Huntsville needs more to the story.
Throughout the story, repeated elements consist of: Loud screaming and crying, knocking on a door repeatedly with no answer, seeing other people as grotesque smiling faces, or disturbing in some other way. Our protagonist( at the end of the story) is hearing crying and screaming (like they first heard at the cabin) and repeated knocking at the door. But he refuses to answer it.
Kind of like when others refused to open the door when HE knocked. Maybe other people, in some alternate purgatory-like reality, see HIM as a nightmarish specter. At the end, He finally breaks down and starts crying. Maybe other people who have experienced the same horrors as him hear his cries of anguish and to them it sounds like baby crying or battery deficient baby toys.
Perhaps the cabin in the woods is home to somebody who is doing the same thing as the protagonist at the end. Hiding indoors, ignoring anything on the outside, sulking in misery, But inadvertently infecting anyone who draws near with it's vile terror. It's almost as if, everyone who is infected becomes trapped inside of a horrid mental reality where they can't see or hear their loved ones anymore. Only deformed shades and the cries of infants. Other's who have suffered the same fate. Kind of a far fetched theory, but creepy to think about.
Umm, thats actually a pretty solid theory even if it is a little far fetched. I like it. Stories like this i dont think we are supposed to understand them. Instead we just sit there trying to think wtf just happened. This makes the story creep you out even more. For sure i love those kinds.

Most unnerving story I've ever heard. Just thinking about being in a situation like this without being able to even communicate with another living soul sounds like pure torture and gives me the chills.
Twist ending, the whole thing was just the narrator's girlfriend hinting that she wanted to have a baby.
The joke should have been funnier. For instance, the incident at the window was definitely a face off.

This is such a good story. The supernatural entity isolates the narrator in the most terrifying way: shutting off his communication, shutting off his relationships. He still lives in the same world, but it doesn't recognize him anymore.

no shit, we all know that they are fake. they don't deny it either(all though you can find a few that are based on Urban Legends or that actually are true) that doesn't mean you gotta ruin for those of us that enjoy them. They;re meant to creep out and give us a scare. And Fyi, half the creepypastas are re-telling of other creepypastas, some people add things to make em better, scarier or longer or all of thee above. Sometimes certain comments are best kept to oneself.
***** This is the exact same story as the Smiling Girl. Down from the name, to the "try to scare each other" to the faint smell, and the pee running down the guy's leg. I don't know what's up or why this was repeated.

One of them vanishes and only one of them remembers him then he disappears and then his other friend does too even worse it's never revealed how and why it happens and why everyone's memories of them are forgotten.

This one gives me special creeps, was one of the first creepypastas I read a long time ago, back when I was reading these on an old computer at the creaky attic of my college building. Feels good to hear this being read, and then immediately scroll down a bit when the video starts...
Another underrated classic, I really love how this one progresses and how it eventually ends on a similar note to Arizona, a hopeless ending with no real way of escape, so well done. 8/10.

I lived in that forest at a TYC facility called Gulf Coast Trades Center. We used to sneak out at night and go hiking in the woods and one time we got lost. It took us all night to get back to our dorms. We saw some stuff that night which we really don't speak of often. Needless to say, this pasta really hit close to home. I don't doubt the reality of it.
But, I'm also just saying, if you have camped out there (less than 8 miles away from a youth prison) and you heard or saw things, there's just a slight chance it was some of us fucking around.

I live in Huntsville and go to SHSU. So I live like, 5 minutes from the National Forest. It really isn't that scary :) Now about 30 minutes down the road (close to Dodge) there is a "Hat Man." No one knows what he is... although he has scared the crap out of some of my friends.

I just meant that there's numerous possibilities of what it could be e.g. spirit, demon, monster, dimensional warping, etc... I very much doubt it's a disturbed human, as assuming real world physics apply to this story, humans just can't do the sort of things that occurred with the cabin and beyond.
There's always the slight chance that everything is a hallucination of a main character, but then again, there's also evidence to the contrary, particularly that everyone perceives the same thing, which would perhaps be impossible. Interesting and thought provoking is just what I find it :)

...I used to live 15 minutes from Huntsville.
for some reason that photo reminded me of this poster in my dentists office that says: "who doesn't like a good smile?" really though, this story is full of red flags. friend who pissed himself, and wont stop screaming. abandoned cabin that dissapears and reappears unpredictably. worn out, discarded childrens toys lying around. strange sounds off in the distance. it felt a bit rushed, and i wasnt able to visualize the scenes due to lack of description.
