Is there a map of the “California Bay Laurel” / Umbellulone-trees naturally occurring dense growth areas in California ? Or southern Oregon / Grant’s Pass area ?
It has some nice stuff in its aroma (Eucalyptol [eucalyptus], Eugenol [cloves], both alpha and beta Pinene [evergreen trees]….
… but also produce a ketone called umbellulone which produces those terrible headaches ….

I guess I have a diff sub species growing on my foot hill land 45 miles east of fresno, the leaves are longer and trunks tend to grow in groups much straighter than tree in this video, trunk diameter almost always under 20 inches and trunks grow extremely straight not like the tree in video, elevation growing native on the land is close to 2300, they vanish much lower or higher in elevation.

This tree seems to have many iterations dependent upon where it is growing and possibly various seed strain or both

@@ScaryHairyGary ya that bay tree looks way diff than the ones on my land I thought they are California bay Laurel they leaves smell like bay leaves, leaves prob 5 to 7 inches long maybe inch wide. Tree in your video is largest bay tree I've ever seen that why it seems like a diff species.
