Awesome video bro .
Can we do a couple of guns again but with no barrel obstruction please as some you did you obstructed the barrel that and a fammas as it seems no one has one
please test martini henry gun 🫶🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
@@fuhrermk92 hey there
Blow up a H&r single shot 12 gauge with no barrel obstruction just a lot of pressure
My language isn’t that *dolphin noise* bad!
Yes it is.
😂😂 well how did you like how it held up I was impressed myself
i am sad inside when i saw my favorite gun in the world destroyed.
Again it looks like a large majority of the rifle could very much be salvaged. Save for obviously the spring, dust cover(which we all know aks dont really need) and maybe one of the trunnions and magazine. Everything else stayed surprisingly intact. I mean goddamn even the trigger (which for most other guns is the first thing to stop working after it has a catastrophic failure)still actuated which means i personally believe at least that most of the internal workings were still functional. The barrel itself even looked salvagable. Quite the testament to the ak platform as a whole.
Your ak didnt deserve that

We need a 3rd channel of Scott just putting things in the chipper for 20 minutes at a time

@@phillipriggs3375 hi bro yeah that would be funny heyyyyyy
I'm honestly shocked at how well that AK held up. That was VERY impressive
I was expecting way more carnage, very surprising how well it held up. The dummy definitely would have brown pants, maybe a few cuts but surprisingly no massive damage to the skull, throat, or even the hands.
Is Kalashnikov, comrade; it is a mighty instrument of the workers will
@@Shawn_the_Protogen its the heavy bolt!
Scott needs to ask the CIA for one of their spicy HE rounds for the AK ...
rifle is fine
Interesting results. I'm now waiting for Brandon to get out the whiteboard and explain how the bolt carrier was able to stay locked in battery even while the pressure blew the dust cover off and the bottom of the mag out. Cool video!
I'm guessing the receiver warped enough that the rails the bolt carrier group rides between caused an issue with the BCG cycling normally.
Something something trunnion
I think the bolt got split in half and was a pressure released …
@sushiiseatingsushi There is also the path through the firing pin in the bolt. At least some of the pressure took that route, which I'm guessing is why the bolt was damaged the way it was (along with being smacked by the rear piece of the cartridge).
Also, the piston assembly didn't look to have been affected much, though KB didn't take the gas tube assembly out to see if there was any bulging or other damage there. It also should have affected the gas block if that was the case.
@@colchronic *Happy AC Noises*
That was impressive-the way the AK held up to about 4x the normal pressure. It looks like it inflicted only minor injuries on the shooter.
Also, loved the AK Guy guest appearance. It’s unethical to destroy an AK without Brandon’s blessing.
Well, to be fair, it was a Century C39, which are manufactured from melted beer cans and usually don't survive more than 1,500 rounds being fired through them before the trunion lock-up ears crack or completely shear off, or the head-space shifts because the barrel cross-pins were machined improperly, either way these things blow up all on their own with no special conditions required.
@@gmf8171 where did you did this information? Trunnion cross pins...
@@AlexN2022 There is only one Trunion pin, and if you can drive your trunion pin out by tapping on it with a drift and hammer- it is too loose.
Those things are supposed to have almost 0 clearance and be installed with a hydraulic press.
If they move AT ALL, your headspace also moves, and it can cause the AK to go Kaboom.
The AK variants that Century built out of their own parts are usually very poor quality and have loose trunion pins, trunion is softer than the bolt so that the bolt ends up shaving and/or cracking the trunion lugs, the wooden butt-stocks tend to crack because they were improperly made, Century is infamous for tapping the gas port in the barrel too large with the wrong drill bit and causing the gun to "over-gas" wherein the bolt carrier violently slams into the back of receiver.
My advice is that if you own a C39, C39 V2, or RAS-47, you should just train with them until they explode, then buy a Zastava, K-USA, PSA, or something else that is actually made properly by people who know what they are doing.
If you own Century-built parts-kit gun like the AK-63 or WASR, you can polish your trigger group and install an M-CARBO +15% recoil spring, and you'll see a big improvement. The bolt/trunion in these are good, so you don't have to worry about them blowing up.
Another option, which is less convenient but could result in a much better quality AK, is buy one of the mil-surp parts kits that are out there, like there are Polish Tantal parts kits available now for about 1,000, then go to a company that builds AKs (like Brandon Herrerra) and you can hire them, send them the parts kit, and they will return you a complete working rifle (to your FFL)
There's no "trunnion pin". Barrel pin being loose would indeed be an issue, but would not lead to any "kabooms". Barrel would only walk out, not in. You'd lose lock-up, before that you'd lose precision, but you'd be safe.
Build an AK before you give out advice.
Century's AKs are fine for at least as long as since 2013. Maybe at some point in the past they had quality problems, but that was more than 10 years ago.
@@AlexN2022 There's two things I would never do.
1. take your advice
2. fire any AK that you built.
Hi Scott, I have an idea: they other day when you celebrated your 730 day recovery, you mentioned how much you can bench press. I really wonder sometimes how much weight a bullet can “bench press” or move an object a certain distance. All the variables give much fun I think.
“How much can bullets bench press?!”

