CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Admiral Reiga (Gene Hackman) orders Chris (Owen Wilson) to re-locate to a new extraction point in order to be rescued.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
A television commercial for a Sega game system that aired during the 1999 MTV Music Video Awards landed debut director John Moore a gig behind the camera of this military action thriller. Owen Wilson stars as Lt. Chris Burnett, a naval aviator aboard the U.S.S. Carl Vinson who's frustrated with the strict "hands-off" political policies that prevent him from experiencing combat against hostile Bosnian forces in his F/A-18 Superhornet jet. Burnett's commander, Admiral Reigert (Gene Hackman), thinks that the brash pilot doesn't have what it takes to be in the millitary, but the eager young officer soon gets the chance to prove his mettle. While conducting a routine photographic reconnaissance over a remote area of the Balkans, Burnett captures grisly images that serve as proof of genocidal crimes, but his plane is blown out of the sky. He's soon pursued on the ground by the forces of Lokar (Olek Krupa), a Serbian paramilitary leader intent on covering up unthinkable crimes, while Reigert defies the NATO orders of his superior (Joaquim de Almeida) and risks his career to mount a covert rescue mission. Behind Enemy Lines (2001), the first of two back-to-back releases starring Wilson and Hackman (the other being The Royal Tenenbaums), also stars David Keith, Gabriel Macht, and Charles Malik Whitfield.

Any movie with Gene Hackman Is automatically great in my book.
I totally agree!
@@user-hm6kl6lf9z ii
Agree... Bat 21, Behind Enemy Lines... Enemy of the State... And the Firm. Some of my Gene Hackman fave movies
I agree
Yeah, buddy!
would you believe it’s Owen Wilson? he was so serious on this role, a fine admiral Gene Hackman puts a lot of pressure and intensify the battle. such a fine movie indeed. one of my favorites!
This movie could of transformed his career if he captilized on it
Such an underrated film, its something unique outside of the comedy stuff Owen normally does.
I had no idea he took crashing weddings so seriously
Gene Hackman is one of the best actors ever…
Owen Wilson Is Playing A Russian In This Movie!
Legendary role by Hackman (one of many). He was 71 here. Now he's 91. Hard to believe.
"Where is he? Triangulate his position"
"Uhhh sir, I'm pretty sure he's at Rally Point 3. He just told us that."
lol, right? He was literally sitting at the Rally Point bitching that you were telling him he had to move to a new one.
😂😂😂😂😂
Maybe he required the exact coordinates in real-time.
Gene Hackman is absolute fabulous. The guy who played the role of assassin is also great
Gene
Assassin was played Nico Belic, cousin of Roman the taxi guy who loves bowling
LOL: "WHERE IS HE? TRIANGULATE HIS POSITION!" WTF? HE JUST GAVE YOU HIS EXACT LOCATION IN HIS CHECK IN AT RALLY POINT. ACCURATE, REALISTIC DIALOGUE DOES NOT COST ANYTHING.
Well I don't know how radio works but ok i guess
So from prior military experience we like to use the term trust but verify. My ASSUMPTION would be that he wants to double check his position is where they said that the first extraction would be and to see if they could actually pick him up or even send help. It’s not entirely out of character for the chain of command or leadership in general to fumble back and forth between the initial idea and the newest ideas
@@TheAbaddon01 Whose prior military experience? It is certainly not your own, and certainly not that of SERE or CSAR experience. That is the most incoherent, self-contradicting, rant of 2024. Tell us about all of your "military" experience, and how it opposes reality. Public school and growing up without a father really took a toll on you.
@@DowntownDeuce2 you clearly have never dealt with leadership have you ? Human error is a real thing dude. His order is the equivalent of an actual leader (based on your response you’ve never had one) saying “show me EXACTLY where he is I want to put eyes on it and see it myself”. No this isn’t far fetched. There are plenty of people that just trust what someone says so they don’t even look at the work themselves. You can’t escape general human psychology. There have been plenty of scenarios in my life and even yours where people trust you just because you have like-minded interests. Next you’re gonna say “well they shouldn’t be in leadership” I agree with you. But unfortunately you never know til that person is in that position. You clearly never have been
Gene Hackman acts just like my dad; tough love 24/7
That’s not a good thing lol
One of the greatest movies ever made for the camera work... Visual effects... it hardly looks like reel ... its real
Gene was like “You ever seen the Lipizzaner Stallions?”
