@@hugoramos8194 Most of my English-speaking friends here do online ESL teaching, as they mentioned in the video. There are TONS of companies to choose from. I did that for a bit of time myself to supplement. But my main work up to now had been in online business administration. I was a Spanish/English medical interpreter in the U.S. and when I moved here, I was fortunate to be able to continue working for the same company, but in a remote capacity (doing administration, accounting, training other interpreters, etc..). I've also done transcription and translation online, and now I've started an online language coaching business. If you take a look at your skill sets, previous work experience, or interests, there will almost always be a way to monetize that online. :)

Is there anything that would get you to move back to the states permanently? What do your families think? Do you plan to have kids and if so how will you decide where to raise them? I’m just nosy and asking y’all all these questions that are none of my business! My brother in law and his wife live in Yellowstone Park and they also have a “non-traditional “ lifestyle and are ultimately trying to find some land to become farmers. There's a FB group of Digital Nomads and another helpful one called Expats and Amigos in Manta, Manabi for tips on the coast to check out for tips. I've been here for almost 9 years. There's a good book written by former EC President, Osvaldo Hurtado, called Portrait of a Nation: Culture and Progress in Ecuador. While it specifically addresses Ecuador, the legacy left over from Spanish colonialism can be felt throughout Latin America. I didn't agree with all of the book, and found it to be. a bit discouraging at times, however, it did shed light on many issues. It's in English and Spanish.
