imo
Rampage was his own worst enemy. Instead of learning to defend the kick he just sooked and acted like you cant break peoples arms and legs
thank you god someone said it
The obleque kick was really new to MMA at that time, it was really hard to defend againts because you cant train like that.
Well to be fair most Mma fighters back in the day doesn't know how to defend the Leg kicks
@@OvO-plays the oblique kick is a kick to the leg….
@@salimmerabet9501 yeah except Robert Whittaker right? Lol not only learned the hard way. But learned to defend it realy quick after complaining about it like 'page did
And because of that he even developed a deadly one himself due to how effrctive it is. IMO his is the most effective one ever besides Jons.
You can definitely train to avoid it though. Its just rampage was too flat footed and couldnt fight backwards very well or switch stances. Nobody landing an Oblique on bobbt these days
Jon's timing is not brought up enough. He had the great ability to throw his strikes just before his opponents would. Like he'd pick up on their tells and throw just a second before they would and get them to freeze and eventually feel stuck not knowing what to do
Not to mention he doesn’t telegraph anything
If I had body like Jon Jones then I would be twice as accomplished as him and do it while being completely clean lol.
5:11 was so clean it looks choreographed 😂
Notice that Jon criticized Rampage for focusing too much on playing video games instead of training and many years later, ahead of his debut at HW against Cyril Gane, he also criticized him from focusing too much on playing video games
Jon Jones hates video games confirmed
He actually tells people how to strategize to beat a guy like him. A lot of fighters tried yo beat him one way they felt ( and some times accurately so) they were better. Jon used everything to beat them most of the time.
Rampage- raises his hand to to Callen's eyes.
Callen- "Fuck that"
to be fair I too would be terrified having rampage's hands under 7 feet from me let alone directly in my face
5:23 i felt the pain of that check through the screen 😬😬
Why didn’t Jon react ?
@@crazypato3752 ‘Cause he’s an absoloute beast
jones is one of if not the craftiest striker of all time
good strikers don't need to blind his opponents every fight with his fingers
Tony Ferguson ?
Tony Ferguson
U can remove one of easily. No one has that big arsenal and the wrestling.
@@rabitof5248 crafty isn't the same as good
I truly feel sorry for anyone who has to fight Jones, That man is a beast.
6:43
The realest of them all to the left
No joke I take Nate against Jon in a street fight
the front kick at 4:51 was so slick, the guy has no telegraph
Jones said he was afraid of rampage before the fight because he was too scary and he still beat him in a very dominant way. on the other hand, Rampage said that he fought with Jones in the best way.physical form and made no excuses saying that he was injured, assumed Jones' brilliance and acknowledged his defeat
I love how Martial puts a replay on shots that rampage was complaining about that landed cleanly and legally. Specifically kicks and elbows. Rampage is just bitter cus he got his ass whooped.
whilst being legal, doesnt change the fact its dirty. the oblique kick is widely regarded as dirty. however i completely disagree when rampage complained about the spinning elbows.
@@rbxee you really think an oblique is anymore dangerous than taking an elbow to the skull? This sport is ruthless even without the oblique kick buddy
@@Uzi16_29 overall a dirty shot that could potentially ruin a career, whilst the spinning elbow requires timing and leaving the offender widely exposed. not once did i complain about the brutality of the spinning elbow but if that’s what ya took from it.
It can ruin a career quicker yes… they know what signed up for but if someone didn’t let up on a joint lock and popped it. That is dirty, this gives no chance to tap
Nothing on the accusations of eyepoking though. Jones loves to poke eyes and that can't denied. He sticks his fingers out when ever the enemy comes forward. I have no problem with oblique kicks and spinning elbows since they are legal within the rule set. Eye pokes are not. He is so good that he doesn't have to eye poke, but he still does. Has there been one Jones fight without at least 2 pokes? He is still GOAT
The main issue is rampage was so boxing/brawl oriented that he was always fairly predictable throughout his career
Rampage had a Wrestling Background it’s fortunate he didn’t rely on it in UFC as much as in Pride
Jones was so ahead of his time it’s crazy
Yeah steroids help with that 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Helped him studing the opponent, and helping increase his fight Iq when to throw and what?
By the way Rampage was on TRT and couldn't do shit to Jones so what is your point exactly?
@@KingofRio no he wasn't Stop 🤣🛑
@@magicM526 He was Google up.
