I find it disagreeable the way you assert that orthodoxy is the sole path to salvation, which I respectfully deem inaccurate. Identification as orthodox, Catholic, or Protestant does not guarantee entry into heaven. The key lies in the belief that God sent His only son to redeem humanity. Salvation is contingent on unwavering faith, not denomination. Refrain from presenting orthodoxy as the exclusive route to salvation, acknowledging the diversity within Christian denominations. The perception of orthodoxy as flawless is misleading, given theological variations. Despite my frustration with the absence of a unified Christian church, it's essential to address the nuances of belief systems. Orthodox doctrine, notably the belief that the Holy Spirit proceeds solely from the Father, requires examination. A persuasive case for the authenticity of orthodoxy, considering the theological stance on the Holy Spirit, could prompt me to explore this faith further.

I actually made the meme at 6:59 referring to the smudging ritual, when the Pope came to Alberta (my home province) to do that. I’d already went down the trad Roman Catholicism pipeline. By that time, I considered going Byzantine Rite. Luckily I just skipped the silly Byzcath LARPing and went to a ROCOR 15 minutes away (in a city of about 100 000 people, so I was lucky there was one nearby). Theres not much point for a Christian who couldnt gain interest to be a banker or loaner. So usually what happened is a Christian or Christian emperor/king/pope would borrow money from the Jewish banks and then not be able to pay them back. So they would get out of it by calling them Christ killers and either banning them from the city/country or by outright killing them. @Kyle,
Here is an orthodox christian in a "traditionally orthodox" country - Bulgaria. I am thanking God seeing pure orthodox faith in a country so far away.
Brother, I am writing you with an urgent request to raise a voice in defense of orthodoxy against avarice (simony) that holds in captivity (almost) the whole of the orthodox church in the east (in Bulgaria for sure).
I am speaking about the practice of requiring money (taxes) for performing the sacraments on the faithful - there are taxes to get baptized, to marry and to be included in the prayers by the priesthood. There are no taxes for the Holy Mysteries probably only because it was directly condemned by the 6th Ecumenical Council.
I tell you, brother, there is not a single voice in my country condemning this abomination - so successful is this scheme of the dragon.
Please make a video about this proclaiming the eternal orthodox belief condemning avarice (simony) in the most severe terms.

Look I'm from Greece. We have a similar tradition here for sacraments like baptism and wedding. If you want to make a baptism or a wedding for free because you can't afford one, you can. BUT, if you're having a glamorous and expensive ceremony it's really cheapy on you not to give something to the church. Don't forget that people like the chanter and the guy's keeping up/cleaning the church and helping the priest during the sacrament need to get paid nowadays because they take time from their day to be there for you. You see guys having a $5000-$10000 wedding feast for 300+ guests and cheap out and complain for the $50-$200 the church asks for the people I mentioned and the electricity...For all the other simple prayers giving money is optional here ($1-$5 totally on you). The worst thing that can happen if you don't give anything is a weird look but it's really rare tbh.

Kyle, I had heard about Orthodoxy years ago from Tristan Haggard (known as Primal Edge Health at the time) and never really delved into it when I was finding my faith and my way back to Christ. I eventually fell into Protestantism because I knew nothing about apologetics for Christian denominations, just that Christ was God and Christianity was true. I stumbled upon your page several months ago and through binge-watching you, as well as Jay Dyer and many other Orthodox Christian channels and joining the Orthodox discord, I decided to become Orthodox. I attended my first divine liturgy just over a month ago and have now been in contact with the Father of that church, I'm currently an inquirer but hope to become a catechumen and eventually a full part of this church. In the early 2000s, I spent a lot of time over 5 years or so engaged in arguing apologetics w/ CS Lewis Society. The best apologists in our group were a RC, a Reformed protestant, a secular philosopher and a skeptic. I was vaguely protestant myself at the time and got my lumps and also several lumps "in" as it were, too. The main takeaway from all of the time and research I spent was that the intellect is barely a problem. It's the heart that is the problem. One particular protestant (a Baptist preacher) was mean-spirited towards our RC host/moderator, but the moderator would not engage in specific doctrinal disputes, resigning himself to a "mere Christianity" vs secular/atheist argumentation instead. The Baptist made some snide remarks about the Eucharist which were even offensive to me. So I took up his challenge to "prove" the Eucharist as RC's understand it. He conceded in the end saying that he still couldn't accept the facts I had delivered, but he was thankful that I was on the Christian side of the argument. This left me with a dilemma of my own. As a protestant who had now sufficiently *proven the "Real Presence", how could I remain protestant myself? I couldn't.
I like to tell people now that I spent many years doing Christian apologetics and the only person who ever converted was me. Ultimately, I ran into the same issues with the RCC as you have elucidate time and again, and it left me despondent, tbh. I didn't actually grasp and had not looked closely enough at the differences between EO and RCC to see the actual distinctions. Long story short, my wife and I were made Catechumens at our Antiochian parish just before Lent this past winter and are now firmly on the path to reception into full communion next Pascha.
I'm not a big believer in the efficacy of apologetics, for the reason(s) stated above. It has value to the individual who chooses to actually engage the arguments with a clear eye on their own motives, but aside from that, I find little to recommend in apologetics--viewing it as one tool in the box rather than the go-to hammer that fixes most things. That said, exposure to argumentation can be the catalyst for that individual to question their own assumptions, ignorance(s) and motivation, and it does hold value in that regard. In the end, it still comes down to the heart far more than the head and has much more to do with intellectual pride than it does with heartfelt humility and/or concern for the Truth, imo.

