Prince wrote SO many songs for other artists>>>you could be a Prince fan and not even know.
Prince was a musical genius. He played EVERY instrument. Every song is a masterpiece on its own. You have to do more Prince to include Purple Rain of course and one of my favorites, Darling Nikki!

Definitely agree with your remark how Prince was a creative machine. Not many artists can be labeled as such. But Prince was one of a kind.👍🎸
Prince was indeed a legit genius. He and the Revolution also contributed to the We Are The World album.
I thought this performance was off the charts!! I think some lyrics got skipped over for the guitar playing…but it was totally worth it to see him in his true element. The way he moves and dances while playings the guitar is amazing! Great reaction HAP!!
First off, I've never heard this song. But I loved it!!! I'm not comparing him to Freddie Mercury, but Prince was a showman, and yet in interviews, he seemed so shy. What a great reaction, Hap! ✌️ ☮️ 🥷

Glad you got the chance to catch this performance and that you appreciate it. FYI - during the guitar solo, he threw in a couple of bars from his song "Controversy" (2 albums before Purple Rain) - an Easter Egg to his long-time fans! Timestamp: 5:24.
He was such a dynamic performer that sometimes his guitar virtuosity gets pushed aside, at times. I personally love when he concentrates on the guitar and less on the outrageousness of the performance, but that is just me. While My Guitar Gently Weeps is on of my favorite pieces on music, ever. A true chill bump moment. Great reaction Hap. 🐰

Look at me all early and stuff! Yes. He was totally underrated in his guitar playing. I will admit I only know probably a handful (ish) of his songs but always enjoy watching him perform. Plus he's a little cutie 😉 Did you say you watched a documentary on him? Do you know where we could find this in the states? I believe there is one on Netflix? (Hulu?) about Bon Jovi that I need to watch.

Great reaction to the best ever!!! The estate recently released a show he did at his Glam Slam club in Minneapolis that is amazing. I recommend any songs from that performance but think Thieves in the Temple/It or Nothing Compares 2 U are particularly great. Also, Baby I’m a Star/Push from the Special Olympics is very good. Of course, anything you react to from Prince is great. The live performances are a whole other level. Something that wasn’t mentioned on that documentary about We Are the World is that Prince donated a song to the album. It’s a beautiful song called 4 the Tears in Your Eyes. It’s the reason I bought that album back then.
