This isn't the first time I have noticed excellent away support from claques of the big Portuguese teams. You very rarely if ever see the same kind of sport from fans across the border in Spain. Why is there such a big difference between the sport cultures in both countries?
+Julian Farrell well the spanish claim that's because distances are way bigger in their territory for away fans to travel but that's no excuse (just look at the astonishing german away support). Also, they aren't really into the "organized groups" thing while those groups in Portugal have lots of members, I mean I remember back in 2005 Vitoria de Guimarães, the 6th or 7th biggest team in my country, took over 2000 supporters to Sevilla. Personally, I think it's just a matter of culture
+Julian Farrell In Portugal we have a lot of teams like that. We love football teams like: Sporting(my team),Benfica,Porto,Vitoria Guimara;es,Boavista that support the team 90 minutes singing. But in Spain the teams are better of course but only one or two teams there sing and support 90 minutes like Atletico Madrid or Atletic Bilbao...(sorry for my english)
i´m glad that someone outside portugal are looking for our ultras,normaly everybody speaks about other country´s like poland,or germany,morroco etc but i think we have a great atmosphere here in Portugal,and like u said we support our teams everywhere and with a lot of fans,considering portugal is a small country and in serious financial problems,its very impressive what we do,but again...people will just care about other country´s..
julian the difference between those teams and portugal is that in portugal only three teams the other don't matter I'm from braga and we have amazing fans there too the big problem is in portugal people prefer to sport the three big clubs because they win the most ... shit mentality trust me ... obviously if u have a club with a million fans 3 million fans and 6 million fans every where through out Europe it is not difficult to move much people ... if u see fans that support their true team (local) only some can make half of this movement ... regards from portugal ultras Bracara legion

Not only is Porto Porto, sporting, braga, vitoria de guimares (I did not forget the benfca but they do not even have a cheerleader for that ...)