It's extremely hard, especially when you really care about them, but you have to learn how to live how YOU are supposed to live, not let others force their ways down your throat.
I remember feeling like I needed to help them, to lead them away from what I saw was a dark path, but I've realized that the only reason I was able to leave that path myself was my own intuition changing and my mindset shifts. Nothing anyone directly said to me made me grow, but only consistent failure and self-thought did.

That I "bounced around" from my cradle church (Lutheran) to agnostic, and back Lutheran. This wasn't a problem until I converted to Orthodoxy!

And this "searching time" took 10 years! I'm not joking, I did my search for 10 years. Now I'm 24, found the way, Orthodoxy. But before Orthodoxy, I thought the way is Orthodox Judaism, before that Catholicism, Protestantism, Islam, New Age things... I'm glad finally I'm home, and I'm glad that God let me do my search in my way and let me learn the World. Because thanks to this, I do not have any questions about Orthodox Christianity.

I'm really sorry you lost your friends when you converted, I'm blessed mine began inquiring shortly after I did too, and I hope in time that your friends will come home to Orthodoxy too.
It's so funny to me when they argue with the "denomination hopping". In reality they don't care if you changed your mind thousands of times, as long as you end up submitting to Rome. They tried this against someone close to me too, he went from atheist, non-denom, inquired into catholicism and then Orthodoxy, they said he wasn't allowed to change his mind so many times, but they'd forgive him if he changed his mind one more time if he settled with catholicism... He wasn't even set on anything, just looking into things too, but they viewed him as a traitor.
Don't worry or bother with any accusations of "anti-semitism", it's all the barkings of a dog who has been cornered. Their last effort to put you on the defensive.
They sure do love saying "God sent the muslims and communists to punish you Orthodox", but I wasn't aware that catholics held a belief in prosperity theology. When they themselves are persecuted, they say "look, satan is attacking us because we are the True Church!", it's all nonsense.
The "qudasha of mar nestorius" was quite a major reason me and some friends ruled out catholicism, I'm glad you brought it up. Eastern catholics, the one group they say all Orthodox should become, they know so little about it, and they assume the only thing that mattes to us is aesthetics.
Thank you for reaching the Zoomer generation. My friends with shorter attention spans (no hate, not everyone can focus on very dense theological stuff with big words for hours) or less free time seem to really like your content.
The end of the video made me cry, thank you little apple man for your wisdom, truly Orthodoxy is the most beautiful thing we have here, because it alone leads us to Christ 🥺🙏

Vs... I dunno, someone like Elder Ephraim of Arizona, not even canonized yet.. but even my own parish priest saw him surrounded in a giant, brilliant light, brighter than the sun in broad daylight. Also said shortly before he died "soon the world will turn around and wear a mask." He reposed Dec 2019... a little over a month later mask mandates began in the U.S. Nevermind many of my personal friends who received blessings from him and said they could immediately sense tremendous grace, peace and holiness just being around him.