The most unrealistic thing in this scene is that an Admiral would actually touch a radio.
Or be as heavy as this dude
Many people don't realise how good Gene Hackman was in this, the way he got too frustrated and use the Pilot (or Rio) name Burnett (Wilson's Character name) instead of his call sign, the timing and the tension and all that, it's gold. You NEVER use real name in open channel, that's Basic SERE thing. And the way he (Hackman) got overly frustated about how Wilson interpret the situation, even tho Wilson is probably right, that got to him and because he knows wilson was right but there are pretty much nothing he can do as that's SOP, that why he slipped, and the reaction of the other guy when he slip is also good.
Its annoying as hell how the rescue gets called off like 3 times though.
@@faceripper77 Happens in real life too. Look at the book/movie Bat-21. That was a real life situation where the rescue got moved many times before they got him out.
Hackman is always good!
They did this in Vietnam when there was too much activity around
Own wilson totally and seriously... Very seriously proved himself as one of the best actors in all cinematic history!
Negative
That's stretching it a bit.
def not the best
"best actors in all cinematic history" 😅 nothing like a little hyperbole
Even though this movie is really cheesy at parts, it has a bunch of brilliant moments and great acting.
When Burnett walks away from Hač is one of the coolest scenes in a war movie.
What would be a cheesy part
@@shaunZ96 A lot of the explosions and gunfights.
@@Walfuz haha. As cheesy as michael bay?
@@shaunZ96 The hard drive. That was a damned limburger factory level of cheese.
@@rcslyman8929 Some people think it was cheesy, I always thought it was a heroic and epic scene. Risking your life to get the evidence and the reason of why your best friend was killed. I missed the part where that is actually cheesy.
...where is he, triangulate his position!
ummm, he's at the freakin rally point you cabbage, he just told you where.
Lolol
Lol I honestly never noticed that line.
Lmao never realized how ridiculous that question was until you pointed out lmao I was more focused on the suspense of the soldiers finding how whereabouts haha NICE ATTENTION 2 DETAIL
lol good catch
I know right why do they even care where he is, they want him to go to a new extraction point.
He could have been great in action movies; one of the best movies of all time for me
I wish Hollywood would make more movies like this... Air Action movie
This movie is based on true story
@@nacejehart4849 _"influenced"_ is the operative word.
TOP GUN
I wish Disney would make a Cars adaptation
That 'safe zone' was even more dangerous than the spot he was in now.
They had more sams where he was at, remember that’s right next to where they got shot down
He’s in the heart of a no fly zone too
@@JLD5500 That's also the zone where the helicopter carrying the SaR team amusingly manages to evade all enemy SAM batteries.
One of my favorite movies!!
but extreme dumb with mentioning Britney Spears which was not exist on world scene at the time when event in movies are happening!!
Hill yes😎
My favorie besides Top Gun. This movie is based on true story of Serbian war horrors when US pilot was shot down and captured in 1999
This is one of my favorites when I was a kid and even now it's still on one of my one of the best list.
_"Evade and survive, and we will bring you home. Do you understand? We WILL bring you home."_
Clint Eastwood = In The Line Of Fire
Owen Wilson = Behind Enemy Lines
George Clooney = Money Monster
Will watch it over and over...
My wife always confuse of me watch this movie over and over again. She notice that I've watch this movie several time. She just doesnt notice the fave part why I love this movie so much... Which is missile chase. The scene is so breath taking😂😂😂
Director John Moore was nearly killed in the scene where the tank busts through the wall. He was pulled away by a stuntman just in time
I don't believe it was that scene, it was when the tank fired its explosive round where he was pulled away to safety just in time.
gonna need a source on that, chief
@@Forgan_Mreeman source: trust me bro

Tomasv26 LMAO!!! 😂
Very underated movie. Love this scene
One of my favorite movies of all time.
A iconic movie ,my total life still now running like this only.
I've watched this movie countless times since it came out. It's damn near my favorite movie. ALL of the actors are awesome in it. I do enjoy Gene in Heartbreakers, he's absolutely hilarious. So was Ray Liotta (RIP 💙) I have never gotten sick of this movie. Never not once. If it's on, I'll watch it! People like to pick it apart, well yeah Hollywood isn't reality. They get a lot of stuff wrong, especially with aviation. The overall story, acting, cinema photography (especially considering the time this was released) is impactful.