Or same thing with Vitor Belfort, Vitor was a TRT Hulk and Jones destroyed him brutaly regardless
@ice King just abt everyone in the ufc was at the time lol
Rampage been going around talking about Jon spinning elbows landing on the back of the head, well looked like it landed right on his forehead. I remember he kept calling Jon a kid leading up to this fight. Loved Rampage but he got abused in this fight. That's what Jon did to most fighters, by the 3rd or 4th round they just didn't want to be in there anymore. No he doesn't have knock out power but I bet most of his opponents rather get knocked out in the first round than abused for 5.
Exactly! I was watching this with my cousin and I told him I'd rather get kod in seconds rather than elbow, kneed, kick in the knee, over the course of 4 rounds and choked out.
Jon is a bit overrated lol.
@@edgar22452 It's true though, I'd rather face a quick one shot KO punch than get my knee hyper-extended from an oblique kick, cartilage In said knee torn up from hard knees In the clinch, my shoulder popped and dislocated out of place, the front of my forehead torn to pieces from slicing elbows (spinning or not), my feet stomped, shoulder strikes delivered to my chin, and my eyes gouged.
@@edgar22452Having the most title fight wins in UFC history is not overrated. The dude has been in more title fights than regular fights in his career. He's far from overrated, your standards are just dumb.
@@JiggyJones0 Your comment is dumb genius.
Jones has rampage, smith type fights or Reyes type fights, no inbetween.
Dominant, back n forth but clearly won ,and then jus str8 up lost lol he lost that especially the Alex fight he lost that no doubt
@@kingtownsend2536 The Reyes fight was close, neither guy clearly won. The first Gus fight was nowhere near as close as people remember. Jon clearly won that.
@@trevorrovert3103 ik the Reyes fight was close. I what that Alex fight like 4 times n I still got Alex winning 3 to 4 so I have no idea wat u talking about especially the 1 2 he completely did everything better the john
@@trevorrovert3103I agree that the Gus fight wasn’t as close as people remember but in my opinion the Reyes vs Jones fight was one of the worst decisions I’ve ever seen
@@trevorrovert3103 💯👍
Craziest part is since his young pride days that was the leanest and most in shape rampage looked in his UFC career and since and it still wasn’t even close enough.
2:06 is a tactical move to scare the opponent. Like a scorption crawling towards you to attack. Notice rampage backing away ! Jon is elite .
It's a tactic to fuck with the opponent by sticking his head forwards. It makes it so whoever is fighting can't do anything because head kicking him would get them disqualified.
It ain't that deep bud. Humans naturally fear things that are usually bigger than ourselves. So it's actually the opposite of that. No reason to fear a man closer to the ground
no it’s because Jon kept having nightmares of being KO’d at the start of the fight in the lead up. this was his way of altering the events that played out in his head over and over.
I mean honestly, I think stomps, 12 to 6 'bows, soccer kicks, headbutts, blows the the back of the head- basically everything but eye gouging, fish hooking and small joint manipulation should be legal. It's a simulation of a real fight and in a real fight, none of these things would be off limits so if it's a possibility, train to defend it or don't fight
You're not very bright are you ? And half of the fights in pride were fixed and fake
Are you talking to me? I didn't even mention PRIDE
Ur the same person that likes to see fighters die 😭
@@chasesmoot313 yeah because, there have been so many deaths in Pride and Vale Tudo where all of these techniques were legal. All I want is for the sport to be as faithful to a real fight as possible within reason. All of the techniques I describe have effective defenses, just like any other. There's just as much of a chance to kill someone if not more with a brutal spinning head kick (which are totally legal) as any of the things I mentioned which are currently against the rules. You obviously don't know much about the history of combat sports
A shot to the back of the head can paralyze you, r u insane?
Good editing.
I subscribed to Liam last night watching the last video. Thinking of how jon had fear in his heart of the aura of rampage jackson. Here Liam is 24hrs later with the perfect product.
his eyepoke tecnique is aways on point
Rampage a real one, he always speaks his mind, one of the best.
yeah even if he don’t know what he talking about 🔥
@@CRSHKNLyeah same like Jones fanboys ignoring the illegal Eyepokes 🔥
A real cry baby 😭🍼
Anyone else find it insane how rampage just pushes jones off him when he's in full mount like its nothing lol
Rampage had that raw power to him
The Bautista bomb he pulled off in pride was insane too
Damn jones made rampage his wife 😂
i agree about the oblique kicks they should be illegal theyre dangerous.
also, punches and kicks should be illegal you could actually really hurt someone if you hit them in the head, thats where their brain is supposed to be.
