    The most comfortable quad I ever had was a Polaris sportsman 500. But the cfmoto quads are at a whole different level of comfort and style. They are the future of riding in style. It's just crazy how nice they have gotten in the last few years. Pretty awesome machines.

    Great to see more reviews out there. I got a 600 from Christmas and trying to break it in before the Spring. Love the ride and the power is there. It is true that it seems to start out a bit underpowered, but for me it feels right. The last thing I want is that power at the start where I lurch too far forward. I can take baby steps at the low end which means being able to navigate trails a bit better when you need precision. This is very true with areas with overgrowth on new trails. I do not want to blaze a new trail at high RPM. I also will be using this to tow a debris bucket around the property and I don't need that instant power at the low-end. The only other issue I found is starting out in low gear. Because I am breaking it in, I only need to be in low gear since you aren't supposed to go beyond 50%. But sometimes I find it doesn't catch and it grinds. What I found that works 100% of the time is to shift in low gear and then up to high, then back to low.

    Bought a 600 this year; I live in Northern Ontario, and have been running some pretty challenging trails…..mud, rock crawling, beaver dams, sand, clay, you name it…. Just this past weekend it was a crawl through old bush trails… two hours to cover 11k (7miles) ….you get the idea!
    So far the performance has been very good.

    Looks like they improved on the clutching. One of my first questions or concerns I had about my 21....was the high rpm at low speeds in high range. It wasn't until after I let it wind it's legs out the first few times that I started to like it. My previous Cfmoto quad was a 21 cf500 abd an 18 cf400 prior to that.. And the clutching never seemed right on either. Low was too low for open trails. High was too high for the tight twisty ATV trails. I was always having to stop and manually switch gears...and often this led me to fall off the pace of the group. The 400 and 500 were both very durable...and dependable...but the gearing issue was something I never really got used to....especially since my wife rides a 19 Sportsman...where the clutching and ride quality were much better on. What I like most about my 600. I can pretty much run the tight twisty trails in high gear. In fact...it outruns my wife's sportsman because of the way its clutched....and because the ride quality rivals the Polsris now. I do like the new bar controls on the 22 models. And it seems like it's got more kick than my 21 based off your recent videos. However, I would be reluctant to trade up if the clutching reverted back similar to that on my 400/500's. I just don't like running low gear in a quad unless it's for work related riding....like hauling or plowing. Great video as always.

    So Blake where do you feel the clutching is at on the 2022 600. Is it like having the clutch kit straightt from the factory, or kinda in between the older ones and what you would get after a clutch kit?

    • @RealTalkPowersports
      @RealTalkPowersports  Před 2 lety +2

      I'd definitely say it's in between.. its AWESOME for the stock tires.. like there is no need to clutch it for more performance with the stock tires the way it comes on the 2022.. but there is definitely still going to be an advantage to getting the clutch kit from MSC if you go with bigger heavier tires

      Thats the issue with 12 inch wheels.. you will find the same issue with any manufacture that has 12 inch wheels from the factory.. I had the same issue with my polaris ranger 900, and my honda foreman and my old honda rancher.. You need to get 14 inch wheels if you are trying to ride through creek and river beds that have a lot of rocks in it, and mud as well. None are designed to be a boat and go through deep water... so the blown fuse is not a manufacture problem... that is from simply trying to cross places where the water or mud comes up to the radiator height which is just not what its made for.. every manufactured atv made will say that in the owners manual.

    • @RealTalkPowersports
      @RealTalkPowersports  Před 2 lety +1

      That is a common issue with cvt driven machines such as canam polaris and cfmoto being on a slope and trying to shift gears. But then again, the gear transmissions in Hondas can do the same thing at times.
      It's all due to gear mesh and binding on the machine from trying to hold position and shifting gears.. ill have to do a video to explain.. but even if you are in pickup truck or car and you park on a hill, it can be difficult to shift from park to a gear or vice versa..
      I bet he has to rock the machine a little to get it to shift right?

    I’ve noticed a lot of talk about running these quads in low range. I’ve owned a Suzuki many years ago and only put it in low for heavy pulls or really sloppy thick mud, maybe a hill climb or two.
    Electrical and clutch issues kinda have me on the edge with purchasing a 800 or 1000. What does the extended warranty covers if purchase? I’ve only read a bout 3or4 engine failures out of the hundreds of comments and chats I’ve looked through.

