Custom Code for the Tormach Lathe - Using the Ez Puller and Automatic Collet

- A mHUB member asked Quinn to mill a bunch of tiny parts from two sticks of 304 stainless. Using the Tormach lathe, the job gave Quinn a reason to try two tools he’d never used before: the part puller and automatic collet closer. Without these tools the job would start, stop, and then require the material to be manually moved - over and over. Quinn was able to build and code a model in Fusion 360 so the job could run itself using the ez puller, bar feeder, and automatic collet for lights out machining.

Bravo sir
Great video, if you add a basket (parts catcher) to bottom of tool slide. You will not have to fish parts out chip bin when cycle is finished. Sweet little machine
Ha! Ironically enough we're running this job again and will be devising a parts catcher to go with it. If we capture it on video we'll post an update. Thanks for watching and for the good suggestion (great minds think alike!)
I see these tormach lathes "home" after every operation. Could the G&M code be manually edited to avoid these wasted movements between turret tool changes? If I purchase this lathe I intend on running production with it right away and if i could eliminate any extra travel that would be a huge benefit. Thanks
Good question! Quinn is traveling for the next two weeks but will give this some thought upon his return. We'll get back in touch. Cheers!
Hey, You should probably blur out system passwords. IE @1:33
Nice flag - thank you. Updates made and will be on the lookout for similar culprits to blur in the future. Cheers.
and what ya going ro do with it. if you walk in job u allready own machine even password read there lol