16:09 Something similar happened to me actually. I was debating with a Catholic who kept saying Orthodoxy was heretical, but still has valid sacraments. Apostolic Canons 45-46 refute this, early Church history refutes this. Heretics cannot have valid sacraments, and if Orthodoxy has valid sacraments, then we aren't heretics.
Back to the point, I think he realized he was losing, so basically he pinged every single Catholic and used the cheapest insult to make it look like he was winning. I'll paste his exact words here:
"@Catholic Look at this EO larper. The Filioque was apparently condemned but he’s not gonna tell me when or where 😂"
I had to deal with this for practically all his comments. We had switched from talking about Orthodoxy to the Filioque. He pinged every Catholic in the discord server just to make himself more powerful. He tried to attempt to use insults to make his claims true, but much to his demise. I pray for him, for he clearly doesn't understand early Church teachings.
The point of my comment is this. Many Catholic I've debated (at least 3-4) have said similar things. "Look at this EO fake Apologetic" "Look at this kid who thinks he understand big stuff" etc. These insults are terrible to use, it just makes the person I'm debating look like a fool. I never insulted anyone once because when I debate, I am actually serious and treat the other person with respect.

9:22 Exactly. Catholicism begins with Scholasticism, which the Orthodox Fathers regarded as essentially atheism.
Scholasticism logically leads to Protestantism, which leads to Rationalism and then to Atheism.
The modern West moves back and forth between these extremes.
Their underlying commonality is that they have two inconsistent principles: they separate Authority (or why they believe and what is true) and Love.
These two principles that are inconsistent with each other, and thus one must apply them arbitrarily.
The one principle is the basis by which they believe: it is authority, reason or power.
That is the primary principle to which they must submit.
The other principle is love, compassion, and kindness. This principle is good and wise, and one should apply it.
But they cannot resolve the two principles into one governing principle of when they should submit to the Authority and when they should act according to Love.
Essentially, their belief system is inconsistent. This is why Atheism, Protestantism and Scholasticism are the same belief system.
It's either Facts only, or Faith only, or the Bible only, or the Pope only, some powerful Authority and that is the source of Truth for them.
This source does not have to be loving - it must be followed nevertheless.
And then issues of Love are secondary, desirable but cosmetic.
Watch on CZcams a short video by Bertrand Russel in his message to future generations: Facts only, but love is wise.
This is just another form of Protestantism, which is another form of Scholasticism.
It is the religion that thinks it perceives the essence of God and things, as if their mind can know the fulness of knowledge. They cannot distinguish essence and energies of nature.
In Orthodoxy, Belief and Practice are one.
Pride corrupts knowledge. Only one who makes progress in the virtues comes to know God, and our knowledge of God is always partial, which knowledge manifests humility.
All things derive from Love. Every doctrine, every belief, and every action should be governed and directed by Love.
Take for example ecclesiology: conciliarity is the principle of a community of persons sharing in common, which is love.
Take sacraments: the Lord performs all sacraments where two or three are gathered in his name: this is the image of the Trinity, which is Love, which is a community of persons sharing in common.
Every aspect of Orthodox belief and practice derive from the single principle of Love. Authority is from Love. Power is from Love. Truth is from Love.
    This is Orthodoxy.
In the modern West their beliefs are derived from some principle that is akin to worldly power, divorced from virtue, whereas Love and so forth are nice additions.
But when do they choose to follow the principle of Love, and when the principle of Authority (Facts/Faith/Pope only)? It is arbitrary. This is why it is contrived and false.

I want to express how much I've enjoyed your CZcams channel. It's clear that when you're on the path to success, you'll encounter some challenges, including people who may try to slander you. This can come from various quarters, whether it's from your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, be they Catholics, Protestants, or Orthodox believers, or even from those with negative intentions. However, I want you to know that your videos are truly outstanding. Please don't change your approach; keep up the excellent work. Your content has profoundly impacted me, assisting me greatly in my faith journey, particularly as I explore Orthodoxy. Your dedication and the content you create are truly game-changers. Thank you!!☦

That doesn’t have anything to do with being Catholic it’s just a person with a low level of emotional maturity.

There are many cases of people claiming people are going to orthodoxy for worldly reasons, sometimes it is true with a lot of morally unwell men and women these days. But for the most part people just cant grasp that people want to change for the correct reasons because the stone throwers cant wrap their head around it.
As a woman that had a very rough past with morality and religion and converting to a very old school branch of Christianity that has gotten bigger lately, I have seen this many times. I've lost friends, been called some messed up things and have been showed some messed up memes about it targeted towards me. Sometimes gods grace just hasn't reached them in a way that makes them see the truth and they are bitter about it.
That being said our goal is to be saints. All of us. Look at them with love and pray relentlessly, for them and yourself. If it is in his will it will happen. But on a positive note we have the service to pray for their salvation after death, there is still hope.
I'm sorry you went through something like this, it can hurt. Your videos and pencils and prayer ropes we're the fire under my butt to convert and go to church. God bless you and thank you for your entertaining yet very straight forward content.
