As for the whole Robin debate, Dick Grayson is the most prolific Robin, appearing by himself in Teen Titans, Young Justice, Batman: The Animated Series, etc. When most people think or say Robin, they're referring to Dick Grayson undoubtedly. If any normal person was to know a comic book sidekick, I'd say it's Robin. Knowing about Red Hood, or Red Robin, or even Damian Wayne is most likely difficult for the average person.
I grew up with Tim Drake myself. To me he was the best Robin.

Nightwing is one of my favorite characters, but Chris and Derrick are (sadly) right. The majority of people don't know who he is, in the same way that most people didn't know who Iron Man was before 2008.
Honestly I think it’s just because he is just the embodiment of a side character. He is never really doing anything significant enough that any other robin couldn’t do outside of the order of the owls but they did reach do much with that concept.

There's no way the average person knows who Dick Grayson, Nightwing, or whoever that Todd Robin guy is. These names aren't in mainstream theatrical live-actions films. Even most of the people who saw the Joker movie won't remember the Joker's original name, Arthur.

Barely anyone has watched the original. it's more a perfect commentary of the expectations of advertisements and mainstream pop culture not teaching the expectations that blockbuster movies have established with movies like transformers/superhero movies that give fair screen time to their titular characters.
Sweeney is COMPLETELY wrong here, I'm a bit of a geek, I enjoy the DC stuff but don't read the comics, and I didn't immediately know who Dick Grayson was, and I absolutely have no idea what the Jokers real name is. There is NO WAY the majority of people know these things, I'd even say Chris' answer of 80% of people on the street not knowing is an underestimate, probably closer to 90%.

I love Sweeney and am a huge comic fan but I just want to remind everyone that barely anyone remembered any of the characters names from Avatar, one of the highest grossing box office movies of all time. Its not impossible that a lot of people will consume media and just forget it because they have other shit in their life.

I never find myself defending superhero comics because I kind of agree. I think in general they’re lame because they’re consistently held back by the editorial staff even though I love them. I despise the civil war storyline with all of my heart and I hate the fact that they feel a constant need for me to check out new comic series in order to see a event progress. Marvel especially gets on my nerves because they refuse to reboot Earth 616 while constantly finding dumber and more contrived ways to revert to the status quo. I want a modern retelling of 616 with Peter Parker dealing with high school drama and growing as a person over the course of an IRL couple years, not 2 decades. Same thing with the rest of marvel. They do the same shit DC does except more contrived. At least DC’s reset storylines are cool in concept. Hell even One More Day could’ve been good, but here we were with the really shitty version that was rushed out.

As someone who didn't recognize any of those names: When i watch a movie and they introduce a character like "this is inspector gordan" have no idea what names I should remember. I don't know if this is gonna be a recurring character in the universe i don't know if this character is canon or if it's just a side character with an unimportant name that the writers of this movie came up with for the sole purpose that they needed a name. Also i suck at names and i don't care about comics you frickin nerds

But I'm sorry, people just don't know any of that, regular folk thinks Venom is spiderman's nemesis, because it looks like him but evil, and it was a big deal in the 90's show. Nobody remember's Jack Nicholson's Joker's name from the Keaton's movies, nor read White Knight, is just how things are man.

Okay, on the "fighting" topic.
I don't like to fight. I try to avoid that type of confrontation at ALL costs. Mostly, because I don't have that mental dial that says "Okay, just defend yourself, DON'T kill anyone." Or "Okay this is just a nice sparring session, take it easy." There are only two settings in my head "Calm" and "Murderous fucking rage." I know if I were to get into a fight, either I would end up dead, or they would end up dead. And on a conscious level, on a moral level, I don't want anyone to die. That's not who I am as a person. Subconsciously, if I let that part of me off its leash, I know I do not have the capacity to restrain myself. And that fucking scares me a little. That's why I will never allow myself to fight, I will never allow myself to own a gun (in addition to my suicidal tendencies), I will always attempt to deescalate the situation by any means.

The depths of Sween's insanity deepen greatly this episode.
Here's some thoughts:
1) Superman, Batman, & The Bat-Family are Awesome, but their representation in more popular forms of media are fairly shoddy. We have never received a great Live-Action interpretation of any of these characters that really capture the potential these characters have.
2) Overly-Gritty Batman stories have sort of ruined the characters reputation; & the more "realistic" writers try to make him & the universe he lives in, the more Batman becomes less of a hero & more of a monster on par with the people he gets put in Arkham.
3) Most people like Superheroes, but many don't actually give a shit about Superheroes. They like it when the Red & Blue one punches the Green & Purple one, but don't actually give a shit about the characters & the drama, & the history behind those fights. Chris's Observation is the truth. Most people like Superheroes in concept.
4) Jack Napier is only officially named Jack Napier in 3 timelines, Burton, DCAU, Sean Gordon Murphy-Verse
5) Comics are a medium which could be so much more popular in the States; but due to public smear campaigns about the content presented in said books during the 50s, Publishers were essentially forced to eliminate material that appealed to older audiences; which then led to the stigma that Comics were for kids & that's it. If you pull out a issue of Spider-Man out during a subway commute, & people will look at you weird. Go to any other country with a decent Comic Book Market & no one would bat an eye.

I agree that the actual gameplay was clunky, to an extent. Especially the cover system.
But i absolutely love the weapon/armor customization in the first one.
When they removed it in number 2 i almost didnt play.
I think overall 3 is the best. 2 may have the better story but 3 had that super polished gameplay. That imo made up for it.

It's not even about paying attention when you watch a movie. It's about remembering it indefinitely, which isn't really that easy. I love Atlantis, but I'm not sure I could tell you the name of everyone from the main cast. I just haven't seen the movie in a long time. "Nerds" remember Gordon's surname because they're constantly reminded by watching Batman related media, not because they "paid attention"

Then again, I never played the first two games, so maybe I missed out. Hell, even if I did, I would probably still stick to Yennefer anyway.

Anecdotal, but i think that shows alot about how wrong Sweeny is about that whole argument. I thought Joker was supposed to be a mystery. I thought his identity was supposed to be unknown. At least that's how it's portrayed in The Dark Knight. And then of course you have a VERY different, more grounded approach with the Joker movie where you do know his name, but that one isn't as canon i dont think