Brandon is smiling ear to ear right now. He knew the AK would give up its life to save the shooter, lol.
Scott, I enjoy your videos. Gun failure can be extremely devastating to the user or even fatal. You are providing a great service to all of us by indicating how gun failure can occur due to hot rounds or other mechanical issues.
I just know that Brandon sensed a disturbance in the force when that AK blew up 😂
At least it was just a Century and not a Saiga, Vepr, or god forbid a true Kalashnikov
It was a Century, he probably felt a weight lifted from his chest.
he is crying and wine-coping with whiteclaw
Yeah luckily it was one of the cheapest and most shity ak you can find😅
@@richrich4980 that's a milled receiver though.... Century or not, that's a crime. Set the receiver free without harm and blow up the rest of the kit on something stamped.
The repeated dolphins noises followed by the very mild mannered “white claw” was perfect and deserved two separate play backs. Good stuff man.
Scott absorbs recoil like an enemy would absorbs his lead! Holy crap that boy can stay on target :)

I just celebrated my 2 year anniversary since my brain decided to bleed internally. I am on my way to full recovery. Thanks for the videos I got to watch while I was in the hospital. Just ordered the two year shirt to wear proudly. Thumbs up 👍

Glad your better bro
This is actually consistent with the AK that kaboomed on my dad a few years ago. It was also a century AK. The bottom blew out of the magazine and the dust cover hit him in the head, made a small cut on his forehead, and knocked his glasses off, but he was otherwise uninjured.
Your dad had the most durable RAS47
@@Silentguy_ The gun actually belonged to a guy that was at the gun club at the same time we were. It just decided to blow up while my dad was shooting it instead of while the owner of the gun (or one of the owner's kids) was shooting it.
Also, the gun was junked afterwards. But it junked itself in a way that minimized damage to the operator, and while an adult was shooting it, so we're all pretty thankful for that part, at least.
Century ak's are hand grenades just waiting to go off and I dont have exact numbers but I certainly do see and hear a lot, a LOT, of centuries exploding. And now with psa offerings there is almost no reason to get a century today
during the Vietnam war the American government distributed 7.62 with explosive powder to the viet cong. A lot of those bullets were never used and kept showing up in other wars. Prob not what happened to your dad tho

I can imagine that Brandon was actually pleased with the results of this test.
Yea I'm sure Brandon would def appreciate the fact that it was a US version and nothing from "Mother Russia" was harmed in the filming of this episode. When Scott started out with the VEPR, I'm not gonna lie, I was getting a lil heated to think he was going to destroy that.