Jones has did a few things i always wondered if they would work in a fight like what he did to glover shoulder or some of the elbow set ups on evans funny always thought naah i someone would have did it by now lol shame i dont think of any stuff like that anymore i don't train anymore like
Lol wut?
@@drunkenmmamaster419 you never thought of a move or attack and been like why hasn't anyone did that before?
@@user-dj6ov2pn5x i haven't been able to train for about 3 years and you guys just must be very closed minded and not very creative because ive thought of hundreds and seen 1 or 2 work in fighting and im as average as you can get millions of people can do the same just not you 2 lol
@@user-dj6ov2pn5x that not at all what im saying wtf?
@@user-dj6ov2pn5x i mean for fucks sake people did judo for centuries and thought that was all before jui jitsu and sambo and again with them before the UFC why is it so hard to believe its still happens? I mean a lot of stuff is off limits in mma like eyes throats etc so there are loads of moves and techniques out there people haven't tried yet
Crazy that a veteran like Rampage doesn't understand mma
If you make the knee kicks illegal then you have to make leg locks and ankle holds illegal too.
5:23 OUCH
When you lose is a lot of excuses but if you win is nothing to said
I wonder what Jon's excuse will be when he loses?
@@edgar22452 He doesn't make any, because he embraces the loss and Isn't afraid of It much like how David Goggins taught him to not be afraid of being hurt. And equally understands It's apart of the game.
Unlike his haters that still complain til this day about the legends that he's ended In his career, he may have executed dirty tactics In his career yes, but so have other legends like DC Cormier and Stipe Miocic, doesn't make them any less great.
@@darkclaw1462 Yeah sure dude. His stupid ass fans will make excuses for him when he finally loses.
Damn, this was 150 UFCs ago.
This was an ass whippin... LMFAO
El Rey Jon Jones sin duda
Rampage no pudo hacer nada contra la cabra. Que terrible diferencia de nivel, impresionante.
Rampage just salty Jon sonned him
Bradley Martin sitting there like "Jones is only 205? I'm 265..."
Only Karatekas and good kickboxers can fight Jones equally standing up. Rampage, MMA is not only boxing and wrestling, you had to learn some asian kicking stuff and some BJJ too.
Jones is special
fighting jon jones is like a dose of cold reality
How is ANY kick to the leg worse than a kick or punch to the head? And should leg locks be banned? Rampage wasn't getting poked,he's mad he got whooped.
He wasn't saying head stomps should be banned when he was getting stomped in Pride FC
You probably never took a hard calf kick. They fucking hurt and ruin your movement
Go listen to Dustin Porier or Rob Whittaker talk about calf kicks 🤣🤣 that will open your eyes
Ah yes you can knee people and elbow them but kicking the leg is going to far
Man Jon Jones was not human
Yeah he's what you would say "enhanced" wink wink
Rampage had no answer
He waited years to say Jon was dirty before it was nothing but praise
The sympathy people give Rampage for bitching is insane lmfao if dude was savage enough to KO Wanderlei & Chuck I’m not going to sit here and cry about Jon Jones simply being in an entirely different stratosphere of greatness & dude is making excuses 🤣
Yaooo!!
Jones made Rampage look like an Amateur
Rampage is just an cry baby, I knee kick is apart of MMA.
Fate of the universe on the line, Martians have the death beam pointed at earth last fight you better win it. i want jon jones!
"Jon is a dirty fighter" says the guy who slammed someone into the shadow realm.
Okay that's a legal move in an mma fight. Eye poking , grabbing shorts , and the cage all aren't which Jon does almost every fight, you're such a casual
@@drunkenmmamaster419 Do your family a favor and Shallow a gun they will gladly appreciate it
Rampage is such a bum he over ate out of the 205 division and still lost to Chael who is a natural 180 pounder.
The GOAT
Spinning elbows hitting the backs of peoples heads? Tell me how that's physically possible without your opponent turning away! Rampage was Jones punchbag for this fight, he didn't have a clue what to do.
Dirtiest fighter or not, he is the greatest fighter.
Okay straight up isnt 6:06 a knee to the head of a grounded opponent?
No, that was a knee to the chest which is allowed.
@@sonny061188 I know that to the chest is legal but it still is awfully close to the head. A ref could easily think it is on the neck and call of the fight. Seems like a risky move for not that much reward
@@er7776 it was pretty clear shot to the body not the head.
