This was a similar time to when the perspective was completely changed (where your in game sight originates in relation to your character models) and a lot of confusion was going round about what is intentional and what isn’t. Yeah, CoreRoss asked "if you learned this where from?", and I'm like, "from YOU, dude, a long time ago". Might also be conflating it a little bit with a Rogue9 video from around the same time, but I remember learning and understanding this around the time that Siege changed the POV position while leaning, and everyone was apoplectic when this sort of thing started happening to them. When I play ranked I will track in a spreadsheet the mistakes that get me killed, and I have a whole category for "perspective". It's only about ~2% of my deaths, but it sucks when it happens.

In grim sky, when they fixed the lean spamming, this issue appeared, and it appeared frequently.
I’ve adapted. But there is a reason.
Used to, the camera perspective when you were leaning was on the side of your head. After the lean spam fix, they change the camera location on player’s head to the center of the head now.
Due to this, now the side of your head can be exposed while you can’t see that.
Used to, once the side of your head was exposed, you could see.

This wouldn't matter anyways because of peeker's advantage the person who peeks gets a whole second of a head start to react which places the one who holds the angle always at a disadvantage. Recently I found out that I won more duels being the peeker rather than the person holding an angle, its severely frustrating because I get beamed holding a solid angle and I can't react to it, but in the perspective of the peeker via kill cam they peek so slow but because of the delay it feels like you got Beaulo peeked.

One thing I never got on siege was how at this point in the game on your pov you lean and the gun tilts 45 degrees and from a enemy's pov youre leaning but the gun isnt tilted. Try bb with the shield on for example. I believe this was a thing in year one where the gun actually tilted from the 3rd person pov. But their backs broke trying to lean
I also wish they changed the cameras back to the side of the head while leaning so aggro swing peaks arent just better than holding peaks sometimes
Edit: when they changed the camera angles @coreRoss I figured this out from watching a video where get flanked complained about this a year ago and I realised it made sense that they can see your head more. This is when they changed the camera angle from the side while leaning to the middle. It makes sense you see less and now I hold angles from further back too because if they peek slowly they can see you way before you see them. Maybe it's time to start slow peeking again. Good content as always coreRoss.

Rogue9 said that ubi changed the way the camera works (around 2019/20). It used to be that the camera leaned to the side edge of your head when you leaned, but they changed it because 'realism' to stay at the centre of the head instead, opening up the problems that are now present in siege where an invisible enemy kills you. For years, this never used to happen. "Utter wank!" I hear you cry.

It all makes sense now, thanks coreross. I've literally died so many times due to this and I finally get it.

Yes I actually did know that's it list from CS go and the channel that talked about it was WarOwl, great guy.
Also although this video wasn't really talking much about it I personally Find pixel peaks Impractical (the ones where you have a tiny area to aim. Ones that coconut or jaguar shows you). Unless your in masters and had incredible godlike aim and the enemy happens to walk into that tiny location, There's no way in hell I'm going to hit that.

Great video Core, you are one of the best siege content creators. It’s not always about gameplay and we appreciate your hard work

Anyone else having a glitch on pc since the new season where the game confuses your controls for a controller? I had to reinstall the game once the season came out, and I can't put in a ticked at r6fix, because it is saying my account does not meet the requirement to access the content. I uninstalled and reinstalled my game, and it worked for a day I think, then it switched back over to confusing my controls. Any idea on how to help?

All this happens in real life and you will feel exactly the same way if you ever play something like airsoft (even though airsoft guns are rarely as accurate as the guns in r6).
I'm just going to say one thing: it would be a really easy thing to put the camera exactly at the players eye to the side they're leaning towards if it had been an intended feature from the start of r6's developement. The only reason why it's hard to do now is because nobody thought of it at the design phase, which is a mistake in such an angle-based game. The only issue here should be whether capitao should be able to see with his missing eye or not xD (but I guess they could just give him a cybernetic eye given how sci fi the game has become).

I'm curious about how this merges with the peekers adventage (Rogue9 did a video about this I think), because if you merge them, the defender holding a pixel peek is at a tremendous disadventage against a fast swinging Ash.

Sorry if this is answered later in the video, I'm still at 4:07 when I write this comment because I gotta go, but wasn't there somehting that they would move the camera inside the head of the operator depending on how they leaned? Was that removed? Because at this point of the video it seems to me like that would help mitigate this effect
