Watching your videos Rodney have made me appreciate the art of explaining a game. I sometimes watch other how to channels simply because you haven't covered the game or they happen to end up higher in the search and almost always I leave within a few minutes and search again hoping you have explained the game too. What I think you do brilliantly is you explain the flow of the game not just the rules; which most other channels seem to focus on. This flow creates some context to connect everything to which makes all the difference. Awesome stuff! Keep it up!
I like a lot the way this game treats time constraints you have, compared to speed games with timers and hourglasses which are more stressful than fun.
Thank you for the tutorial. I've seen a few reviews but I was never quite clear about the mechanics and I think the reviewers did that in order to not spoil some of the game. I don't own any games that use technology and while I realize that using your phone can be quite useful for some games I was still unsure how well it would be implemented. You did an excellent job demonstrating how to play the game without spoiling it. I now know whether or not this game would be a good addition to my game group.
There was only one gotcha that I've found so far as it was having to scan an item at a location when you weren't talking to someone and it "used" that item. This was not explained that you could do and was something we struggled a bit with and did this out of a bit of desperation and it worked. I didn't notice it in the video.

Can't believe I missed it when it came out, I just wished for it for Christmas (ok more like I was with my mom buying it) Can't wait to actually play it. Haven't been this existed for a board game in a while

How does this game compare to Detective? My husband and I played the latter and we found it overall enjoyable, but very reading heavy. I love your videos! Would you ever do a HTP for Last Friday? We have that game too but fine the rules very confusing.

If it was not for your learn to play, alot of people would have demanded their money back as no where, not the rule book, not in the entire base game, not in any learn to plays I watched for this game except yours does it state to click on London Forensics. I do not know why it is not obvious to the publisher that you must tell people which app and where in the app to click. - just mentioning that there is an app is not enough. I think Chronicles of Crime would have been a manor flop if not for your video .

Hi Rodney...quick question regarding gameplay if I may? When you visit a crime scene for the first time you collect the evidence category cards as you described and then scan them to see if they are potential clues. What do you do later in the game if you feel like you should have chosen more of those cards and want to look/scan them? Do you have to go back to the location of the crime scene and repeat the process of looking at the scene and then saying what you see so fellow gamers can pick from the evidence category cards once again? Or do you simply have free reign to pick them up and hoc throughout the game as you see fit? Great tutorial by the way and thanks for all the amazing work you produce!
The rules don't address this specifically, so I'm not certain what the intention would be. I'd personally be inclined to think you would need to revisit the crime scene, to be able to pick and scan more cards - but I tend to play co-operative games with the odds stacked against the players.

I personally feel the same as you in that one should have to revisit the scene of the crime again to be able to pick more cards as it runs the clock down so there will always be a penalty to getting more cards if you so wish. Me and my family started playing the Chronicles Of Crime 2400 (The Millennium Series) and we got stuck on the tutorial scenario, we tried asking every character about any clue/other character that we had found so far but it got us to nowhere. Where could we find hints/solutions to the problem so that we can go on with the mystery?
My guess is that there perhaps a crime scene you haven't explored, OR, if you did explore it, you missed an item from that crime scene which is important. That said, checking the forums for this game on BoardGameGeek is another place to post a question, or see if you can find an answer.
Wow! I saw this game when it was first being tested and I was very skeptical about it. I figured this gameplay would be boring and very limited. They really flushed it out well

You could, but only people with the app could do the VR inspection parts of the game, and they would have to scan the cards and communicate to the other players what is going on.

It's the same each time, but there may be slight changes in the experience you have, because of the way you interact with different items in the game. The solution doesn't change though.
The cases are the same. You can reply them to try different ways to solve it, or to catch things you missed - but the answers to the cases will be the same.

My box appears to have a slot for dice, am I missing something? it didn't come with any dice and I didn't see any dice used in the tutorial.
No slots for dice as far as I know. There is a slot for the optional VR glasses you can pick up. Maybe that's what you're seeing?

The app does no change the cases. Once you do them all, you can buy expansions or wait for new ones.

Everything is the same again. The replayability comes from new scenarios.

The line is wherever you decide to draw it. Some people don't want any app in their games, and others think it enhances them.