    • @RealTalkPowersports
      @RealTalkPowersports  Před 2 lety

      The rule of thumb for any CVT driven ATV or SxS which is pretty much everything besides a Honda.. you need to be in low gear if your average speed is below 15 mph or anytime you are putting the machine under a load or in a bind, like going through a thick mud hole, boggy soft sand section, up a steep hill, rock crawling, crossing a ditch pulling something....
      Its all because of the way a CVT Belt driven machine operates.. it keeps from slipping the belt or breaking it. ... that goes for cfmoto, canam, polaris, kawasaki, Yamaha, and other CVT driven machines.

      Have to adjust the steering rods and line the wheels up. It's probably just very slightly off. Nothing to worry about tho. Contact your dealer and explain it and they should take care of you.

    I got my 600 the end of last year. Awesome quad. The steering is a game changer.
    I'm not sure how you popped up in my recommended list, but I'm glad you did. You seem to really know your way around these machines in a way that is easy for the common man to understand.
    Which leads me to a question I haven't been able to hunt up the answer:
    How do you attach jumper cables to these?
    I went to give my buddy's Foreman a jump start the other day and the battery has a steel brace right over the terminals, as I'm sure you are aware. This is my first quad or SxS that has not had easy access to the battery terminals. It had me wondering if there were jumper posts elsewhere or if I could have used the posts on the winch...
    We ended up using an extension cord and battery charger once we got it by the house, but I'm not sure why CF Moto apparently does not want you to use the battery terminals to either give or get a jump start without breaking out the tools?
    Thanks. And subscribed!

    • @RealTalkPowersports
      @RealTalkPowersports  Před 2 lety +2

      I wish i had a simple solution for you on the 600.. It just happened to end up like that in their design i guess.. that is the seat latch cross bar that is almost right on top of the terminals. You really only have 2 options then to access the battery directly. First would be to break out a 10mm socket and remove the bar when needing access. or you may can take a flat head screw driver and remove the 2 body panel clips and lift the plastic out of the way to try and put your jumper cables in at an angle (i recommend just removing the bar). But that does mean you would have to keep a 10mm on board with you.

      @pacanis Před 2 lety +1

      @@RealTalkPowersports Thanks.
      The shop was trying to tell me that they did not want you using battery jumper cables. That CF Moto was afraid of damaging the computer. But then in the same breath they tried to sell me a portable jump starter pack with smaller clamps that would fit under that bar...
      Considering all the features this has I can't believe they didn't design jumper posts like many vehicles have.

      @@Delmarksman absolutely. I was in the same boat. I felt like I was taking a risk by buying a CFMoto. However, there is a strong dealer network near me, especially in the northeast (can't speak for other parts of the country). The CFMoto dealer closest to me also sells and services Skidoo, Seadoo, Polaris, CanAm, and Kawasaki. They are arguably the most reputable and largest volume powersport dealer in the state. My thought process was, why would they want anything to do with CFMoto if it was junk? CFMoto is not a new company. They are the most sold ATV brand in Europe. KTM is partners with CFMoto in their motorcycle lineup (coming to USA this year). Why would KTM do that if they didn't believe in CFMoto as a company? The second reason that I bought it is that I was able to buy a 4 year warranty extension (adds to the 1 year factory warranty). So I have 5 years of peace of mind. The third reason is that an equivalent Polaris 600 Touring with power steering and the same 5 year warranty would have cost me around $13,200 OTD which was way out of my range (Polaris is known to have their share of issues also). I paid $8775 OTD. Mine is technically a 21 by VIN but has the colors and features of the 22s. They call these "late model 21s". Most dealers are already charging '22 MSRP ($7299) for these. My dealer charged me the '21 price ($6899). I will be using this ATV for light duty trail riding and yard work. I won't be mudding or doing anything crazy. I watched just about every video online and read tons of reviews before buying and the general consensus on these is favorable. I must also say, its a comfortable ride and the fit, finish, features and details are incredible. The high revving CVT transmission is a little weird at first but you get used to it. Despite the siezed starter and dead display screen, which have both been replaced under warranty, I don't regret my purchase.