I swear I love this guy’s intro skits. So hilarious throughout the whole video too lol 😭
😂 Gotta love the guest visit from Brandon
Being an AK guy from back in the mid-1970's, I am not surprised with the AK durability. Thanks, Scott!
the originals AKs normally are made to be disposable, poor materials and cheap hand work to produce even more to the field
@@fabricioresmini1542 Durability from larger tolerances, more ductile material and nothing very sophisticated.
Definitely need to give that AK another go with an even spicier round. First though, I think it's be real interesting to see if it would run if you pried the brass out of the chamber and installed a new bolt/carrier assembly.
That's exactly what I was thinking.
Second on another AK. One with a stamped receiver since the CAI one looked to be milled.
The googly eyes on the chip-o-matic! 🤣
A revisit to the AK would be awesome. itd be interesting to see if a tougher/higher quality bolt couldve survived

Uhh how does this comment have likes? zero ak knowledge. just walk away. the furniture has nothing to do with the AKM structure... ok nvm ill stop there.
@@242tdryan … yes… I am aware that the wood furniture has nothing to do with how the firearm functions. During Vietnam the US got a hold of a bunch of 7.62 ammo and replaced the gunpowder with nitroglycerin then Redistributed them so the NVAs AK would explode

1. I'm honestly surprised that Century Arms POS held up as well as it did.

3. I think we can all agree that the Chip O Matic 5000 was the funniest part of this whole episode. When I saw the face Scott put on it I just lost it and started laughing.
You'd probably need to load a .22 with straight up high explosives to even damage the gun

It might be interesting to see what happens if you got an UZI to explode. The UZI bolt is pretty much an anvil, but the receiver is sheet metal. I'd wonder how many parts might still be useful after a major blow up. That's assuming you can even get a 9mm carbine like the UZI to blow up.
Hm. I do now wonder how much pressure it would take to grenade a straight blowback 9mm 🤔
I would imagine it blows the bolt out the rear before anything else

I'm so glad Scott made a full recovery after the .50 explosion. These videos are amazing.
The round exploded in hes gun while he was firing it? I'm new to the channel and dont know much about guns and what can go wrong with 50cal 🙂
That’s exactly what happened. The round was super hot(means it produced too much pressure) causing the gun to fail and imbed a piece of metal in Scott’s collar bone. Luckily, he stuck his thumb in the wound(that’s where the t shirt comes from) and his dad drove him to the hospital
@@clawedleopard6630 he got very lucky, or blessed. He almost died.

I was half expecting you to run all of them tables over with the truck in the intro xD
Scott is the Whistlin diesel of pew pews. I love it. That hammer smash at the end is a great addition.
This looks, by far, to be the safest for the user of any gun you’ve blown up so far.

Even 2 years after your accident it's still hard to believe you made it through that, God was definitely watching over you. Thank you for all the great videos Scott!
Yeah man that stuff was wild. Like I couldnt believe it at first (the extent of the wounds, plus him surviving), though I dont think that god had anything to do with that. Still im just happy, that we all are happy, that hes around and happy.
Naw.... that was all him, I was on the shitter when it happened...
The running joke about Brandon’s potty mouth is hilarious. Scott’s disapproving look is great.

My brother in christ. You can't just joke about a catastrophic failure while you're loading the round like that. My heart can't take it!

the amount of happy you get from a wood chipper is refreshing lmao love you Scott. You're doing KY Proud!
I'd love to see what happens with a drop-block style rifle. like the Ruger No. 1. It could be an interesting mechanism to break.
This kinda stuff is what I do for a living lol still fun watching someone else do it
I'm an Australian so guns are pretty much nonexistent here so watching Scott always cheers me up. He has an awesome sense of humor and is by far my favorite gun channel. I especially love what he does to the tables and ballistic dummies at the end of the episode. Love how he nonchalantly ties it all up with a rope, hooks it up to his truck, then............ carnage ensues!!! Maybe do the AK47 again and really make it go boom! I'm also curious to see a SCAR heavy or something chambered in 338 Lapua disappear as well. Just a thought 🤔🤔 Keep up the exceptional work mate!!!
You are objectively incorrect. There are over a million civilian-owned firearms in Australia. I personally know plenty of shooters, I even did skeet and trap shooting in sports class in high school.

