PLOT: US Navy helicopter pilot Lt Chris Burnett is part of the NATO force observing the peace treaty during the conflict in former Yugoslavia. Bored with routine duties, he flies off his designated route and spots Serb forces breaching the peace agreement, but they spot him too and down his craft. Behind enemy lines and with the Serbs on his trail, his only hope is that his commander sends in a rescue mission.

SUCH an underrated movie.
But also the enemy had vehicles and just watched him climb a mountain on foot instead of chasing. Somehow it's the 2nd dumbest scene in the movie.
Don’t forget the fact that despite running over the top of the hill and out of their line of sight, the bullets continued to follow him down the other side of the hill….

Saw it in theatre, age 11. It was a popular old theatre that shut down a few years later. Oddly enough the last movie I ever saw there: Wedding Crashers

Excelente Película
I remember stories my father would tell me about US pilots evading through Serbian Forces. That war was scary and horrifying. Far worse then Russia invading Ukraine.

0:44 looks like he was running down hill, if that's right then he'd had made it to the other side of the hill. But they were still able to see and take shots at him.

Needed a signal. The commander in lone survivor had to as well.

Those are Serb, not Russian, this movie was set during Kosovo War. Serbian Armed Force uses M2 left over all the way from WW2. And we donated Humvee and other firearms to the Serbian Armed Force during and after KFOR/IFOR.