It’s so interesting that Gene Hackman played a pilot shot down in Bat 21.
Love this film, always one worth watching.
dude became a believer, the rally point was indeed undoable for pickup
Sometimes in life we need those stern pep talks/reminders that tell us to sometimes suck it up and go with the flow, especially when life gets tough. Thank you dad for teaching me that.
Great scene except for the last bit in this clip. You know where he is. He's at the designated extraction site you just deemed too hot to enter.
One of the best films I have ever seen 👍
Gene Hackman is the man of the movie..another movie depicting his heroic acts - BAT21..also about downed airman
Great scene, Great movie!
one of the best battle-jet escape scene(s) ever. and oh yeah, the movie is great too!,,,rr
But they didn't "scape"
After he getting rid of the minefield with a Hollywood miracle, he must win at the end of the movie😂!
Triangulate his position!
...
He's here sir!
That was fast.
Yeah, he was at the rally point we set for him
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Its one of my favorite movie
"Where is he?!" Lol. You prolly have that written down somewhere, champ.
This movie is good because it caughts your attention. Its frustrating and it makes you anxious
1:57 he did a Magnum there👏.
Is any one notice, that Gene Hackman used to play a role like this young man pilot does? The story line ia almost the similar. Watch "Bat 21" of you wanna know...👍👍👍
Bat 21 was about Vietnam, with Danny Glover as bird dog. Hackman was shot down in enemy territory.
this was such a good movie
"I'm at the rendevouz point"
Later: "Where is he? Triangulate his position"
"No names over the net"
*Burnett*
"Where is he ? - Triangulate his position"... Hes at the freaking rendezvous!
This one of my favorite movies good classic🙌🏾♥️
One of my favs....nice its based on some true events
Owen Wilson: Lightning McQueen (Cars)
Gene Hackman: General Mandible (Antz)
I just downloaded it today and I am watching it right now.
Well the admiral was right that was not a good extract point, halfway through the conversation the search party showed up, great film wish we had more like it.
Great scene fabulous scene
LOVE this movie.
The best of the best knowledge.
I need another copy of this movie
"Where is he? Triangulate his position." DUDE, HE JUST TOLD YOU EXACTLY WHERE HE WAS.
Where is he, triangulate his position? Bish he just said he's right at the extraction point you were suppose to be at
Wonderful Movie 👍
I though Captain Frank Ramsey retired after the whole crimson tide thing
"Where is he? Triangulate his position!"
He just told you his position 2 minutes ago.
Seems like Owen ran in Circles
The best movie i've ever seen ❤️❤️
This is such a good movie and loved it growing up. But I must be honest and say that it’s difficult sometimes to look past Owen Wilson’s nose
This was me talking to my boss when I accidentally wandered into and got lost in a new wing of our facility that had been closed off by a "rival" department we frequently have conflicts with. 😅
THANK YOU, FANDANGO, MOVIE CLIPS. YOU ARE TOO NICE.
WE LOVE YOUR WEBSITE TOO. SERIOUSLY.
I always thought that Gene Hackman’s character in this movie is a carbon copy of his role in Crimson Tide…….
New extraction point? Wow!
RoundenBrown back then went MCU and DCEU never exist now it's all big circus..
Aku suka behind enemy.seorang tentara pembrtani yang begitu mengharukan
0:49 should have said "oh wow" right there
Geez, every time gene hackman is in a movie, things always go from bad to worse.
Great movie..trust me
Good movie!
THANKS TRUE

What survival radio he is using. Is it AN/PRC-90?
An Admiral with a thick Portuguese accent in the Navy is very believable
Edward Bliss I’m sorry but you honestly think Gene Hackman sounds at all Portuguese?
Winston_KillDeath he was talking about the NATO Admiral, not the American played by Gene Hackman.
Think that dude is really Portugese (Probably Protugese American) he was in Clear and Present Danger opposit Harrison Ford
He is the same General from behind enemy lines
افضل فلم
Where is he?
Well sir he's at the evaq point so we know exactly where he is
He got promoted to admiral after that incident on the Alabama? Nice
Hahaha i smile