6:42 that joke never gets old XD
Starting with a beer pong table massacre really set the mood 😂
Try testing with a full stamped receiver like the AKM or AK-74 type as the milled receiver you are using there was mainly as a substitute until the factory Kalashnikov set up with managed to work out the issues suffered with the original stamped receivers used on first production AK47s.
Edit: For those who can't tell, pause at 5:20, and you will see the area where they would shave off metal to lighten the receiver. On a stamped receiver, there is an indentation put there to strengthen the sheet metal.
good to see that scott's still single-handedly keeping the table company in business👍
When goes go boom ( THE 4 BORE ) a tad bit extreme but in all the name of good fun. 😂
Scott, thank you so much for sharing your pineapple cole slaw recipe. Question, do I have to use 7.62 to dice the cabbage, or will 5.56 work “just as good?”
Not gonna lie I was shocked that particular AK held up so well. I might have to do with how far up the bolt is maybe as to why the detonation wasn't so bad. Personally I'd like to see more shotguns on this particular test as given how many unique 12gauge rounds there are, just to see how much is too much in a shot shell.
Also, I was really expecting Brandon to come out of nowhere and German Suplex you through a couple of those tables for detonating a precious Kalash.
Gotta be honest I'm more interested in seeing how guns perform CLOSE to failure than when they have a whole rifle-case full of fast pistol powder that makes them essentially a primer-detonated pipe-bomb.
I'd love to see your next video be about escalating the chamber pressure until the gun finally goes, or seeing how many e.g. 80k psi rounds a gun can take before it goes boom. That's really what happened in your .50bmg accident, the rifle handled several extremely hot rounds in sequence and despite continuing to function, the stress was accumulating.
No pipe threads can not hold shock loads! Period the RN50 is just flat dangerous and needs recalled! Hell pipe threads break from water hammer!
Yeah I’ve been wanting to see some more scientific, rigorous tests for ‘when guns go boom’. Don’t get me wrong, it’s always entertaining watching stuff blow up, but I feel as if we have an opportunity to learn a whole lot more if Scott changes the way he tests these things.
So load the magazine with progressively spicier rounds until the gun breaks? Sounds fun, except you might also have half a mag of live rounds, which doesn't sound safe.
Nah it was just that one round he had that was loaded with the wrong powder. He tested the rest of them after the video and they all worked perfectly
What’s funny is the fact that there’s been times before where the AK exploded, and yet the user was fine
Klashnikov did a pretty good job in making sure when his stuff failed, it wasn’t gonna fail entirely
Man you’re the King
I'd be interested to see what would happen if there was ammo in the mag
4:44 *me after eating Taco Bell*
Scott…… I think you had a little poupon your shoulder 🤣
Scott's yell when he is running with the hammer sounds like the headless guys that blow themselves up in Serious Sam.
LOL
Trolling Brandon in front hundreds of thousands viewers will never get old 😂
One thing I'd love to see, though I appreciate it'd absolutely ramp up the danger factor:
With a few of the recent explosions we've seen, the slow mo footage has shown the explosion escape out through (and usually destroying) the mag. Which raises the question of what would happen if there were rounds present in the mag. Would you end up getting a potential chain reaction? Could be interesting to find out.
That's an excellent question. A lot of guns are designed to direct energy down the mag, to keep the explosion away from the shooter (as much as they can). Certainly they have tested this?
I would be interested to see that, too.
A partial answer may be in this exploding ZSR ammunition in an M1A, where it just dumped the remaining rounds out the bottom of the magazine, but that could vary by ammo, mag design and even chance, too: czcams.com/video/Q2kjpIwcYFk/video.html
@@letsdothis9063 guns were never designed to be safe, they were designed to keep the user alive in scenarios
@@SlavicUnionGaming Right right. Yea no, you're wrong. Otherwise various things about guns wouldn't be called 'safeties'. They'd be called 'Alivies'
When you gonna get poppa Scot to play a character haha
man you almost nailed that tripple table flip. I know you'll get it
I've been around since the original spaz 12 videos and I just wanna say I haven't stopped enjoying your content it's only gotten better and I hope it never slows down. Keep doing what your doing I love your content!
I'd be more interested in seeing whether you could get that one going again. The lower seems mostly intact. Judging by how rickety AK's are from factory, you might be able to just slide a new bolt in and make it go pew, pew and then boom again. 👍
